Politicians are, for the most part, knee jerk, corrupt, and not thinking about the future of their shenanigan activities. I love my 2007 Toyota Highlander. 147000 miles and just maintenance of fluids. filters and tires. Made in Japan. I paid $37000 with a leather interior which has held up beautifully Thanx for all yor insight and humor Scotty, you're one of a kind without any doubt.

Two of my kids workat Toyota factory here in USA. They have noted that while Toyota is still better than average, dome parts are lower Q than what they used for years. SAD for sure.
Toyota has always been hyped beyond what it deserved. In ‘90 I bought a dodge grand caravan that lasted till I gave it to my mechanic with about 250,000 miles on it around 2005, for some free air conditioner work on another car. My neighbour who bought a new Toyota van the same month in 1990, went through 3 toyota vans in the same time.
The problem in Japan is Overwork and Loneliness. The men and women over there typically don't get together. Lots of girls are alone and left on the shelf. The guys just work all day and don't want to get married since its too expensive and they are too tired. The girls are lonely and feel unloved. It is one of the saddest most depressed countries on Earth... Toyota needs a Love Potion....

Our Subaru has that auto-breaking and lane departure warning. I turn it off...it's total crap. Having the car wrestle control from you to try to do what it "thinks" is right is dangerous AF. I love how automotive laws are written by people who DON'T DRIVE.
Exactly. It’s like all the experts who talk about childcare, raising kids with some discipline. In my work experience, I have had to deal with more than a few of the experts from DHS re: kids and I don’t think any of those humanoids were parents.
I used my sister's outback with lane guidance stuff on it. I thought it was cool if it was still active while Hands off the wheel and it would stay on the offset lane swerve, but I thought it was highly distracting making the car more dangerous
The legislators had nothing to do with the automatic braking proposed rule. It's bureaucrats in the executive branch doing this. The recent Supreme Court Chevron decision may help, but don't count on it.
In the UK we had a company vehicle, VW transporter, it had this automatic brake application system. One of the lads was nearly rear ended when a HGV in front disturbed some fallen leaves and blew a load from the side of the road into the air and it applied the emergency brake system 😮
I had a similar problem w my old Mazda 3. I would slow down for a stoplight and the engine would rev to 3000 rpm by itself and stay there. Had to step hard on the brakes and turn off the engine. Dealer eventually solved the problem by replacing the throttle position sensor.
I bet that Cadillac CT5-V BLACKWING 668hp 6sp mt is more fun to drive than a Nissan Versa 5sp. What's crazy is somehow the EPA won't let me buy a 2dr 200hp 4sp pick em up for work but Cadillac can build a 9 mpg street legal race car for rich boy toys..
No kidding that automatic braking isn’t there yet. I used to drive a 2023 Nissan Kicks with automatic braking for work (why they would choose a Nissan over a Toyota to save a few thousand dollars, I don’t know). At least once a week the automatic braking would just go off with nobody even in front of (car or pedestrian). Not sure if it was a bug that wandered in front of the image sensor or shadows or what, but it’s absolutely TERRIFYING to be driving 45mph and the car just RANDOMLY slams the brakes on you “for you”. The car itself wasn’t bad, drove as good as a 108hp 1.6L with a CVT can be expected. Great gas mileage though. I routinely got 44-48 highway in it, and around 34-39 city. I could idle that engine with the AC on for eight hours a day and still get 29mpg all said and done. That’s pretty spectacular, but at the end of the day it was a Nissan and was already showing signs of CVT concerns when I got fired (car was around 76,000 miles by then). No the damage wasn’t from me, I drive like a grandma (most people in those Kicks got 24 compared to my 34+).
I have a Mercedes era Ram and that truck has 350,000 on it and the transmission is still original along with the 4.7 lt V-8. Even the ac still works. Pretty good truck. 2002 model crew cab.
The issues with Chrysler are the CEO of Stellantis and U.S. government. Stellantis is purposely trying lower quality with mediocre parts and the issue with the U.S. government is with all the mandates.
Nuclear plants - They produce tons of power very efficiently, cleanly and consistently. The only real downside to them is that the power they produce cannot be easily turned up or down. Normally when we're producing more electricity than is being consumed we shutdown or scale down the output from non-nuclear sources so that we don't overload the power grid. So the maximum amount of nuclear power we can have will always be limited to the minimum amount of power we consume at the absolute lowest point during the year minus the smallest amount that all of our other power sources can produce. The only way around this is for us to create an energy storage system where excess energy can be directed and held for use during peak energy usage times. Wind - Is actually a great alternative because even on days that you think aren't very windy, there is still plenty of wind to power them. Especially at the height that wind turbines are set at (190-295 feet high for land based and 328-495 for offshore). At that height, almost every square mile of the US is a suitable location for a wind turbine, except a small strip in southern California. If they are producing too much power they can easily stop any number of them to match demand. Modern wind turbines aren't a risk to birds like older faster moving turbines. About the only downside is how they look and how they clutter the view of the skyline. Solar - Solar's biggest drawback is that it only produces power during the day. But peak energy usage happens during the day when humans are up and doing things, so it's perfect for supplementing other power sources during peak usage. Nuclear, wind and solar are the energy holy trinity. If we get those three up to capacity and balanced, then we should be able to scale back fossil fuel usage to just a few niche areas where it still makes sense to use them. Keep enough of them around to offset any nuclear powerplant downtime, like planned maintenance.
I drove a 1.2 UK Ford Fiesta Zetec for ten years, 60 mpg on the freeway, the cambelt snapped at 97K, got a second hand engine supplied and fitted for 400 pounds.
I purchased a brand new '23 Camry LE AWD in 2/23. It's got 19K on it now. 6+ trips to the dealer since new. Mechanical (Engine/Transmission noise), Technical (TPMS not working correctly, Bluetooth/Apple Car Play not always working), Physical issues (OBVVIOUS paint defects, Mirror covers & trim fall off in car washes or hitting a bump. I've stopped washing it because it's so fragile, Had a rim replaced due to a defect & two tires replaced, etc. Dealer has YET to address 1/2 of the issues. All I get is a few things "supposedly" looked at and told that the "the car needs a software update" or some other issue and told to schedule a return visit! This is Toyota Quality ?????
Toyota's quality issues started with the 2018 Camry. My 2020 was the worst new car I've ever had. It was a happy few minutes after buying it and a much happier day when I sold it before its second scheduled oil change. I started questioning the car during the drive home, the quality was far below my old Camry's. My 2020 used to slam on the brakes when I was alone on a highway. Toyota's TSS was so advanced it could see ghost on a nearly empty highway.
@@kaohsiung99 I had a low mile 2007 I bought used. It was a oil burner but very cheap because of it. I pulled the engine and put new rings in it over a weekend. It had well over 200k miles on it when I gave it away. It got pretty beat up in those miles.
@@OnlyMeee-ie3dw Thanks for replying. My neighbor has an 07 Camry. Seems like it's always got some issue... But guys who may not be qualified to work on it seem to be 'tinkering' with it from time to time.
@@kaohsiung99 Everything breaks with age. A 07 is a pretty old car for nothing to break. I used to put miles on things quick. I'd be out of a normal warranty before the year is up. Besides using oil it was a great car. I put new rings in it around 40k miles. Nothing but normal maintenance for the next 200k miles. I decided to treat myself with a new one in 2020 since I don't travel as much anymore. The new Camry made me miss the good old Camry's. It was a piece of junk. One of the tens of thousands pieces of junk Toyota put out since 2018.
@@OnlyMeee-ie3dw I rented a 2022 Camry earlier this year. It had 56K miles. It reminded me of a Nissan Altima--the look & feel of it. And that's not a compliment. Everything just feels cheap and 'disposable'
I won't buy anything over a 2008 I have a 2008 Corolla that's been thru 11 owners before me but it still runs awesome it has 186k on it still runs as good as it left the showroom
Stop voting for these idiotic politicians, get them out of office and make them work for a living instead of trying to tell us what we can and cannot do
I know what affects the ECU,they’re very susceptible to TRF I had a friend in NJ who lived across the street from the Norteast corridor. Every time a train would pass by the motor would run away then return to normal.
Scotty, I have a 2017 Toyota Tundra Limited with 177K miles. It runs like the day I drove it off the lot. I've only replaced tires, brakes, and filters, and I change the oil (Mobil 1 synthetic) every 5k miles. Best vehicle I've ever owned!
The problems started after the earthquake I was hauling Toyota parts back then it shut down the Japanese plants for years. And the guy that invented lydar brakes says if the car bounces too much it sees a wall and the only thing they could do is turn down the sensitivity.
I am looking for my next, maybe last vehicle. It will likely be pre 2020. I need vehicles I can drive. I can turn over 70 mph. But realize it’s much less angle then 50 mph. Do a hard turn under 30 *only in low center of gravity sedan on open parking lot* Then with pavement wet.
I had an 18 Camry I loaned to a friend who let the battery die. A check engine light came on and before I could get it read I was driving and sitting behind a suv and she started to move then braked. I stopped in time and then the motor revved by itself and I left a 900 2cm mark on an unpainted gray ford bumper. Plus at fault accident
Here's a great idea, how about putting people in driver's education and telling them to um, pay attention and be accountable for their actions and learn to drive the way I learned instead of relying on the car to do the driving
I used to unload steel hauling trucks. The trucks you see with the canvas. A driver told me about his experiences with auto brakes. People would pass him, then pull over in front of him. The truck would brake with no warning, and slow him down. Then of course more drivers would pass and cut in front of him. He didn't like that at all! He's got delivery to make, and has no control over when it's getting done. If you think it's a great idea, ok. Me, recently retired and can't wait for Scotty to start his videos on the national gridlock of American hyy systems
The trucks are good the Dodge heavy duty pickups is really good and I have had two 1992 4x4 Dodge 2500 and I now drive a second Dodge 05 3500 4 door long bed dullay and a 6 speed manual and manual 4 wheel drive selector . These trucks have been good to me but they are both stock and all the problems they have is lift kits and tuners and power adders if you leave them alone they will give you a very long life !
Pertaining to stoping too quickly. It's common for people to follow to close to keep others from filling up the space, slowing them down. So if this is your reason, try not to be distracted .
Code monkeys who wrote Starliner code that didn't get them to proper orbit for docking when unmanned, doesn't include unmanned undocking and return code are ones writing this magical car code.
2022 Lexus LX600, bought in March 2022 and just got a recall notice that they are going to REPLACE the engine which as you know was built in Japan V6 twin turbo. 24K miles! This not the performance I was expecting from Toyota.
My friends Cadi auto brakes all the time when nothing is there. Wonder when someone thinks she's brake checking someone and starts a road rage situation.
If Jesus doesn’t come back before then, I can see people driving 90’s and maybe early 2000’s cars up into the 2040 and beyond. I’m a pack rat myself so I’ll probably still have my 98 Cherokee that far into the future.
I recently bought an 87 Corolla sedan in Rhode Island that had been sitting for 20 years. It drives perfect - that’s a testimonial to pre-pandemic toyota quality, as far as I’m concerned- having some age related repairs done ( cv joins, brakes, etc ) / wondering if the coolant should be exchanged or flushed?
The current model Corolla has been out since 2020, so any problems should have been fixed by now. I don't have any problem with my 2018 Corolla that was made in Canada
Seriously, We will all miss you Scotty when that day comes. But for now, we appreciate you as our grandpa who gives car advice and makes us laugh at the same time..🙏
Hi Scotty, my camry 2010 2.4 is now clocking close to 200,00 km. May I know what type of preventive maintenance should I need to perform? Also, I am getting around 600km for every full tank of fuel. Is that the standard fuel consumption for this car with a 2.4 2AZ-FE engine? Thank you.
With nissan the parts can be defective or doesn't have durability. I am now really careful to choose the origin on the manufacture of the replacement OEM parts.
My 2004 Nissan Altima just got its 3rd alternator yesterday. I’m not too upset, though. The last one was put on in 2017. So the OEM lasted 13 years, NAPA part lasted 7 years. This one is Advance auto. We’ll see how it does. Probably made in China. 😂
In my state they charge you extra at registration time if your car is rated to get better than 25 mpg.....now mind you the government requires car manufactures to make cars that are fuel efficient. So when a manufacture obeys that mandate, the state of Virgina charges you extra for having a fuel efficient vehicle!

The Doritos bag as a makeshift taillight made my morning @1:15
They need phone jammer in cars
That alone will stop most collisions.
More like competent drivers
No matter where you are Scotty, we will still look up your videos on line, so we can learn something. Thank you Scotty.
I have a Mercedes era Ram and that truck has 350,000 on it and the transmission is still original along with the 4.7 lt V-8. Even the ac still works. Pretty good truck. 2002 model crew cab.
Yes, a regular engine with manual transmission will last so long with minimal cost.
Diesel with a manual transmission can last 1 million miles.
Don’t go Scotty we need you
The issues with Chrysler are the CEO of Stellantis and U.S. government. Stellantis is purposely trying lower quality with mediocre parts and the issue with the U.S. government is with all the mandates.
Automatic braking system 😮 Bad enough we have automatic stop/start!
The basic agreement between you and the auto industry is that they'll get you from A to B and you'll never break even. It isn't even complicated.
No to wind power. Kills a million birds a day in the USA alone.
I'm ready for someone to fill the giant void in the market for cheap, simple, reliable vehicles.
Skoda. ? !
Bicycle
Trubant?
They can't with all the emission and safety requirements.
I drove a 1.2 UK Ford Fiesta Zetec for ten years, 60 mpg on the freeway, the cambelt snapped at 97K, got a second hand engine supplied and fitted for 400 pounds.
RIP again Scotty 🙏🏾
The Problem is too much Programable mechanism programs have glitches and will always glitch.. the more Programs the more problems
They finally got Scotty
The 2007 Camry (and maybe the following years) were not very good, either...as I understand it.
The subject line makes it sound like Scott is infected with some kind of disease.
He is, Clickbaititis!
I won't buy anything over a 2008
I have a 2008 Corolla that's been thru 11 owners before me but it still runs awesome it has 186k on it still runs as good as it left the showroom
Make key ignitions great again.
I got my first key fob. Drives me nuts.
Hey! My 21 Ram 1500 has been near perfect. I love it and would buy another. Not thrilled about the new Hurricane motor though. The 5.7 is sweet.
My 2018 CRV saw a ghost car in front of me and almost threw me the windshield….
The automatic braking in states that get snow will cause many accidents
Stop voting for these idiotic politicians, get them out of office and make them work for a living instead of trying to tell us what we can and cannot do
I will never buy anything new again.
My next truck is going to be a square body.
It is unthinkable the days without you !!!!
RIP Scotty until tomorrow
Thank the Man upstairs I bought my 21' Tundra before the new junk came out. Everything is going down hill. 🥺
I know what affects the ECU,they’re very susceptible to TRF I had a friend in NJ who lived across the street from the Norteast corridor. Every time a train would pass by the motor would run away then return to normal.
Problem with crying wolf is, at some point when the wolf really appears, nobody believes you.
Anything before 2020 👍.
The problems started after the earthquake I was hauling Toyota parts back then it shut down the Japanese plants for years. And the guy that invented lydar brakes says if the car bounces too much it sees a wall and the only thing they could do is turn down the sensitivity.
I have been impressed with the build quality of my made in Japan 2022 Subaru WRX.
It’s looking like a horse is becoming a better idea again for traveling! 😊 Only have to clean up it’s 💩!
The overuse of that thumbnail has me rolling 😂 The first time I saw it I was like 😮 what has happened to the channel!
Fords Long Besch EV plant. Parts arrive in Evergreen Containers. Tax and tarriff loophole for assembled in the USA.
Too bad you will not recover. Must be a very serious health issue. I will spread the word.*******
Here's a great idea, how about putting people in driver's education and telling them to um, pay attention and be accountable for their actions and learn to drive the way I learned instead of relying on the car to do the driving
Yes!! Exactly.
When I heard this I ran around in circles in my House like a Scalded Ape. 🦍😁. Scotty we love you out here. I watch your videos everyday 👍🙂
I can’t think of a single car worth a crap since the vid. How much electronic crap is too much.
We need you alive scotty we need more people like you in this world 🙏
The trucks are good the Dodge heavy duty pickups is really good and I have had two 1992 4x4 Dodge 2500 and I now drive a second Dodge 05 3500 4 door long bed dullay and a 6 speed manual and manual 4 wheel drive selector .
I think the description must've been referring to EV's....but Scotty lives on!
I have 2012 hyundai tucson. Already at my 938k miles on it. Still feels like brandnew
The guy should have bought a Mazda. They seem to be the best now.
RIP SCOTTY KILMER. Gone but not for gabbin'
If Jesus doesn’t come back before then, I can see people driving 90’s and maybe early 2000’s cars up into the 2040 and beyond. I’m a pack rat myself so I’ll probably still have my 98 Cherokee that far into the future.
Glad to have my 2017 Toyota Corolla manual transmission
Microvision's Lidar system works now for Level 3 driving. They can brake. OEM''s need to implement.
Snotty could never die. He's a legend!
seriously, this man's gotta teach us his ways.. he's always able to come back from the dead bro
The current model Corolla has been out since 2020, so any problems should have been fixed by now. I don't have any problem with my 2018 Corolla that was made in Canada
I cried, RIP 😢😢
Had a 1979 Datsun 210 that was from Japan and was a lemon since new. At trade in got 14 mpg on an A14 replacement engine
Vvti I think is what’s causing rpm jump.
Nuclear power is the most expensive capital start up..... but you cant beat a can du reactor...
In my state they charge you extra at registration time if your car is rated to get better than 25 mpg.....now mind you the government requires car manufactures to make cars that are fuel efficient. So when a manufacture obeys that mandate, the state of Virgina charges you extra for having a fuel efficient vehicle!
Politicians want control over everything you can imagine simply because such foolishness gives them more power.
