This draft I don’t agree with. I would value O-line over D-line I would trade down our first overall 12 pick all the way to 20s to pick up a possible second and another third next year. Then draft Jonah left guard from Arizona and with my second pick I’m taking tate Ratledge right guard out of Georgia and still be left with two second round picks to go draft Dline
LT: Braxton Jones - 17th Ranked out of 65 Tackles (75.4 grade) LG: Teven Jenkins - 11th/61 Guards (77.6) C: Coleman Shelton - 10th/29 Centers (68.8) RG: Matt Pryor - 23rd/61 Guards (68.5) RT: Darnell Wright 20th/65 Tackles (74.2) That's our current O line. Our current D line gets zero pressure and isn't built for the NFL. Montez Sweat and Gervon Dexter are all we have.
@@BeardownsportsI’ve got a Glass Joe avatar for Tevin Jenkins. Kiran Amigadge is King Hippo. I’m fine with D-line for 1st Round, but the next two of three had better be O-line.
Wanna put money on it that this is the Bears first pick in the 2025 draft? 😎 Guards and Centers don't go 1st round, especially this high. This draft is stacked at DT
looks like you will be doing many more mock drafts. Bears could win 1 or 2, but losing Billings and Brisker on the defense has hurt bad. And Sweat has been gutting it out on a bum ankle. Looks like top-10 pick. DL with that 1st pick looks good, and the next 2 need to be OL. I wouldnt mind a OT in round #1 though.
I doubt we resign Keenan. I would say they let him go take the comp pick and sign another good young guy. DJ and Rome have shown they'll be a good combo.
Great draft. The biggest flaw is not addressing the S position, which could be corrected by trading Edmunds. I'd try to find someone who plays like the Lions' Brian Branch.
I agree about the S position. I highly doubt Brisker would be the same player. Budda Baker would be my pick. Yes, he will cost a bit more but he’s the engine for that Cardinals’ defense. Between him and Gordon, and a revamped D line we can bring in pressure at a sustainable rate
Here’s my take: #12 Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn St. #40 Trade down for #49 & #98 #43 Tyler Booker, G, Alabama #49 Wyatt Milum, OT, W. Virginia #74 Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State #98 Jordan Burch, DL, Oregon #150 Malachi Moore, S, Alabama My defense: No need to go O-line in Rd. 1 in the top 15. We want interior help the most. That can wait for Rd. 2. Even though Milum is an OT, he and Jones can battle out the tackle position and the runner up can move inside. Booker at guard is the obvious glaring need. Taking Judkins at #74 means I wanna dump Swift. He is not enough counterbalance in the run game to open up the WRs more. Burch and Moore are the BPAs at positions of need from quality schools/conferences. Rounds 6 & 7 are not worth discussing. Go get BPAs.
Adam, I am not a fan of leaving the O-line for the 3rd round at all. That’s where you get the leftover scraps like Kiran Amegadjie and Sedrick Van Pran. Those are the Walmart $5 Bin DVDs of O-linemen. No thank you. Most of the time your analytics are convincing. These three drafts have not been. Sorry bro.
No need to be sorry 🤙 My draft depth knowledge is something I'm proud of. Believe me, if there was a Zach Frazier in this draft, I would go all in. This draft is a D line draft and it's what the Bears are MOST deficient in. Appreciate your feedback 🐻⬇️
Going Defense in the first 2 picks is continuing the SAME old Bears insanity of ignoring blue chip Oline players. We need as many blue chip Olineman as we can get. Tackle and Guard- Braxton is a backup, Kiran and Bates have shown nothing, Tevin is made of Glass and a new Oline coach. Look at our division. You can find a lot more quality Defenders in FA than Oline. Theres a reason why there are almost 0 high end Olineman in FA. You draft and keep into at least a 2nd contact.
Guess that's why I'm here to educate you guys. Look at this DT and Edge class. You will find 1st round talent in the second round with this class. LT: Braxton Jones - 17th Ranked out of 65 Tackles (75.4 grade) LG: Teven Jenkins - 11th/61 Guards (77.6) C: Coleman Shelton - 10th/29 Centers (68.8) RG: Matt Pryor - 23rd/61 Guards (68.5) RT: Darnell Wright 20th/65 Tackles (74.2) Now where does our defensive line and pressure rank? We have two starting caliber players on the defensive line, Montez Sweat, and Gervon Dexter. That is it
@@BeardownsportsHere to "educate" Very pretentious of you. You can spout someone else's Oline analytics but my eyes tell a different story. Top priority is protecting our franchise QB. Continue to build in front of him with blue chip talent. If the draft is as deep at Dline prospects as I've heard then get one or two after the 1st round.
The same Austin Booker that needs to continue to develop and is one of the worst edges on the NFL right now? Long shot prospect at this point We need blue chip
Adam Mason I really like your content, but I do think it is way too early to be mock drafting. Sorry to tell you that the draft picks you are drafting are all wrong for the very fact if the Bears would have drafted differently last year and the year before. We would have not needed a DT if the Bears picked Carter instead of Wright. I know everyone's position on the picks but we would have a run stopping DL who is better at this point in time in his career. His numbers are way better that Dexter. Then the Bears could have drafted J.M. Schmitz at C and moved Whitehair to the RG position and picked up a RT in free agency. The line could have been Jones, Jenkins, Schmitz, Whitehair and a Free Agent RT in 2023. Sorry but Davis and Wright likely would not be on the team like in all wars there are casualties. If I was Poles in 2024 my OL would have been Jones, Jenkins, Schmitz, Free Agent RG and Amegadjie. So in this mock draft you woud not be in need of any DL. Then you could easily go after that EDGE/DE the Bears truly need to solidify the DL.
We got Darnell Wright (which was a HUGE need) Tory Taylor and we picked up Big Dex at 56. Dex is not Jalen Carter but there was less risk and the comparison is actually closer than people realize. John Michael Schmitz sucks. He's nowhere near as good as Coleman Shelton
The Bears are 4 - 7 into a 17 game schedule. You only have six more of these to do. Does it sound sarcastic?? Given their tendency to lose to.500 or better teams, the only opportunity for a win is against San Fran is week 14. So maybe you'll only have to doit five more times. I enjoy your drafts incidentally, it's just a shame there are so many of them.
Thanks, Mr Mason. Agreed, draft is long ways away. You put in a lot of work, thanks Adam
It's fun, but it is a lot of work

You will not get sawyer in 2nd. Best to get interior o-lineman with both 2nd's. Your 1st round pick is exactly what bears need.

There's so many Defensive studs in this class. We can snag one in the early 2nd
15m a year for Keenan, you're smoking that gas.
First two picks are Dline? Ok but we need to prioritize Oline. I’m not sure about this one.

I like Nolen and Sawyer. I'm really hoping we can re sign Jenkins and i really think Stromberg can be a very good center
I think with Jenkins injury history we could get it done early and at a decent price.
Can't be worse than Nate Davis contract for a top tier player

If we sign someone big in free agency, which we should, Allen leaving wouldn't equate to a comp pick
I prefer Kenneth Grant over Nolen.
Don't dislike Kenneth Grant, but he's not Walter Nolen
Good backup option if Nolen gets taken top 10, which he might

he is not gonna be there at 12

This is an extremely respectable draft with good reasoning
They need o line depth but it doesn't make sense to have so many rookies on the same unit also assuming FA additions
Assuming Free Agency. This was meant to be trenches only to fix the needs.
