I agree I am the same age and was there but ONE thing I noticed that was NOT a thing was saying "literally" after everything. My only complaint! That is for sure a new internet thing hahaha

Maya Erskine is a really good actress. Like she had a lot of pretty dramatic moments in Pen15 that she handled wonderfully. I hope she gets more roles.
Anna Konkle as well. They are great and have great range.

I will miss this show. I was a Japanese translator once and so the episode with the Japanese cousin when Maya said completely made up words had me ROLLINGGGGGG!

The episode about mayas mom was my favorite. Delicious show. They touched on every detail of our childhood
I was so moved by that episode-Yuki. Incredibly touching and made me feel "seen".

I am not even American and this show made my 13 year old self feel seen. It was incredibly well made, I will be using it as an example for teenage shows to come
I love how realistically uncomfortable it is. That was how most of my childhood felt. Horribly uncomfortable lol!
Pen15 was such an amazing show! I hope they continue to collaborate on projects. That finale had me on a rollercoaster of emotions tearing up lol
I think this show was brilliant. I love the premise of these adults playing young kids. I found the show totally by accident and it became a little addictive. Loved it!!!!

The beauty of the show isn't just that it nails 2000 so perfectly, but that it nails growing pangs so perfectly, in a totally timeless way.

This show felt like a fever dream. Like it felt like i was there. 💜 the awkwardness and immature false sense of maturity was perfectly represented in these 2 seasons.

Just finished the last episode. I’m so sad it’s over. It was so funny. I loved it so much.
i never felt more seen in a tv show. i'm half asian/white like maya and i was basically one of the few asian people in school at that age and i felt so fucking ugly just like she did. i acted just like her, bratty and upset at the world and myself (and not to mention, i was also weird as hell and also barely had any friends too). it hurt so bad to watch it but i felt so much relief that im not the only one.
Can not wait to see what these two brilliant people do next!
I had that "appliance" thing, too. I was swallowing wrong. My tongue, instead of spreading against the roof of my mouth and spacing out my upper palate, it was straining against the back of my front teeth, pushing them forward. I had to learn from a therapist how to swallow correctly against the top of my mouth. Then, once I had practiced for weeks, they put a spacing bar across the top making everything I just learned impossible.
Best show ever!!! Really hope they decide to continue it 😢

This show was a replica almost of mine and my childhood best friends lives. It brought many tears and moments of bursting out laughter. Every detail is perfect. I had so many of the same clothes and outfits. Thank you for awakening my memories of my sweet childhood ❤
We all know they're in their 30s. But... wow... so weird seeing and hearing them as for-real grown ups!

This was a great interview. Seth was funny and sweet and Anna and maya are just fantastic. They capture a poignant part of my adolescence in such a great way. They’re so funny and relatable and real. I love everything about them and the show. I’m rewatching it now ahead of my 32nd bday next month (makes me wanna cry saying that lol) bc it’s a perfect form of comfort and nostalgia of those pivotal years ❤ so grateful for them. Love to see real people and not contrived overplayed and overpaid fake celebs. True talent and comedy.

Oh my god did you hear Ana when maya was telling about her mom saying she has short legs. Ana said .I love your legs” and it made it so clear they their relationship is so similar to how it is in the show. Maya feeling bad and Ana unconditionally supporting her. Amazing

I wanted braces so badly growing up... my dentist said I didn't need them technically so he never referred me and my dad kept telling me I should be so lucky to not have to deal with it. But I still wanted them- mainly because I wanted the colorful rubber bands...
Same! Everyone seemed to have braces. And it just looked fun and colorful and interesting. But like you, I never really got referred for braces. They were like eehhh you could get them to fix these minor problems if you wanted to, and my mom said no. I was crushed!!

I love them but when they keep looking at each other as they are talking supposedly to us, it can be distracting and very annoying, I do hope their films are better than that cause I'm very hesitant to buy them with this going on.
