Been using my leaf blower to dry my car after washing for years. Streak free and great at getting the water out of cracks and crevices like mirrors and wheel lug nut holes.
Can’t thank you enough! Cleaned the carburetor on my 5 hp BS chipper. I’ve never worked on motors before besides the basics. Cleaned the jets and bell, etc. tried starting it up last night, no go. This morning it fired on the first pull! I followed all your instructions and they were RIGHT ON! This motor hasn’t been started in 18 years! ITS ALIVE! Thanks Steve.
I've been using mine for yrs, that way, in fact everything that your doing I've been doing for yrs. & if you have the end attchment that is flat at the end, you can also use it to move the heavy snow as well, doesn't work well on ice, but throw the salt down wait a bit & it will throw the ice as well... Our daughter seen how I did our home, truck, & walkways she went & got hers out of storage, & she Loves it....
Steve, the leafblowers work great. I have a parking area about 20' x 80' and steep driveway, both all gravel so I can't use a snow blower. I go down the driveway about 100' (as far as the extension cord will reach, LOL) I've been using my leaf blower to clear the areas for about 14 years now and love using it. Works best with dry, powder snow but the wet stuff can be a pain in the arse. Like your demo, works great on the car and truck as well.
I'm surprised my neighbors have not found this hack! I've been using high powered leaf blower to blow snow and dry my car for several years now. Saves my back and heartt! Keys is not to wait until snow has hardened or accumulated too thick.
Steve I've been doing that for decades my favorite blower is the bg55 and the bg85 Stihl no longer in production they been replaced by cheaper units I'm a factory certified technician for Stihl johndeere and other manufacturers including Briggs & kohler ,been servicing and repairing equipment for just under 40 years , In my daily chats with customers you'd be surprised how many of them don't understand the theory of operation using a leaf blower handheld or backpack for clearing powdery snow it works wonderful as long as you check your wind direction
I Tried this for the 1st time a week ago, works great on the deck and cars, But be careful where you hold the blower as I was doing the roof on the Tahoe, not knowing I placed my hand too close to the muffler and burnt a hold in my gloves. Thanks Steve keep up the good work!
Your in VANC Island! Hello from Calgary, I really enjoy your content and I’m a subscriber. We are darned cold this week. Using the blower is great! Great for dry snow. But the best is saving me from the back aches when using the shovel. I do my drive way, deck and sidewalk. Keep up the good content! I have learned a lot from you. And I will try Grolsch. Take care!
We don't get snow in south Arkansas but I use my blower to dry my motorcycles after washing them. It drys the nooks and crannies way better than a towel. Great video.
That is nice that the leaf blower can be used to blow dry snow, but probably would not work too well here in the South where when we do get snow it is the wet snow.
Oh yeah! been doin that for years. We got a littl snow up here on the tug hill plateau upstate ny Saturday too. Still can’t dust the sleds off. It’s been intermittent cold this winter and our snow melts and ground thaws. Makes money hard to get when working in the woods
@@wilpresswil My FAV is Heineken. It tastes like beer did when I was growing up. Like it should. But when it comes down to it, there's only 3 beers that are my favorites. Bottled, canned and draft. All else can't come close.
Steve ,, your awsome man ,love your videos, been watching for a long time,, I have a Husqvarna hand held blower , but man life would be complete for me if I had a backpack blower !!! I'm 60 yrs old if only I could afford one even a good used one ,, I try an do a few leaf cleanups this time of year, anyway love your show brother !!
Hey Steve, yes I’ve use that when we lived in Colorado 20 years ago still works good here in Minnesota, and I haven’t seen Lucky lacquer since I was in the service in Montana wow
Absolutely!!! I've been using my Echo leaf blower for years to remove snow. When you have that light powdery stuff it cleans off the vehicles better than anything. It even works on the walkways and driveway. What amazes me the most is that it starts so easily when the temperature is in the teens. :-)
Same. It leaves a completely clean sidewalk. When the snow melts the sidewalk is completely dry and no chance of ice forming if the temperature drops. If someone walks on the sidewalk before blowing, residue of each step is left, leaving an artistic looking path.
Hi Steve. I use my Kobalt battery powered blower on my deck also. I had a Craftsman gas blower for many years and I finally had to play taps for it last year.I bought the battery powered blower to try and it really works much better than I thought it would. I will probably buy a gas blower soon but not a Craftsman. We had a very mild winter so far here in Pennsylvania and I'm not complaining. Thanks for all your video's Steve. Always good to learn new tips. You done good, have a beer.
Before I left the California mountains I heard of this. But we had to go to New Jersey (ugh!) for 3.5 years. Back there the snow is humid like everything else. But it was worth a try. Later I was blest to return to my California Sierras.
If you want to gain power on that Steve if it's got a 15 mm exhaust Outlet you can draw it out to 5/16 diameter Also during winter time like a snowblower remove the two piece air filter and then I use yamalube 2R 2 stroke oil at 4 ounces per gallon and put in a cj6 Champion spark plug non resistor and readjust the carburetor to compensate for lack of air filter and you'll get a lot more machine power
That's a wonderful tip Steve, problem is I don't get any snow down here. But you never know when a freak snowstorm will come along so I will be prepared.
From Manitoba I would say not getting snow is not the worst thing in the world. However without it, It would be hard to ride your snowmobile or go skiing.
I keep an EGO blower hanging inside the garage door (USA NE) just for the right condition, and for the constant flow of leaves trying to storm the garage. Anything cold and dry; like and up to about a Grolsch is doable on the walks and car access. Thanks Steve.
PT cruiser? Steve ....i dunno dude 😱😱....I have been backpack snow blowing my vehicles, sidewalks, decks, even a path for my oil delivery guy for many years...it truly is a great idea for dry snow....guess i gotta add a cup holder for my beer next! Yoooooooo!
Steve, thank you for your leaf blower test. November is leaf wars where I live and I’ve been battling with my excellent Stihl handheld blower, but it was really a chore. I bought the Stihl 600 backpack blower and I have made the leaves cry uncle. My neighbors thank you also as I have had plenty of spare time to blow the leaves from their yards and several drainage ditches, etc. I also use it for snow but I have a snowblower that works better. But for light snow the blowers work great. Especially on wooden decks that shouldn’t be shoveled.
I have the Stihl KM-130R kombi with a few attachments. I only use the leaf blower in the winter. Great for light snow and the deck, especially my 3/4 truck and a few of my neighbours trucks. Love the beer ruler. lol
I have a landscape company in Winnipeg when the conditions are right the back blower takes hours off our day (and our customers love when their car gets blown off to)
Steve, one of the guys we pull tractors with duct taped a leaf blower to the hood of his case tractor hooked to the air intake. He calls it his polish turbo, said it really helps
Hey Stevo , good idea with the leaf blower ! We have been doing that all winter with ours . Plenty of snow to blow off here too since Susan and I now drive 4 PT cruisers ! Yup 4 ! Best cars ever built . Best kept secret . We love them
The green screen background threw me for a loop. Felt like I was watching an MS Teams conference call presentation lol. Still going to try this with my BR430C this coming winter.

Hey Steve while I have used that snow blowing trick off and on a few times I always worried if I was doing some kind of damage from the dry snow being sucked in through the leaf blower and possibly rusting or damaging certain parts am I doing any harm to my snowblower if I use it to blow off my walks and driveway but the drifting snow or blowing snow gets sucked through the blower thanks for your time I always wondered about this Simon oh and Happy New Year to

Like the way you measure snow. Bought my BG50 just to keep my boats cleaned off here in NS.

Heat and hurricane speed wind work great on snow!!❤
Don’t know if it works better than a broom or shovel but definitely looks like it’s more fun.

I always specify that when I sell leaf blowers. Thanks for the video Steve👍
You're Welcome...
Steve you are a genius. You have saved me from a big fat heart attach with all your tips. Thank you!!!
You're Welcome...
yep iv done that for years works great
Right on....
Great idea, I wouldn't have ever thought of using a blower! Thanks for the tip!!

Oh Steve it looks like someone stole your car and replaced with a PT cruiser. That must have been a nasty suprise when you blew that show off. 🚗😁😂
I do this all the time with my big Echo BPB. What a time saver!

Welcome Steve I’ve been doing it for 7 years. 🌬
Yes a PT Cruiser! I have had 8 foot landscaping timbers in our PT Cruiser with everything closed up.
Awesome...
Like to see it move 70+ cm that Newfoundland is getting. You guys out west got it so easy.
I wish it snowed in central Florida so I could try that.
Cyberdyan52 will send you some😁
Worked a bit better than I figured. Must have been light fluffy snow. Great idea. Thanks for the video.
You're Welcome...
Awesome video 👍 I use my blower more than anything to clear snow. My neighbors think I crazy but I have a clear driveway
Right on....
Cool video but can't use that great idea in Lugoff SC!!! LOL WE ARE IN SHORTS AND T-SHIRTS!
Thanks Steve can't wait for your next video
Great idea ( Beer ). snow melts, give it a little time 👍
Hey Steve, yes I’ve use that when we lived in Colorado 20 years ago still works good here in Minnesota, and I haven’t seen Lucky lacquer since I was in the service in Montana wow
We got one of those BR600s at work a few years ago for blowing tractors off, best wayt to do it, great for the sidewalk as well.

I use my Echo PB-755 mostly for snow. It cleans better and my concrete dries faster after the sun comes out.
Yes done it years a go but like you say its only good if its fresh snow.
You need the flare nozzle to get under snow clumps. More snow than leaves here :) My neighbour uses only the Stihl backpack for shovelling.
hi Steve great video i wish it snowed here in stockton california.me and my kids would love it.

I've been using them for this purpose for a couple years.

Steve thanks for all you do. We need a two maybe three beer live stream😜
I now have a new way of Measuring the snow Depth . Pure Genius . Gday Aye .
Right on buddy...
Since i got Husqvarna 580bts backblower in Dec 2015 we had less 10mm snow here where i am in UK
I use my br800c I’m in Michigan. Works on ice if you can get air under it to pop it up.
Don't think will work on snow getting now & later today & sunday.
I use mine to clear dry snow off my firewood stacks. Works great.
Right on....
My buddy clears all the cars off at his mechanic shop this way. He loves it!
Right on....
Its amazing how much snow we got. Got alot here in courtenay. And they say more is coming tonight
DOHHHH.......
I've been wondering about this, thanks for the inspiration to actually do it!!
Go for it!
that is the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Our snow in PA yesterday was wet and frozen. I had to use the power washer.
priceless and no paint damage!! LOL

This is a a roll here in Edmonton Steve but I put a metal spatula in the front of the air cilinder of my ✋ blower to pick compact snow . Cheers
Great idea...
I approve of the beer can/bottle measuring system.

Happy New Year! Nice beard my friend! Always learn a bunch from you and save a bunch of $ because of it. Thanks.
Thank You...and You're Welcome...
Nice job sir. Surprised you did use the backpack for car & deck.
Opps meant didn't not did.
Do you have to take out the air filter and switch to summer mode? On these backpack blowers when using it in winter?
I wonder if the blower would melt ice on a windshield?? -- Great vid.
Could do with some of that white stuff in the UK. Hardly see snow over here anymore in the winter.
I want to try that this winter. Do I need to do anything to the leaf blower to keep it from icing up?
I have used a mower before I got mixed results
A quick and fun way to clear light and fluffy snow off your car, steps, etc, great video Steve!
Thank You...
Cool man!👍👍👍
Thank You...
A good ideal and safe on the paint and wipers
Thank You...
How about a quick mention in some of your new videos about that tunning (setting) disc for carb setting. Nobody seems to know how to use one.
Looks funner than shovelling
Tried using our blower to dry up the vast amount of water we have been getting in the UK (your snow is melting in the mid Atlantic) since September. They don't dry wet up very well.
Hi Steve.
The bottle of beer is called a stubby in Australia the 375 mil ones abd the 750 mil ones are called long ranges ( sounds better than just plain bottles).

was thinking of filling up a powerful STIHL (or other) 2T sprayer with some *hot* (not boiling to not destroy anything) water or/and whatever non-toxic substance in it to see what happens.. if it's any better than dry blowing the snow..

Nice. Now I have a reason for a blower here in Montana. Beer this Guy!
Thank You...
Just had to mention Steve even though it looked like you might be cold outside those Lite weight Steve’s small engine saloon shirts are heavy duty and I bet you were still warm, I bought a couple and just love them, they are good quality. 👍🍻
Thanks Johnny, I appreciate that....
Cool.
I got to get myself one of those. My nabors might be crooked at me if I started up a 2 stroke at 7 am. Lol. Might try it for a grin. Lol
I'm in Clarkes beach, Newfoundland. I'll have about 70 plus centimeters to move tomorrow morning. What size do you recommend? Lol
Good job.
If it snows in lower Alabama we us the garden hose ( use high jet stream of water dah)
the only time I want to see snow, is on TV. Gotta love Alabama weather in the winter!
Still the man! Videos never disappoint!👍
Thank You...
Were you live buddy. Gary from Colfax WV. It never snows in WV any more.
Excellent Thinking Stevie, I, guess that comes with a sip of Beer,
Cheers Steve! Have a chainsaw that won't run right due to the gas cap not venting properly. A friend has the same problem. How do we fix the cap, and is this common? Thanks and keep the hits rolling. Out!
worked in MN and MT but not here in WA. too wet and doesnt last long.
Thanks I need it
You know what type working equipment to buy but not cars
Still a fan
