- It's been too long since we've done any competitive sailing! Now we're back in the RS 200 doing some informal sprint racing and it was great fun.
The race format is simple. Gate start, windward - leeward, two laps. Regroup and go again.
Sailing is limited to same household teams, no official start time or organisation, just go out and sail against whoever
Fantastic video and makes HISC look like it's in the Caribbean.
Your lucky to have a partner to sail with, we have a little girl now so the wife can’t come and play, don’t think she would even if she could 😂. We haven’t had any racing yet. But have our first taste this weekend with a time trail fastest lap wins but with not having a crew I have been sailing my Comet Trio single handed. I must say it has been fun got some 3 sail planing reaches even with a reef in the main. Capsized twice on Sunday as I don’t have even hands some times but getting used to doing it all myself, with the help of a bungee wrapped round the tiler.
Happy sailing mate another good video.
Time to divorce the wife and marry a good strong crew. God help the apres sail. Who knows. you might enjoy it.
Good work recording and excellent commentary!
Ive always wondered how you get your wind, speed and distance data on your video..... hiw do you do that?
I am out on my lark this weekend. Thank you for the inspiration:-)
I love this boat. Great sailing. Good boat speed , wow.
I love RS 400 more...
Great vid, how come the jib says RS800 on it?
It's from the endeavour trophy, where national champions represent their class racing rs200s. We represented the rs800s back in 2018.
Awesome fun , don’t forget to introduce the crew ! 🙄
Crew is my wife, Emma
What's your combined crew weight? Trying to think of a boat I can sail with my wife. At 145kg, would be too heavy for the 200? Having sailed a 400 quite a bit with another bloke, I know we're too light for that!
We're about 140. 145 would be okay, we were probably that last year and won events in a mix of conditions. I've seen them sailed fast above that.
I think 135 is about optimum.
@@MozzySails Cheers for that. I'd love an 800 but there's no fleet this side of the Irish Sea!
Mozzy, Do you use a remote for your cameras? I bought one recently and it’s a bit unreliable, was wondering if you had any recommendations
I don't have a remote, just set them recording and that's it. The GoPro doesn't have great battery though, which is frustrating. Being able to stop it and save battery would be good. But the flip side is if the remote isn't reliable you might not be able to switch it back on! Many don't get goos reviews. If you find a reliable one please let me know 👍
Yo Mozzy love the vids, I would love to try a RS800... I'm local to you please shoot me a message if you think it's something we could organise?
join the HISC RS800 group, I'm sure we can hook you up with a sail once the social distancing rules relax
