Mine fell in water and not working. When I saw how expensive it was, almost like buying a new one, I downloaded the app in my phone and it solved it. I have both one Fire TV, and Fire Stick and they are automatically identified as so. Great tips I just found in your videos. Thank you for your time.

I have to reconnect my RCA TV about every 2 days, to control the TV. It just will not stay synced or connected. works fine with the regular Firestick controls. Any suggestions ?

I went through a little different problem with my remote. Evidently, the software failed in updating my remote and after the update had completed, I could only turn my firestick on and off with the remote. When I tried to re-pair the remote with the firestick, I got an alternating red and green light on the remote. I re-paired the remote/firestick several times, then finally got a message that the remote was being updated and not to touch any controls. After that update, it worked fine.
Yep, that sounds about right. Update interruptions can be disastrous. Glad you got it working

Connect to the fire tv app and put the stick and remote in pairing mode. We have videos on how to do this

We can’t figure out how to bring up the guide. We’ve changed batteries and synced. Volume works now but won’t bring up the channel guide to switch channels. Any suggestions?

I have a firestick and have used many years! I have prime video, I have IMDb and freevee on it but I do not get the main page? Either app can not play murder,she wrote? But I purchased ExpressVPN when in Canada or USA will not play says not available at your location! Ok, have tried different US servers? Some will unlock restrictions. You can also use 3rd party apps like cinemaHD to get the shows. We can help on Patreon if you want

Good Evening.. I put new batteries, held the Home button a few times, unhooked the power cord, and nothing seems to work other than using my phone through the app as a remote. I've had this Fire stick for about a 18 months but i really would like to use my remote.. Is it possibly time for a new remote?
It’s rare, but possible that remote just died. If I were you I would upgrade to one of the air mouse ones we’ve reviewed on here. The W3 is my favorite. We even share how to hook it up and a discount code for the adapter and remote.

I had a remote mot get used for awhile and the batteries leaked inside and destroyed it. At the time it wasn't much more money to buy an entirely new firestick, so I did.

I would start by using the fire tv app and forgetting your network and reconnecting. Then you can sync your remote and use it again. Shouldn’t be a hard process

You can Google a compatible model. Usually the codes are similar. Did you try the auto connect?
I occasionally get remote update just a pop up after the fire stick has been off for awhile I don't know what it does it just takes a few seconds..... :)

My fire stick for my TV is stuck on home screen. I download the app for my phone but it's needs me to turn debugging on. I cannot get to setting because it's stuck on home screen. I've tried all the resets amd nothing works. What can I do
Are you saying your tv is frozen, or your remote stopped working? This is a remote fix video. Did you unplug the tv for 60 seconds and plug it back in? Or if you have a firestick (not a tv edition), did you unplug the firestick from power for 60 seconds? We have a whole tutorial on a frozen stick. Not this video.
@Curiosity Cafe I'll check it out. I turn the fire tv on, and the home icon is where it's stuck. It will not move off of the home icon. I can't get to settings to change what I need to so my phone becomes the remote
Yeah, wrong video. Unplug your tv for 60 seconds. Will reset itself
Ok mine stopped I changed batteries. I unplugged the stick from power and tv. I pressed th home button and got the blinking lights. BUT nothing showed on the tv itself
Check your HDMI cord. Might need to be replaced or moved to a different hdmi port

Hi I am having trouble with my remote but it has something else going on. I have tried all of your video fixes 2 or 3 times and here's what it is doing. So here's what it does: It stops working and I tried changing batteries and it works until you shut the tv off. I tried all your fix and some twice each time it worked as the above and always have to put new batteries in each time. I tried resetting from the defaults. So is my remote toast? I am thinking the new batteries work every time until you shut the tv off because the remote is doing something to them. Ever heard of this? Thanks for your help.
If your firestick plugged into the usb on the tv? Or the power outlet with the plug?

Update: contacted Amazon and we went thru all of the steps you show in your video and they were unable to fix. They are sending me a new remote. Just wanted you to know.
My batteries are lasting only 2 days (I'm using Amazon Basics batteries), I did a lot of search, but until now, I dont know how to solve this issue!!
Are you closing your background apps? My guess is you aren’t. They don’t automatically close. We have many videos on it

That usually means it's not connected to the internet. Did you do that first?

I have no light on two of my remotes. Still having trouble sinking them to firestick.
Only reason you wouldn't have a light is if your batteries are dead. I would start there

Not sure, All mine work. Have fixed over 200 fireticks for people. Most issues are either not holding the right buttons correctly or not holding long enough. If you call amazon, they will tell you the same thing, I can't do too much from here, but if you are a patreon member, you can send it to me to fix for you.
Why does my remote show a RED flashing light not green. And it still doesn't work correctly. For example I'll click on the RUclips app and the YT screen will appear. However that is the extent of it. Once the screen pops up it will not let me click on any of the videos. I am stuck on the YT home screen. What is going on, HELP!!! PS: I'm a new subscriber :)
Flashing red means it's not properly connected. I would Un connect and reconnect using the method in our videos. Easy fix with the remote codes (watch that video)

Shouldn't if done properly. Did you try restarting your firestick?
My fire stick must be older. It doesn't have a blinking light and looks different than yours.
Yes there is a much older version. New firesticks are very inexpensive and much better than those older ones

Home button worked to get it mostly paired, but it wouldn't control the volume.. step 3 finished the job 👍🏼

Fantastic! I tried to fix a friend’s Firestick that wasn’t working with their TV any longer. I used instructions found via Google and still no luck. I am sending your video to my neighbor. I helped my neighbor install a new Firestick and everything was great and somehow something weird happened where it was no long synced to the TV. Go figure!
