CieloBlu, the CA & AZ Coast Tecnam dealer, provided the demo aircraft for this review. René Valentine, the demo pilot, along with Rich Pickett (who is about to add the 113th make and model aircraft he's flown) put the P2006T through its paces.
    *Key Features:*
The P2006T boasts two Rotax 912 engines (carbureted), ensuring both economy and reliability. Its quality build, updated avionics, and remarkable fuel burn rate of 9 gallons per hour make it an economical, reliable, and invaluable tool for multiengine students.
    *Why Choose the Tecnam P2006T?*
*Twin Safety:* With twin engines burning less fuel than comparable single-engine aircraft, the P2006T prioritizes safety.
*Robust Yet Light Airframe:* Tecnam's expertise in aluminum airframes results in a sturdy yet lightweight aircraft, offering an impressive payload-to-total weight ratio.
*Wide Cabin and Avionics Options:* The spacious cabin allows for versatile avionics configurations, including the twin-screen G1000 NXi IFR system.
*Ideal Training Solution:* Multi-engine capabilities, constant-speed propellers, and retractable gear create a comprehensive training environment at a fraction of the cost of competitors.
    *NASA's Choice:*
Notably, NASA has selected the P2006T as the baseline platform for the X-57 Maxwell development, highlighting its potential for sustainable flight and innovation in the aviation industry.
*TECNAM P2006T - TRAIN WITH A TWIN AT THE COST OF A SINGLE:*
Certified to meet the latest CS-23 EASA & FAA requirements, the P2006T is designed with flight training organizations in mind, offering simplicity, efficiency, reliability, and a pleasant flying experience for both students and instructors.

I have a few hours in the P2006T. Honestly, it is probably my least favorite twin. It is easy to fly, stable, and safe, which makes it a great training platform. However, for me, it was uncomfortable. The low seats, with my feet cramped in the narrow space under the panel, were awful. Visibility was poor. I am 5 11' and had could not see our the side windows without significantly leaning down to look. And the checklist... man o man it takes forever to work your way through it. Burping the engines before checking the oil and all of the other little extra things really add up. Finally, in my opinion, the plane is very underpowered, especially for a twin. I am not saying there is not a place for this bird or that it is a bad aircraft, but it is not something I would own or want to spend much time in myself. The worst part about this plane is I am not sure it really prepares you to fly most other twins. If all you have flown is this guy, and you lose an engine in your C-310 or C-414, you could very quickly be overwhelmed and in trouble. It will get you the rating, but maybe not the best to really get you ready to fly twins.

Appreciate the frank feedback, Pete. I didn’t fly up front, but my dad did not the visibility challenge for his 6’3” frame. I’ll be exploring it for a future review in more depth, and will look out for those gripes. Thx.

excellent video , i’ve been doing a lot of research into the p2006 to own but the Technam dealer for Florida won’t schedule demo flights unfortunately which is odd especially for being the authorized dealer rep for the manufacturer . Awesome you got your hands on one .

I hate the idea of burping a Rotax just to check the oil!
