Its one thing to crush in a particular period like Linus Love, OTB or back then like Isuldur; but to crush for almost 20 years and be at that level is truly amazing.

This seems like an amazing call and it’s a great call but the way his opponent played it they’re heavily weighted to drawing hands, abd while some of those hands will contain an A most won’t. They’ll be missed clubs and all the miss straights of which there are heaps. When all flop draws miss you just have to have the odds to call in a spot where the bluffing portion of the range outweighs the value portion and this is one of them.

The announcers don't even mention it's for his tournament life. The benefits of the fold are so incredibly high that it really is fascinating he was able to get to the right decision in the end. Amazing job. Anyone know the outcome of the tourney? Did he go on to win?

Theoretically, on the ace river and blocking opponent's bluffing range, fold is the correct play. I'm pretty sure he got some live reads. Nice call.

There's a term for pretty much everything in poker - i feel like there should be a specific term for the look Mustafov gives Patrik @08:24... It's like the sheer befuddlement of _"what the f-ck... how do you call there???🤨",_ combined w/this fire behind their eyes where you can tell they're using every ounce of restraint w/in themselves not to lose their goddamn minds w/rage & get thrown out of the building for cursing out everyone in his general vicinity. There's really no other course of action that makes sense, besides sitting in stunned-silence trying to process being made to look like a bitch live in 4k. & It's always the same dumbfounded gaze like _"I'm not stupid, you are the 1 who is stupid!"_ & I feel as if simply being _"on tilt"_ doesn't quite capture nor do justice to that sense of anticipation & ultimately disappointment & shock that comes from being on the wrong end of a call as spectacular as this 1..

Love your content Triton! Constructive feedback - please avoid spoilers in the titles. How about "Patrik Antonius considers making one of the greatest hero calls in High Stakes Poker" or "Patrik Antonius goes into the tank on super hero call". Sure we might suspect he calls since it is being posted but it still leaves that shadow of a doubt that keeps you on the edge of your seat. You could also post other highlight videos with the unexpected outcome that would keep your subscribers guessing in the future. Regardless, looking forward to whatever you post next.

When all flop draws miss you just have to have the odds to call in a spot where the bluffing portion of the range outweighs the value portion and this is one of them. A high flush draws aren’t betting 3 streets like that in todays meta

Only Patrik could have made that call. You don't see anyone else calling with bottom pair. I remember he made a similar call with a marginal hand against Phil Laak many years ago and was also right. He's just one of the best.

@@CertifiedSlamboy Any idiot can call with a marginal hand trying to be a hero. But how many actually get it right more often than not. That's what my comment was talking about. You see most players fold...especially to big bets and in this case, an all-in.

Yeah but you literally said "only" he can do it. I gave you a clear example of that not being true as Seidel successfully called with J high.

PA is not the only player to make this call.
All depends on situation, the player they are facing, the previous hands that led up to this one, etc.
If you read a top comment you'll see how he played previous hands, and this wasn't how.
He gave himself away and this is how PA was able to tell. PA is not the only poker pro calling in this situation, guaranteed.
