Love watching all you Tesla fanboys take apart their presentation like Tesla hasn't failed to meet delivery deadlines and sent out buggy products. This company may not be it but there will come a time when Tesla will be dethroned as top of the EV's because right now they have no competition. All it will take is so one to make something as good and sell it cheaper. Innovation isn't about new ideas it's about creating a better mousetrap.
Dylan even if this hideous vehicle somehow does better than a Tesla vehicle on the market, its okay because that's what Tesla wanted in the first place. To encourage people to change to electric or 0 emissions in general.
For goodness' sake, it's essentially an alpha release. There are bound to be glitches at this stage of the game. You need to take a holistic view of their vision and assess based on that, and their likelihood to deliver on that in a reasonable timeframe.
Regardless that was very bad publicity. I am very certain that an alpha release for any product would never want to present a feature that ended up not working on stage without assessing the risk, and I speak for all companies. That couple seconds of presentations alone may have lost key investors which for a startup is super crucial.
what's cool about it? The only thing i can think of is the horsepower. But lets be real, who cares about horsepower. None of us are going to be drag racing on the freeway or side streets. However, I'm glad that there's more EV cars being announced, because this will mean new things for the electric car market. The reason why Faraday Future isn't going anywhere is because Tesla is honestly better overall... Unless Faraday Future comes out with some flying high tech extreme smartness that simulate an airplane similar to car size, Faraday Future won't be going anywhere anytime soon...
This is almost literally nothing new. Tesla has consumer vehicles in the thousands doing these things everyday practically. This company is likely to burn out so fast!
Why? It bests the Tesla in range; and it looks nice IMO. And it is faster. And it looks better than the Model X. It will do just fine up to about $140k (comparable to Model X P100)
a huge reason that tesla does so well is because of Elon Musk, faraday doesn't have him or the brand recognition associated with tesla. it also doesn't have the supercharger network, which is a huge drawback.
Looks are subjective. When you compare a Model X and the FF91, while the FF91 may have a better 0-60 score and keyword SOPPOSEDLY more range, access to the Super Charger network, fairly new but established dealerships and repair centers, and a pioneering self driving mode, are the majority of the time more valuable to consumers. And when comparing price, the Model X isn't Tesla's final goal. That would be the Model 3. Which is guaranteed to be half the price of the Model X and be equipped to use all of the features that make a Tesla the most highly praised EV's on the market.
It is sure to start at well above 100k considering battery size and what must be very large motors considering the claimed 1050 HP. LIDAR is not cheap either. Their interior looked very S-Class like. I will be surprised if a base model is under 150k.
if they drop the price to like 50k, fix its bugs, and make it look a bit better, then there might be some competition for tesla to go against, but i doubt it.
BigMan7o0 tesla' comming out with that car what's 30k tesla are making their cars more affordable to the general public I say this company goes broke within 5 years like that other company that tried to compete with tesla did.
most likely yeah. i think FF would have to do something that is actually true innovation to even stand a chance against tesla. tesla already has a very good foothold in the EV market, and they have plans to get an even better foothold with their 30k cars.
BigMan7o0 I only see big companies switching to EV so they can compete with tesla's then we could get some affordable cars. They have some concepts but they are to ridiculous for my liking.
It's crazy that we used to watch movies in the 90s that would depict cars like this and now we are getting closer to having them in our reality. Time is moving fast. Fantasy is becoming reality.
I hope this company does well. We'll need more than just Tesla to break the market open for EV. They might want to tone down the futuristic design a bit. I do really like the logo though.
+waerp11 yeah sure, but they wanna show what's possible. If more and more car manufactures produce E-cars, there will also be more and more in every price range. A Renault Zoe costs about 20k and many countries now offer to fund you some money if you get an e-car. So it already is more or less affordable. And as someone mentioned before, if there is more competition, they will make better prices and stuff
Lobster with Mustard and Rice there is nothing to show if they dont surviveit would just be a example for other big automotive corporations giving you the reason why e car don't work
Faraday seems to have done quite a bit, now it's just a matter of building them, ensuring quality mfg. and making them affordable. I think these guys do need to work on their own presentations. They did a lot of repeating things and they could have compacted this down to about 1/2 hour and ran through more aspects of the car. Oh well right now, I can't afford either, so from that standpoint, these cars are not going to be used by the majority of the population.
After the model 3, the next roadster would probably aim to smoke everything on the market. Tesla is not even trying to be super fast right now so I don't even see why Lucid and Faraday are trying so hard.
"Fastest Production vehicle" when it's not even in production and by the time it is Tesla if not someone else will already surpass the speed they showed today?
This is a good move. Even electric cars need competition so that customers get more than one option when deciding to buy an electric car. Hope more car companies spring up to eliminate our dependency on fossil fuels and hence help in a major way to not only reduce our fuel costs but to also help save our environment.
Unfortunately, this won't work in countries that tax cars on power output. In Singapore, the 782kW figure will result in a US$12500 annual road tax. Hopefully they'll make a lower-powered version.
Singapore is a small market anyway, so it's not like it matters much. In Europe, Japan, China or the US, where these can actually sell, it's not a problem.
As a 17 year old, it's splendid to think that by time I'll need a new car in, like, 25 years, autodriving, electric cars will be so much cheaper. Can't even imagine what new types of cars (or whatever) will be released in 2042!!
as i'm sitting here listening to this dude list off expensive features, the more I think we need a bare bones electric car. Imagine it, just a comfy little sedan, pure electric, an aux cord/bluetooth, and just standard fare stuff like ac and heating. Make it as inexpensive as possible and with a standard method of recharging, so that it could use any charging station, and it would destroy the industry.
wtf it has the self park button on the outside of the car? you can park somewhere on the side of the street by your house or someone's house and someone can go press the button and the car will drive away and you'll never find it, it'll be at the Walmart across town
amazing car but lots of problems during the keynote. one: the driverless parking was done without having live cars around it nor humans; thus, making me questions it's true capability during day to day usage. two, the home parking failed.....
The reveal is missing a lot of key details. Pricing, interior details for both front and back seats, different configurations, safety information, super charging infrastructure availability, etc. Also, there's no demonstration or test drives and the vehicle itself doesn't look like production ready yet. Though there are few new cool features, the company still doesn't explain why they are a different from other conventional car makers or other electric car companies. I wish there was more information during the one hour reveal.
was going well enough (kinda) until someone thought it was a good idea to let a Ferrari on stage just to remind everyone what good car design looks like
Can somebody tell what this car is doing different than the cars from Tesla are doing already or are able to do? Don't wanna be negative. It looks nice.
Lefliy Yeah, they were way too early on calling it "the new fastest production electric car". Production means being made for retail deliveries within weeks. They don't even have the capability to do that yet.
Tesla P100D 0-60 is 2.4sec and Faraday is bragging that in two years it will be 0,1 seconds faster than tesla. :) And the fake applause and screaming is cancerous
They forgot to have the car's lights come on when it's self-parking. Seems pretty dangerous for other drivers in the parking lot. Focusing on the complex while forgetting the simple.
Ok I hope this company doesn't actually fail immediately
PrankHubTV I though Apple was out of the car game since last year?
***** You're absolutely correct!
I hadn't looked at it like that.
PrankHubTV Over google?
Oops.. It's already dead
Louis Kévin 😂😂😂
I wonder how much the clapping audience got paid...
Yeah, they went crazy on that parking test immediately after the car started moving by itself. Like we haven't had that tech for a while now.
Cocalarix i also clapped
Love watching all you Tesla fanboys take apart their presentation like Tesla hasn't failed to meet delivery deadlines and sent out buggy products. All it will take is so one to make something as good and sell it cheaper. Innovation isn't about new ideas it's about creating a better mousetrap.
Much the same was said of Apple's iPhone but they didn't go anywhere.
Dylan even if this hideous vehicle somehow does better than a Tesla vehicle on the market, its okay because that's what Tesla wanted in the first place. To encourage people to change to electric or 0 emissions in general.
I was sort of impressed until the guy hit the park button and it didn't work XDDD
Wayan Ayama hahaha good one
That was embarrassing.
at least we know they aren't cheating tho...
For goodness' sake, it's essentially an alpha release. There are bound to be glitches at this stage of the game. You need to take a holistic view of their vision and assess based on that, and their likelihood to deliver on that in a reasonable timeframe.

"A little lazy tonight"
Jason Xie. "...oops"
what happened there?
The autopilot should have turned on but it didn't.
No big deal. Just the car failing.
nbd it just failed real quick lmao
Jason Xie Cringe AF
Always awesome to not have to watch an hour of content and see it live
Tony Orozco true
this paid clapping is amazing.
Most awkward presentation I've seen in awhile
that three way handshake though
Jon Jon Miles Watch Elon Musk give a presentation.
connected , autonomous.. all these marketing bubbles to be burst.
Chicoms tech/investors can prove it much faster...
:-)))))
Hahahah same
+Mathaniac If you want an even more awkward three way handshake look up 'Tony Abbott handshake'
Another EV company to compete with tesla will mean huge things for the electric car market!
not going to lie but this car is actually really cool
what's cool about it? The only thing i can think of is the horsepower. But lets be real, who cares about horsepower. None of us are going to be drag racing on the freeway or side streets. The future is now. I'm a really big tech guy but something I'm concerned about is " More Tech, More Problems", guess we will have to wait and see.
This is almost literally nothing new. Tesla has consumer vehicles in the thousands doing these things everyday practically. This company is likely to burn out so fast!
Faraday Future's financial partners are LeEco, a Chinese consumer electronics company, led by Jia Yueting.
Good job with the copy & paste
It sounds like someone is clapping ironically in the background.
I can only imagine the amount parking tickets you'd get with the self park...
Kazz What if it knows every no parking zone
Devon Grant it could but I doubt it does, especially as cities and towns grow, and more parking/no parking zones are developed
Ok it's fast and it can park itself, but I don't really see anything truly ground breaking.
Competition in the EV game is ground breaking itself
Winvsking True
+Winvsking this.
Alex Fishman tesla competition dumby
I think you mean it is fast, it can't park it :)
I think teslas look nicer
Anthony Infante this car is as ugly as sin. ill wait intil. battery technology improves so aerodynamics aren't as big of a deal.
Dale Catlett The car looks great
Anthony Infante No
Tesla looks like sleek car, the faraday futures car looks like it's trying to hard to be modern.
LinusMLGTips K.
THAT WAS SO CRINGEY
You should watch the unveiling of the Chrysler Portal...
still better than Tesla's
If it costs more than 80k it will die out

+Jacob Dwelle No one would ever buy this car. At that price. You could get Tesla Model S with half of that price.
if they drop the price to like 50k, fix its bugs, and make it look a bit better, then there might be some competition for tesla to go against, but i doubt it.

in official Faraday channel this video was so bad...but The Verge mad it awesome by putting awesome background music
as much as i want this to succeed, this is pure vaporware
This is going to be pricey
indeed
***** ay caramba!
It's crazy that we used to watch movies in the 90s that would depict cars like this and now we are getting closer to having them in our reality. Time is moving fast. Fantasy is becoming reality.
The car disobeyed a direct order to go to the garage. That's a first deal breaker happening on stage. 😂😂😂
I hope this company does well. We'll need more than just Tesla to break the market open for EV. They might want to tone down the futuristic design a bit. I do really like the logo though.
Traditional car makers could do so too. Nissan and Chevrolet have already been quite successful.
J. van der Linden yeah but this car cost around 150G to 200G I don't think lot people can afford this Price range. Hope it sell will
+waerp11 yeah sure, but they wanna show what's possible. If more and more car manufactures produce E-cars, there will also be more and more in every price range.
A Renault Zoe costs about 20k and many countries now offer to fund you some money if you get an e-car.

Lobster with Mustard and Rice there is nothing to show if they dont surviveit would just be a example for other big automotive corporations giving you the reason why e car don't work
They should have used a stationary camera to see the speed comparison, kinda hard when the car is chasing the camera..
Hope they make it and then Tesla has to beat it #competition
Musk and Team will.. That guy is a smart guy, Model Y still has to come
Faraday seems to have done quite a bit, now it's just a matter of building them, ensuring quality mfg. and making them affordable. I think these guys do need to work on their own presentations. yeah man can't wait for a lighter 2 seater Model y P120Q (quad motor) beast
Beat what...?
It's great to see competition in the electric car market but Tesla is going to destroy Faraday just my opinion, after all this is the internet.
"Fastest Production vehicle" when it's not even in production and by the time it is Tesla if not someone else will already surpass the speed they showed today?
What's makes this cars self park feature better than all the other self parking cars that came out before it?
Thank you for doing this! I watched the full intro but this covers everything.
How about showing real world production cars instead of prototypes
Probably a good idea to practice before demoing to the world live center stage.
I like how it didn't have its lights on as it was driving around the car park... at night, that AI is a clever bastard.
This is a good move. Even electric cars need competition so that customers get more than one option when deciding to buy an electric car. Hope more car companies spring up to eliminate our dependency on fossil fuels and hence help in a major way to not only reduce our fuel costs but to also help save our environment.
If they offer this thing at very competitive price they could make some serious business here!
They won't..
And what happens when u hack the car... are u gonna join DEDSEC
I can see Tesla releasing a new Blogpost in a few weeks with the headline:
"Update coming: 2.2 seconds" ^^
That is not exactly their main goal, just a byproduct from optimizing software.
Unfortunately, this won't work in countries that tax cars on power output. In Singapore, the 782kW figure will result in a US$12500 annual road tax. Hopefully they'll make a lower-powered version.
if you want luxury and power then pay ok?
Oscar Lee apparently everyone lives in Singapore
Singapore is a small market anyway, so it's not like it matters much. In Europe, Japan, China or the US, where these can actually sell, it's not a problem.
I hear singapore does have great public transport though.............unlike sydney (where I live), a car is a must
5:50 C'mon, that's not how you beat Tesla
So what happens if I steal the parking spot before the car can get to it
Alejandro Figueroa
May be it will record your vehicle number and register it as douchebag... 😂😂
it'll turn into skynet
Then the armed "trunk drone" comes out...
the car is feeling lazy tonight omg just stop! tesla you're the boss all the way!
why does the background music sound like theme of sky force?
As a 17 year old, it's splendid to think that by time I'll need a new car in, like, 25 years, autodriving, electric cars will be so much cheaper. Can't even imagine what new types of cars (or whatever) will be released in 2042!!
So the Valet parking was a fail. the presenters were in awkward position there.
'IF' it reaches production. It cannot be considered a production vehicle until it actually begins to manufacture them and selling them to customers.
Imagine the repair costs if anything ever got damaged
5:46 *FAIL!!!* 😂😂😂
Just how heavy must those things be ? Yet so fast.. The thought of a light racing focused electric car sends shivers down my spine when I see this
as i'm sitting here listening to this dude list off expensive features, the more I think we need a bare bones electric car. Imagine it, just a comfy little sedan, pure electric, an aux cord/bluetooth, and just standard fare stuff like ac and heating. Make it as inexpensive as possible and with a standard method of recharging, so that it could use any charging station, and it would destroy the industry.
I hope some companies use the Tabby Evo platform to do something like this. Maybe myself in 10 years hopefully
whats the music in the beginning?
The best thing i like about this car is that this is the production model and not a concept model. Awesome!
Adnan Amin
No, this is a concept prototype. You'll learn this once this finally goes into actual production for market deliveries. If it ever does.
the best part was when the car failed to park lol. It was just like nope i won't do it.
Best case scenario for these guys is that big car company/apple/uber bought them out
FF91: "Go park myself"
FF91 to FF91: "Embarrass them..."
What a time to be alive
mariah carey was embarrassed for them when the auto park didn't work
wtf it has the self park button on the outside of the car? you can park somewhere on the side of the street by your house or someone's house and someone can go press the button and the car will drive away and you'll never find it, it'll be at the Walmart across town
Y didn't they show the other cars time.. And the Outsideview of the car when they where showing of its speed??
amazing car but lots of problems during the keynote. one: the driverless parking was done without having live cars around it nor humans; thus, making me questions it's true capability during day to day usage. two, the home parking failed.....

The person who said about battery is bob from fight club
does the batteries burst?
This presentation was actually badass. The one tech hiccup was to be expected and forgiven.
was going well enough (kinda) until someone thought it was a good idea to let a Ferrari on stage just to remind everyone what good car design looks like
So did the car's self-parking not work at the end of the presentation?
That's not good at all.
Hackers can't wait.
Looks like a first gen Murano mated with a BMW i8
Do they have stock or IPA?
aaand it's probably twice as expensive than a model s
I honestly don't care about what technology a car has all I care about is if it's fun to drive and reliable.
So it is called the 6691?
WOW I was hoping they would compete with tesla. Looks like non-working concept is ready....only 5 years left until production
your live chat was really funny during this
Take one to BlackHat and see how fast it is pwned.
The Alien look to us and said "Ahh still using wheels....how ancient."
i need that company to outreach to me so I can review and test drive the car
do they know tesla can already do this?
Can somebody tell what this car is doing different than the cars from Tesla are doing already or are able to do? Don't wanna be negative. It looks nice.
Why would you want to take your phone out?
It looks on every video I've seen this ff91 parks in the same spot on their stage.
makes me more excited for auto expo 2018 in Delhi
Soo where exactly do you charge it?
Dope video!!🎉😎
Raw! I hope to see more innovation and competition within the years to come.
It's tough for them to beat Tesla .
this is the future and it is now
*dramatic music*
Touch the button to park itself!
Doesn't move
Awkward!
What business person would be running late to an important meeting? Always be 30 minutes early.
Today full speced P100D is 170k, seriously, it is EC car not ICE V12. Why does it cost soooo much?
When you see a presentation like this it reminds me how much I miss Steve Jobs presentation.
"Fastest production EV" can't claim that until it's an actual production car lmaoo
I really want to see what if someone break your camera sensor and what gonna happen next :)
Is this still a concept? Or in production already?
mostly still a concept. the company doesn't even have a complete factory yet.
I see, thanks man!
Lefliy
Yeah, they were way too early on calling it "the new fastest production electric car". Production means being made for retail deliveries within weeks. They don't even have the capability to do that yet.
"previous CEO said it's only smoke and mirror's"
Tesla P100D 0-60 is 2.4sec and Faraday is bragging that in two years it will be 0,1 seconds faster than tesla. :)
And the fake applause and screaming is cancerous
I'm all for electric cars, but I almost got hit by a Prius cause those damn things are so quiet and no one was paying attention.
BoyMonkeyKid electric cars are fine but nothing but God can beat a gas car
I gotta a fix for the garage mode.. Ctr-Alt+Del..
They forgot to have the car's lights come on when it's self-parking. Seems pretty dangerous for other drivers in the parking lot. Focusing on the complex while forgetting the simple.
I think this looks better than the Tesla Model X.
Doesn't seem as reliable yet. Tesla's had a couple of years putting out commercial versions of their cars.
Gaurav Gowda it looks futuristic but so soooo ugly. looks like a kid with high top shoes.
Tesla, Faraday, what next? Maxwell?Henrie?
