I like the idea of bringing in real life truckers to talk too. I don't think it should be every video, but every now and then and with different people from around the world. I'd really like that!
Such a great idea to have a truck driver (ideally one with loads of experience) to talk with you during the stream. Perhaps he/she could critique the game and tell some interesting trucking stories along the way! I know that I would love that.
Congrats Paul on your Twitch partnership, you earned it...A guest would be a great idea, the idea of listening to a real trucker from around the world every now and then,or even a series of them, and their real life truck driving sounds a lot of fun indeed and is something I'd really look forward to...
I bought Scania Truck Driving Simulator on Steam in October 2014 and you're right, it is scary. Anyone who needs help with reversing should try this game. You can practise doing the challenges which you can repeat if you like. You're right Paul it does give you a lot of skills.
Squirrel, from my personal experience I can assure that listening to a real-life trucker talk about things related to their job is really amusing and I reckon it would bring more viewers to this series! You know what to do to get Squirrel to see this!
In the US gas like gas used for heating and cooking is usually called Propane Gas or just Propane, not sure if there are other names for it here but that's what I use to run the stove as well as heating water.
I can't I'm afraid. I use Steam and updates it automatically. Just go to the eurotrucksimulator2 website, click on "Download" then click on the link to the patches. Download and run the patches to bring it up to 1.3.1
The reason why trailer mods replace other trailers is because the mods are just visual replacements, not a full package. The modder would have to model the hit box, etc in order for that to work (assuming the game would allow it), as well as all the parameters (such as weight, locations it is picked up, locations for drop off, etc.)
Theres Propane BBQS which use a tank and theres Natural Gas line BBQs which use the same fuel as a gas stove or your indoor heating. Propane can be used for indoor heating as well.
I wouldn't mind the Co-Driver for every now and then for a short period of time, but personally I like the commentary that you produce while talking to yourself a little bit more
Congrats on partnership, you might remember me from the stream, i brought up the subject on that Twitch wouldn't partner you, and the one on consoles being able to stream, but that's great man :D
I like your idea of having real live truckers in to get a hands on viewpoint. I like that very much. My father drove truck in the twenties and thirties; I recall an incident where a Model A car drove in front of him through a certain geographical area. It seems to vanish when he got outside of that area. After questioning other truckers that took that same route; some of them had also seen the "mystical Model A" only when passing through hat same area.
Hey man...i'm from montreal, canada....i like ur contents, it calms me! My father's best friend as a fleet of about 30 trucs in New Brunswick, travels Canada and USA, always liked and wondered how it felt ! nice job man !
I now have the demo and have a BIG problem. I can't play the game because my computer is going a slower level than the game so time, fatigue, and traffic lights are quicker than me so I 1 get late to quick, 2 get sleepy quickly, 3 the traffic lights change too quickly, and 4 my game lags and my graphics are bad. YOU make euro truck fun and I can't play it. That is why I watch you.
In the US it goes like this: 'gas' can mean the state of matter (most commonly natural gas, propane, butatne, etc) or the petroleum distillate (gasoline). Gasoline (of the unleaded variety nowadays) is what you put in cars, diesel is what you put in trucks. Petrol could also include things like kerosene, heating oil (diesel w/o dyes & road taxes), etc. It's a broad term, but language is more about agreed upon meaning than technical accuracy.
In my own "research" profile I forced the driver to get that tired, that he just faded out for a second...the screen went black and you were still driving... and even though it's just a game it showed me pretty good how dangerous it could be to drive while beeing tired!
I believe gas is correct because it is a contraction of gasoline, which is the mixture of hydrocarbons used in most cars. Petrol would be a shortening of petroleum, which is the unrefined hydrocarbon that we drill up.
I think the trucker idea is briliant, im not a trucker but ive known some and ive tried to drive a longnose Kenworth, like you had posted, and it had a 35 or so foot trailer, its tough as fuck to reverse it when you have no idea how it works to work these monsters. I drive a 2013 Nissan GT-R R35 Black Edition as my daily driver and its a lot easier to drive that. What you always have to remember when you drive an 18-wheeler is that you have a lot of weight pushing you forwards so when you hit t
If you look at all the fuel pumps, petrol is all marked as Unleaded, it doesnt actually say Petrol even though we call it that, So its Diesel and unleaded.
I've always thought that in games like this, you'd often see the same vehicles or trailers repeated in a short span as a means of saving resources. Less variety means less assets the game has to have loaded at any given time.
Id love to hear you try and say "Benzine" :P its dutch for petrol.. gasoline. And congrats on the partnership with twitch, now i can watch your stream in 720P :D
Concerning the co-driver idea, it sounds interesting. But I think most people do of course come here for your commentary and personality, so having another person in a video would require them to be interesting, talkative and synergize with you well. All I can say is, give it a trying run of a few episodes and if it doesn't catch on then so be it :)
You can edit scs file to remove limiter if you feel safe editing that. Also there is a headlight mod at scs forum that brightens headlights of AI in mirrors..
I think it would be even better if your co-driver can watch you drive somehow so that they are also able to interact with the environment verbally/ visually.
Hi Paul, I'm a big fan of your trucking vids. Related to the petrol problem in Ireland where I'm from we do say petrol and diesel but we say diesel with a funny accent, "daysel"
I think having a co-driver would be nice, but not or every episode. I like having just you. Maybe just do it on special occasions, or alternate; like one solo, one duo, one solo, one duo, etc.
Petrol(ium) is a very broad term, where gas is short for gasoline. It's the same with soccer and football isn't it? Football is a very broad term which covers a lot of sports where soccer is short for association football. I wouldn't worry to much about it squirrel.
Squirrel petrol is a refined product after diesel. If we call petrol and diesel are same then tar, paraffin should be same. Petrol and diesel have different properties
football (UK), American Football (USA), Aussie Rules (Australia). it's not really a broad term but it covers more than what ever football may mean in your homeland.
I think in Germany we have the easiest solution for this problem of seperatin all of this... Diesel=Diesel Gas=Benzin and as you said Propane=Gas ... maybe a bit confusing for you as things are mixed but its seperated this way!
yes and the thing squirrel was talking about the slang term "Gas" is short for Gasoline and the but the word Gas is technically meaning a Gas like substance such as oxygen and propane. so americans need to call it Gasoline instead of Gas to be correct.
I love the idea of the Co-driver! But I think you can mix it up and alternate people do you can get different sides! I think that would be really original!
Hi Paul. Just watching a few of your old videos. That bayobab tree, lmao. Cant believe you managed to finish the delivery. Did u never bring a trucker in for your longer journeys? I think it would be interesting to hear from a proper trucker, as long as we still get to hear your dulcet tones
parrrrrrdooon!!!!!!!!! meen je dat!! netherlands has good gas prices ! good road trips squirrel! 1time you should edit in music wile driving on roads and like singing along with them and drive as well
thats not accurate. Perhaps near you, but to categorize the whole country that way would be incorrect. Most people don't even know what diesel is because they're dumb, but those who do call it Diesel. We have Diesel, Gasoline, and Propane (another refined gas) for grilling (Barbecue). The last part was for any in other countries who don't know what we call it. They say gas, which is a little too generic (like saying petrol) there are many types of gases.
It might be interesting to invite a truckker on TS... but what you should do first is check if their voice isn't weird somehow so we will understand everything and it would be purely awesome!!!
Diesel and petrol are both made from petroleum in a process called Cracking. Cracking shortens the chains thus making petrol and diesel. Diesel has a longer chain then petrol this is why it is less combustible. #gcsescience
Great vids Squirrel. How about instead of co-drivers you call them hitchhikers, you can conduct mini interviews during certain sections of the journey. Drivers, engineers, developers and maybe even your fans could be utilised, and if you could Skype them in live during a stream it would be epic! coul
I think the german way is the best :P "Gas" is gas, like methan or propane, "Benzin" is what you call gasoline or petrol because it is the chem. term for it and "Diesel" is diesel because it is diesel :)
ArmA 3 is coming. I've been streaming it. Now I'm partnered on Twitch I could reasonably send over the highlights to RUclips (in 720p).
I like the idea of bringing in real life truckers to talk too. I don't think it should be every video, but every now and then and with different people from around the world. I'd really like that!
Gasoline for normal cars. Diesel for, well, diesel engines. The barbecue you were talking about, we call propane and for the lighters, we have butane.
Aaaww, old versions of ETS2...where you can lost €400 every 10 seconds for speed :D
Such a great idea to have a truck driver (ideally one with loads of experience) to talk with you during the stream. Perhaps he/she could critique the game and tell some interesting trucking stories along the way! I know that I would love that.

Congratulations on the final partnership! I remember being in streams back in December! I'm glad you've finally got it.
I bought Scania Truck Driving Simulator on Steam in October 2014 and you're right, it is scary. Anyone who needs help with reversing should try this game. You can practise doing the challenges which you can repeat if you like. You're right Paul it does give you a lot of skills.

You know what to do to get Squirrel to see this!
I agree. I would have to go through some steps first to make sure it would work.
Download and run the patches to bring it up to 1.3.1
I a from St Helens and used to live in Billinge which is very close to Wigan so, yeah I've heard of them both ;)
Although I enjoy your vids as they are I think having someone who does this for a living chatting about trucks etc might be interesting. Worth a try.
The reason why trailer mods replace other trailers is because the mods are just visual replacements, not a full package. The modder would have to model the hit box, etc in order for that to work (assuming the game would allow it), as well as all the parameters (such as weight, locations it is picked up, locations for drop off, etc.)

My dad was a truck driver in the US for a few years. I rode with him for 2 weeks and we traveled to about 25-30 states from ohio to texas :)
Congrats on partnership, you might remember me from the stream, i brought up the subject on that Twitch wouldn't partner you, and the one on consoles being able to stream, but that's great man :D

An american here: Petrol= Gasoline (gas) Cylinder barbecue cans (Propane Gas or Propane) and diesel fuel. I think we have it correct :)
I love your videos squirrel! Keep it coming ! I love your ideas about having real life truckers and the twitch one. And put your beacons on !
Aha the times when squirrel swore a few times in a video. He seems to behave himself now ;D

Petrol is a Generic term as well I think, as we have Diesel and Unleaded fuel in the UK
Me and you are pure English genious we know gas is incorrect
What "doesn't feel right" might be the fact that you were staying with the 4x2.
A real life trucker would be awesome to hear stories, or even a friend of yours that plays the game and just discussing different topics
In my own "research" profile I forced the driver to get that tired, that he just faded out for a second...the screen went black and you were still driving... and even though it's just a game it showed me pretty good how dangerous it could be to drive while beeing tired!
Who else is coming back n watching this in 2017? I still remember when this was uploaded haha
Yes! I am. Thought I was the only one.
Robert Tarcea me too
DaGoldenWolf I am!
I only found this in 2017
I believe gas is correct because it is a contraction of gasoline, which is the mixture of hydrocarbons used in most cars. Petrol would be a shortening of petroleum, which is the unrefined hydrocarbon that we drill up.
Well I'm not saying I would do it all the time, just now and again to mix things up a little. I'll probably try it and see how it works out.
I think the trucker idea is briliant, im not a trucker but ive known some and ive tried to drive a longnose Kenworth, like you had posted, and it had a 35 or so foot trailer, its tough as fuck to reverse it when you have no idea how it works to work these monsters. So not all the power is being delivered to the wheels? Where is it going then? Surely it's not a traction issue
All PC specs are on my Twitch page
Co-driver (or side kick) sounds interesting, at least once in a while but really I enjoy just listening to you.
Congrats on the partnership squirrel!
It's petral because gas is a smoke witch can be set on light where as petral is a liquid with can also be set a light, plus petral is more fancy
3:48 OH... RIGHT! I forgot that you don't hear us for a minute there.
Co Driver: Not on EVERY vid, but like a once in a while thing YEAH!!
Must be a real life trucker tho man. Epic.
this is why i love this the small differences is great the little things are what makes life great
If you look at all the fuel pumps, petrol is all marked as Unleaded, it doesnt actually say Petrol even though we call it that, So its Diesel and unleaded.
I've always thought that in games like this, you'd often see the same vehicles or trailers repeated in a short span as a means of saving resources. Less variety means less assets the game has to have loaded at any given time.
well done on your twitch partnership! it's been a long time coming
Id love to hear you try and say "Benzine" :P its dutch for petrol.. gasoline. And congrats on the partnership with twitch, now i can watch your stream in 720P :D
co driver sounds like it's worth a try. also Canadians say propane & butane. love the trucking trips, keep it up.
In Australia we say Petrol. "Gas "is LP Gas or LPG. mainly used by our Taxi's and some car's that people get converted
i must have that MAN is looking brilliant
nice customizing Squirrel :)
Getting a co-driver in could be good to do, although you'll really have to watch out for trolls.
.
Squirrel, sometimes we call propane gas too in the US, so gas can be a wide or broad subject too.
Speaking to real life truck drivers is fantastic idea love your thinking squirrel !!
Wow i'm learning the time you upload just clicked on youtube and boom uploaded 5 minutes ago :P
Co-Driver sounds interesting, getting different perspectives from drivers around the world, I would certainly volunteer for it
In Brazil we call it by the name. Gasolina (Gasoline), Diesel and Alcool (Alchool). Gás for us means kitchen gas. GNV is for Vehicular Gas.
That would require my life to be organised and predictable =)
How awesome would that be..
In my opinion, having a Co-Driver who is a real life trucker would be really fun to watch.
For the car that was going slow you should have gone on the shoulder it may be unrealistic and a bit bumpy but it would have been worth it
squirrel i noticed the trucks handle better with double drive axles... more power seems to be working. and its raining on a single dual axle
You can edit scs file to remove limiter if you feel safe editing that. Also there is a headlight mod at scs forum that brightens headlights of AI in mirrors..
I have the G27 Steering wheel and it is amazing, if you could find one for a decent price i would highly recommend it. Grate video as always
Time to check out his VoD's then. Thanks!
I think it would be even better if your co-driver can watch you drive somehow so that they are also able to interact with the environment verbally/ visually.
Squirrel: Get the slowest truck and get the Heavy trailer mod and the biggest load you can find.
Hi Paul, I'm a big fan of your trucking vids. Related to the petrol problem in Ireland where I'm from we do say petrol and diesel but we say diesel with a funny accent, "daysel"
yea the co-driver thing is a good idea you should implemented,it sound pretty fun
I like the co pilot idea
Heya another great vid i like the idea of having a second voice in your drives would be well worth a go at least :)
Great episode as usual!
As soon as you said it started to rain in the game, it also started to rain in my town.
He does it every now and then man. He actually did one like 5 days ago!
I think having a co-driver would be nice, but not or every episode. I like having just you. Maybe just do it on special occasions, or alternate; like one solo, one duo, one solo, one duo, etc.

I would like this just like it is now, without co-driver. And please do longer episodes than 28 minutes :)
That's exactly like Sheldon Cooper. Like how he does laundry on Saturday nights.
I love the idea of the Co-driver! But I think you can mix it up and alternate people do you can get different sides! I think that would be really original!
Petrol and diesel are both hydrocarbons -with the same general formula- except diesel is a larger molecule.
it is the gearbox, it sucks at going uphill in this game, using the sequential gearbox (just bind 2 keys on the joystick) would solve it
In Denmark we call petrol for Benzin and Diesel for Diesel.
About the trucker, I think it would be a great idea.
I've always been curious about what truckers do because it sounds like a brutal job
Hi Paul. Just watching a few of your old videos. That bayobab tree, lmao. Cant believe you managed to finish the delivery. Did u never bring a trucker in for your longer journeys? I think it would be interesting to hear from a proper trucker, as long as we still get to hear your dulcet tones

In the US most people who drive diesel (trucks at least) say fuel for diesel. Everyone else lazily calls diesel gas.

Diesel is, like petrol, made from crude oil. Although it burns slower and at a higher temperature.
Such as?

the trucking/trucker interview thing is pretty good idea :)
The co driver idea sounds really nice. Go for it :-)
You should get a "Road Train" driver from Australia to come and speak on your show, that would be epic!
I like the idea of getting a real trucker in. Go for it!
lots of cargo in northern Canada are between 10-100 tons
