I didn't know Tecnam, but wow, their plane looks very interesting. I would love to fly one of those two seaters with glass cockpit, A lot nicer than the C150 I often fly from the 70'th. And there is not even that long from Denmark to Italy. Thanks for an interesting video.
Great insights Jason. Tecnam really do make some of the best looking light aircraft today From a US LSA perspective; they may be a "new" name to many people but they are in fact one of the most experienced aircraft companies out there. You're absolutely correct in relation to European GA - it is very expensive here in Europe and is a lot less accessible too. Keep up the good work at MzeroA.com and maybe we'll see you in Ireland !!
I got my pilot licence in a p2004 Bravo, I loved that plane and Tecnam. I have some very fond memories of flying around Central Texas in my very pilot friendly P2004. Thanks for the Great workmanship!
I'm an italian ultralight pilot based at LIDV ... I flew with a P92 for years. This plane is a good boy and forgives all kind of mistake. In fact right now the school at my airport uses this airplane ... The main problem related to Tecnam is too expensive in relation to the quality of details (interiors, seat confort, ancillary things, etc ... ) and this factory is devoted to use only Rotax engine, for sure reliable, but too expensive and monopolist of the engine sector for ultralight aviation.
Hey Jason, I would gladly tour you in some of France's Aéro-club to show you how we do it here to make GA, in all its forms (single engine, aerobatics, IFR, seaplane...), available to everybody! (especially not with 300$/h airplane, more like 140€). Otherwise wise, great video on a nice company! Flew the P2002 for some of my PPL training, it is a nice airplane. Cheers
Wow, awesome presentation! I have been interested in owning a Tecnam product for awhile now (not LSA), making this video that much more interesting.👍🇺🇸
It's good you touched on the stupidly high cost of aviation in the UK. It's VERY frustrating staying current, whilst trying to save to do further training for that commercial license because of this!
Mr Jason, there are too many factories manufacturing LSA : tencam / bristel / sting/ etc , if i want to buy an LSA , what i have to take in consideration? Please can you give me your opinion. Thanks
For me it comes down to many factors. I detail a lot of this in my recent 'How to Buy an Airplane" webinar. - ruclips.net/video/yEy2oQ3pQrQ/видео.html One factor to consider not mentioned in that webinar is parts availability. Do these manufacturers have a base near you or at least in the same country? Having a dealer network makes getting parts so much easier when something breaks. - Jason
Baher TK Also, try flying as many of these LSA's as you possibly can. They all have their strengths and weaknesses but my personal favorite is the P2008 from what I have had experience in. There are a lot of great LSA's out there and many more to come! Exciting times in General Aviation indeed.
300 USD for a basic 2 seater ? Who told you that Jason? Here in Slovenia, a well equipped PA38 would run 110 EUR per hour (wet), C172, about 150 EUR + tax.
Although expensive, aviation in Europe doesn't cost nearly 300$/h for a basic two seater. Here in Portugal you can get a C152 for about 90-105€/h wet-lease!
Bailey Davis it is expensive yes but it has aerodrome taxes and landing fees included. It's not the cheapest thing in the world obviously but it is 1/3 of the value given by Jason. Just by curiosity, what's the price of a 152 with fuel p/hour in the US? Thanks!
we have 6 P2008 at my club here near Paris. a lot of trouble, last month the nose gear have fall of on a P2008. The student had to land on the belly. . not a solid school plane.
Parts have dropped from almost all planes including Airbus and Boeings. No manufacturer can make up for bad or incorrect maintenance. Tecnams are well built and the Tecnam factory makes safety a high priority.
Capt_Glenn Well do not tel our mech that they do not know how to repair and maintain planes. .. they are ex mechanics for the famous Concorde. I fly very often with it and it's a wonderful plane to fly but it's very fragile as a plane used for learning student how to land...
If you say tecnam p2008 is an aircraft c172 is a space shutlle. I have to fly with p2008j for time building all i can say i can prefer 30 years old cessna. Tecnam is a flying plastic with a weak problematic engine.

I finished my sport ticket in a P92 Bravo. I loved that plane. It is still one of my favorites!

Jason, my P2008 was being built while you were there!
This was a great tour, Jason! Thanks for the insider's walk-around. I have some time in a P92 Eaglet and it's very light, but fun to fly.

Congratulations Jason...
My local flight school uses these as trainers, rents them, and is a US distributor of these aircraft.

Lot Polish airlines in the thumbnail!!! Nice!!!
Great video! It is so fun and educational to learn about our European flying friends are doing. Thanks for sharing.

Bad analogy with apple, Tecnam people seem to be much nicer.
Very nice people with a huge heart! I would say more so the "started from a garage/basement" analogy is what I was going for. - Jason

Pedro Fernandes that's still pretty expensive

Pedro Fernandes I pay $90 for one at the airport I usually fly out of, and $115 at another.
In Ireland a C152 is around €190/hr which is $212 at the moment, very expensive here for general aviation.
Brian damn that's expensive!! No wonder so many foreigners come over here to train! I sure couldn't afford that
A basic two seater aircraft does not cost 300 USD per hour. More like half of it.
I know, I fly as an instructor there.

Personally cannot get used to the high r.p.m. cruise, and oil check process of a Rotax!
~ 170€ a 4 seater in Germany, ~140€ 2 seater, as always no upper limit
Much more glider pilots also, Germany is home of gliding - a lot cheaper
Prices in italy are around 150€/h for a 2 seater and around 250€/h for a 4 seater. As you said no upper limit.
