Story time with Bill is whisky time with Bill. I love me some whisky time with Bill. On a side note, I would really like to see like an anual video compiling all the elements of respite you have been collecting so far. it's great fun seeing the individual models, but I'm curious on how the world's shaping up.
The white piece of plastic that you like so much is a mouth piece to a breathing machine. You use it to get oxygen into your lungs in home kits or hospital.
Makes sense to be more or less finished Respite at this point, but I would suggest maybe making a few civilian houses to go around the outskirts. You could go for a sort of mobile home park look, since most people in respite were adventurers who moved there, their houses could be their ships, still almost completely intact, minus some rust and a few repairs, and a few little add-ons. Could also have little pod houses, just for fun
I got the Stars in their Eyes reference because I'm older than water. I think that roll of black plastic stuff with the cool texture is damp proofing, goes in between courses of bricks to stop damp creeping up your wall... I might be talking complete cobblers, wouldn't be the first time. Loving your work.
I'm glad to hear you were so happy with how this one came out - I think this might be one of my favorite builds of yours too! Was really magical watching it come together. I know it takes a ton of time and effort off screen to put these videos together but thank you for all your hard work - really a delight to watch.
That really was lovely, and the final effect is striking as hell. It looks like the sort of thing that could easily be commercially available as an actual kit. I'm very much looking forward to seeing Respite in all its glory. Definitely keen to see more of the world, its people and creatures.
This was WONDERFUL! I love your sketches and visual style of how you put things together. That as well as the music just makes me feel like a kid again. GREAT painting job and story too. WOW!
The Bot Shop is right up there with the Trading Post and the Noodle Shop for my favorite Respite build. Also, I'm with you on the bases. I think trimming them down's the way to go.
The owner of Botshop is a real gentleman. If it were another person in his place, who, having received a demand to return the robot's hand to its place, could fold it into an indecent gesture that would be noticeable from afar.
The overall aesthetic doesn’t match my vibe because I lean more toward medieval fantasy, but what keeps me coming back for every single video is your incredible ingenuity and resourcefulness. Seeing your process from conception to execution is VERY creatively invigorating. Keep doing your thing!
I agree this is probably your best build yet. As far as bases on terrain it depends. It can let you add extra details like fences or vegetation, but for scatter it's often better to not have bases. Though if you're playing a game like Idols of Torment, the base is part of the ruleset, so it's kinda necessary.
Interesting, I ran a poll yesterday about terrain basing. 56% prefer to base their terrain, but I'm with you, basing terrain just makes using it harder. That hand turned out great!
I'm always amazed not only at how you manage to build stuff out of junk, but also how *good* it looks. This could easily be a 60 quid scenery piece from You Know Who, except it looks even better. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that this is a great Bot(ty) Shop.
Build Better Bill - now that's a bill I can get behind! Flame lets things stick to plastic because the non-sticky plastic has it's molecules all intermingled with each other leaving no room for outside interaction. Like the royal family. Burning it a bit makes it open up and accept other molecules, like that Meghan girl. There you go, SCIENCE! GET IN THE F* BEADBOT BILL. Also, the chair stacking game is much more fun with the shot glasses and bottle of bourbon. Obviously the previous owner kept those parts. I hate bases, they make it too clear whether a mini is in the terrain and therefore cover, or not, it takes away far too many chances to argue
Proud for this to be the first time my name has appeared in the Patreon list at the end. I think this is the best building you’ve made so far, looks great 👏
Amazing build, Bill! I'm right there with you about bases, baseless terrain blends into the underlying surface much better. Really looking forward to seeing your town all together :)
Definitely a great build, and because of your Patrons ... probably the best one yet. 💖🛠 Generally, I dislike Bases on terrain, unless it serves a purpose mechanically for gameplay purposes. I would love to see a video showing the "updated" terrain pieces .... when you get the time. Keep up the good work and pass on my thanks to your Patreon subscribers.
Fantastic! Funny coincidence that I just rewatched the trading post build. Love that giant hand and the wrecked spaceship. Love to see more Respite, but would love to see more of the Gutterlands. I think that it’s fantastic that all your builds layer on top of each other, but I especially like that there hasn’t been any glaring weak spots. Everything is cool. And the videos themselves are masterpieces. I’m not a new viewer, but sometimes I watch other RUclipsrs and then come back to yours and I’m like wow, there’s so much more going on with yours. Reminds me so much of T-nu or Crafsman’s videos, just busting at the seams with talent and creativity.
Absolutely loved this build! I think I like no bases as well. Would love to see more of the world too! Definitely encourages me to start building my own little things :)
Your chance is fantastic, I recently discovered your builds after seeing the bot collaboration and I very much look forward to watching your content Bill!
I wanted to say thank you. Thanks to you and your amazing edited videos you have inspired me to be more creative and take more risks in the creative space. Also cool Bot Shop :)
That was easily the best terrain build you've done yet. It's interesting to see you develop as an artist and improve over the years. You just keep getting better and learning. I hope you Matt clear coat them afterwards. I find artists clear coat mists but enamel rustoleum Matt clear coat does not.
Really great piece, Bill. I agree, it’s certainly one of your best, but I love all of your work. This one puts me in a Robot Carnival/ Katsuhiro Otomo state of mind. Really great design and execution.
This piece turned out fantastic! Really strong and characterful, it looks like it's been taken out of a cult classic video game or stop-motion film no one seems to knows about
I have to agree, this is one of your best builds. It looks so cool. It has that ramshackle Fallout look, but in your unmistakable Respite style. This is what keeps me coming back to your channel. I loved everything about this video. (Except for that chair stacking game. Seriously, how disappointed would a kid be to get that?) I'm eager to see the Ruster camp build, or the Meat Mountain one. They both sound awesome. I'll keep on coming back and waiting for you to release the BITG expansion with teams, the Gutterlands small unit skirmish game, and inevitably, Gutterlands: The RPG.
Just fantastic! I’m 50/50 on bases. Just depends on what I’m going to put on them. Here in Tennessee, we say Tin Foil but pronounce it “Tin Fearl”. Thanks for a great video.
Great build sir, as to bases for terrain I try to keep them minimal like you say to save space and make arrangements easier and more versatile. Sometimes though for protection and stability they are very much required.
😂😂😂just got a look at the Bot shop vid and I’m so impressed! So much so I’m getting inspired. The RUST is amazing as always. Details are amazing and the story you tell just puts the cherry on the sundae. THANKS BILL!😂👍😎
Fantastic build, love the washy tape idea, my daughter is always buying it so will get her to add some useful ones next time. Oh, if you are going to build the meat mountain check Tesco for clearance Korean BBQ beef jerky. No reason it shouldn't be authentic and smell good.
Thank you, Bill! I love your little buildings and the giant arm came out excellent! Also, I had to rewatch how you did the base rust layer as I've been having some issues with a paint job and that sort of gave me the solution I needed to move forward with my own project! Much appreciated!
Absolutely brilliant build. It's a wonderfully funny episode. You can see the effort that goes into these videos. Dry brush still makes me giggle. Your painting is really effective. Thanks Bill 😊
Hey Bill, in between building bead bots, buildings for Respite, making up the back story, stealing you kids toys and looking after Cat. Do you illustrate books? Your sketch book is amazing.
So cool! Its kinda cute really. I love story time with Bill. I wouldn't think of bailing out early. Lol Nice work! One of my favorite parts is always the rivets. Sorry...😅
That hand is one of my favourite things you've made. This whole build is fun, great job Bill. Although please don't make fun of Chair Game, it's actually a great game for anyone serious about tabletop RPGs.
when you flip through pages, you should move the hand out of the way for a split second so there's a freeze frame of all your artwork if it were to ever catch fire and die

I love it when a Bot Shop comes together.
I think you're making the right call on bases.
All those patreon hand bits 👌 with the titans hand atop the botshop. Clearly a second hand bot shop.
I’m proud of Bill for resisting having the robot hand flip the bird at the camera.
I got the Stars in their Eyes reference because I'm older than water. I think that roll of black plastic stuff with the cool texture is damp proofing, goes in between courses of bricks to stop damp creeping up your wall... I might be talking complete cobblers, wouldn't be the first time. Loving your work.
I got it! 😂
It would be kool to see the hole town put together
the hair curlers for the hull skeleton poking out is genius that looks awesome!
I'm glad to hear you were so happy with how this one came out - I think this might be one of my favorite builds of yours too! Was really magical watching it come together. I know it takes a ton of time and effort off screen to put these videos together but thank you for all your hard work - really a delight to watch.
your videos scratch every single itch in my brain. you are definitely one of my top 3 favourite creators on here. love your videos so much!!
Is that why it's called a "scratch build"?
That really was lovely, and the final effect is striking as hell. It looks like the sort of thing that could easily be commercially available as an actual kit.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing Respite in all its glory.
Definitely keen to see more of the world, its people and creatures.
Definitely a fan of no terrain bases 👍 Bootiful build as always
Name a more classic Bill move than sticking interesting plastic shapes together only to cover it up with kids foam :9
This was WONDERFUL! I love your sketches and visual style of how you put things together. That as well as the music just makes me feel like a kid again.
GREAT painting job and story too. WOW!
This has got to be one of my favourite Bill Making Stuff builds! Great one - I think I need to make a bot shop now :P
This is a really cool build! All those bot details really fill it out nicely.
Love that your blames your procrastination on Cat. Brilliant.
"When in doubt, stick a lot of cr4p on it" Solid life advice.
Working at the Bot Shop yea 🎶 Love the style of the grungy buildings of Respite. I can just imagine fearing for my life there.
Absolutely love The Bot Shop! Totally agree about bases on terrain.
The overall aesthetic doesn’t match my vibe because I lean more toward medieval fantasy, but what keeps me coming back for every single video is your incredible ingenuity and resourcefulness. Seeing your process from conception to execution is VERY creatively invigorating. Keep doing your thing!

Damn... That hand, looks awesome🤩
I'm always amazed not only at how you manage to build stuff out of junk, but also how *good* it looks. This could easily be a 60 quid scenery piece from You Know Who, except it looks even better.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that this is a great Bot(ty) Shop.
Story time is my favorite part. I love hearing the Respite lore.
Probably one of if my absolute most favorite terrain build I've seen!
Thank you so much for the long episode! I'm doing a lot of third shifts at my security job, and this gets me through the long hours.
Build Better Bill - now that's a bill I can get behind! Love this build! The paint job is my favorite part 🔥
I agree Bill, I think this is probably my favorite terrain build you've ever done. It's just overflowing with personality and charm.
Jordan Sorcery brought me here and now I'm staying. Love your work Bill.
Amazing build, Bill! I'm right there with you about bases, baseless terrain blends into the underlying surface much better. Really looking forward to seeing your town all together :)
The whole piece is wonderful, but oh my god that robot hand is AMAZING!!!
Love this stuff. It’s really sweet to see the collaboration.
It looks amazing!! Thank you for posting and you have a new Patron. Your videos give me so much enjoyment, I want to support!
Absolutely Beautiful.
Fantastic work! My vote is for Rusters next.
Definitely a great build, and because of your Patrons ... probably the best one yet. 💖🛠
Generally, I dislike Bases on terrain, unless it serves a purpose mechanically for gameplay purposes.

Alright that's sick. It may be Saturday morning but now, i must scratch build.

Came out looking cool as always. Specially the big hand on top
Absolutely loved this build! I think I like no bases as well. Would love to see more of the world too! Definitely encourages me to start building my own little things :)
Cool looking botshop the way you made it create alot of story telling. Along with you telling it aswell.
This is the best terrain piece you made so far I think.
Your chance is fantastic, I recently discovered your builds after seeing the bot collaboration and I very much look forward to watching your content Bill!
Respite sooo needs a restaurant! Like a fast food joint with a BBQ 😁👍🏻. And love to se some “habitat blocks” and then Ruster camps!!
I would love to see a shot of all of the builds together!
This is definitely a favorite build of mine as well. Wonderful!
I not only got your reference, but I'm called Matthew and it's night time now as I watch this (early evening) so it hit me twice as hard.
Yes, it's my favorite build too! Amazing work! Love your content!
This is incredible! I'd love to see ruster towns in an upcoming build, would be really cool!
Really great piece, Bill. I agree, it’s certainly one of your best, but I love all of your work. This one puts me in a Robot Carnival/ Katsuhiro Otomo state of mind. Really great design and execution.
I've just finished watching every single episode.
I loved every minute, and now I'm going to join the patreon.
Awesome, thank you!
I think this is your best build yet ....looks F amazing ! Love it. I think the sheer level of detail really makes it work!
That is your best build so far I think. And it looks awesome.
Very beautiful build, love BotShop!
To be honest i want to see both meat mountain and rusters camp. Thx you Bill can wait for next video!
Outstanding work Bill 👏 I love all of your terrain builds
This is definitely your best build so far, it's so awesome! I love the giant robot hand.
This piece turned out fantastic! Really strong and characterful, it looks like it's been taken out of a cult classic video game or stop-motion film no one seems to knows about
Such a great build! The giant robot arm puts it over the top.
I like bases - makes terrain feel more like a mini diorama. But you do you.
Great build, love seeing more terrain episodes!
I have to agree, this is one of your best builds. It looks so cool. It has that ramshackle Fallout look, but in your unmistakable Respite style. This is what keeps me coming back to your channel. Was good to see you and the gang again at Expo mate, hope the hangover wasn't too bad ) Great build btw, love the creativity
Those terrains are getting cooler every single time wow
😂😂😂just got a look at the Bot shop vid and I’m so impressed! So much so I’m getting inspired. The RUST is amazing as always. Details are amazing and the story you tell just puts the cherry on the sundae. THANKS BILL!😂👍😎

always love your intros! build looks smashing, bill!
edit: "bits and bots" might be a fun name for the shop, if you need one
One of your best builds. Great job and inspiration.
More of this please. Love these.
It could be cool with some residential buildings for the town. Great build and great video as usual!
Quite amazing final look!
That's so bloody good. Best one yet.
Fun built. Great imagination. Looking forward to your next project.
Thanks Bill! Perfect video for my crafting time today.
love the patron stuff. elevates the build alot 😘
Loved the EVA UNIT 1 reference. Would have been awesome to keep that theme going on the arm. Thanks Bill
I've been waiting for months for these to turn up in a video. The black thruster thing is adjustable legs / feet from kitchen cupboards.
I really like this one. Reminds me of Metal Slug style machinery.
Absolutely brilliant build. It's a wonderfully funny episode. You can see the effort that goes into these videos. Dry brush still makes me giggle. Your painting is really effective. Thanks Bill 😊
Praise be! A Bill Making Stuff and A North of the Boarder Video on the same day, we'll be eating good tonight!
Hey Bill, in between building bead bots, buildings for Respite, making up the back story, stealing you kids toys and looking after Cat. Do you illustrate books? Your sketch book is amazing.
As a struggling creator I always find your videos inspiring and fun! Thanks for doing what you do. Peace.
So cool! Its kinda cute really. I love story time with Bill. I wouldn't think of bailing out early. Lol Nice work! One of my favorite parts is always the rivets. Sorry...😅

Watching you rip through that foam board with a pair of scissors made me laugh! 😂 Scissors on foam board is so graceful.
