Before we get start be sure to.... CONGRATULATE DADDY DOUG!!!! Congratulations to you and your family! Welcome to the new chapter of your life! Proud of you daddy doug!
Bought a GV70 3.5T in early November 2021. It's an excellent vehicle - very happy with it. My first foray in to luxury SUVs, and so far I'm not disappointed. A couple things to note: If considering the smaller 2.5T four cylinder engine, don't worry about any meaningful difference in performance from the 3.5T. I test drove both, and I really couldn't tell the difference in driving power. The smaller 2.5T makes more noise, but is no less athletic. And, it costs much less, and gets better gas mileage. The reason I went with the larger, more expensive 3.5T is because I wanted the option package with the electronically controlled suspension, as well as the option package that included the matte green finish (which looks awesome). I value quiet and smooth, so wanted the less noisy engine and the smoother suspension. All in all, really pleased. I don't like the German vehicles, purely because of the nasty repair costs. One thing to beware of: you're buying this luxury Genesis in a most-decidedly un-luxury Hyundai dealership. If you demand a white-glove dealership experience like Lexus, Mercedes, Cadillac, etc., you will NOT get that at the Hyundai dealership.
People generally choose hyundai or lexus cause they are more reliable than german brands as well. Can't speak for myself though, bought a mini, my range is 540 km (336 miles on full tank) can't complain.
“One thing to beware of: you’re buying this luxury Genesis in a most-decidedly un-luxury Hyundai dealership…” Can concur! I went in for a test drive and my experience has almost turned me off from considering this vehicle.
@@numpty94 Lol. Touché. Sometimes the service is what makes the difference when you're trying to decide between two really nice cars...at least in my case.
@@twrendy9142 - Agreed. A friend used the Genesis Concierge service offered for his GV80. He was able to skip the dealership all together. (this particular dealer was a Hyundai, Genesis, Subaru, Dodge dealer). Really the only way to go if you want to purchase a Genesis with a personal touch. Either that or your at a dealer listening to the 25 year old kid trying to buy a base v6 Dodge Charger with a credit score of 420 and arguing with the salesman over monthly payment.
Not only do the turn signal cameras help the driver see what is next to them but they also encourage people to use their turn signals. Something BMW drivers definitely could use.
That would encourage me not to use them. Keep turning that camera on and off, on and off I'm afraid I'll eventually break it. I personally don't like that future.
Wow, Genesis is really putting your best foot forward. Never thought I would ever hear Douglas say he like something out of the Hyundai universe better than Porsche
NOT AMAZING OR HEADTURNING? I just got mine and I'm turning heads everywhere I go. I adore this car and I'm also having quite a lot of fun driving it. Best car ever...
Trust me, Infiniti is dead as is. If the new QX60 doesn’t save them, which I don’t see happening because it looks just like the pathfinder the brother, nothing will, definitely not their qx55.
@@GodsloveMuzik i drive Bmw but that Infiniti Q60 is a beautiful car with 400 hp. Lexus had outdated technology and most their engines are from 2006 with small modifications
@@PharmacyAve the Q60 is their best looking car. QX60 2022 is their best looking suv but I bet you me, Q60 is being overlooked cuz of its lacking tech and interior deficiencies.
I own the GV70, 3.5l Sport Prestige. Absolutely love it! A lot of features were missed in this review, the climate control screen has haptic as well as the steering wheel for safety warnings like front collision. The remote driving function also serves for the auto park feature outside the vehicle. The auto park features work well. Lexicon 16 speaker system. The interior roof is suede, not alcantara. Pano-roof At the prestige package, nappa leather. The quietness of the ride is also because it has full solar & acoustic glass. It also has launch control. When you accelerate, the seat backs squeeze you tighter. Also has headup display with some customization. Highway driving assist II can self drive fairly decently without hands on. Genesis Welcome lights at night The dial/infocenter control (white part) also acts as a touch device for writing in what you are searching for, or entering a destination address. Really do love it!
Way too soon for that. I think they’ve sold a total of 200 cars in UK. They are an unknown brand at the moment. I guess all they can hope for is to have sales and brand recognition like Lexus and that’s taken them 30 years to achieve.
@@MaximilianvonPinneberg I hear where you’re coming from but respectfully disagree. The fact that Genesis has only sold a handful of cars is a sign that they need a halo car to boost brand recognition and in turn, sales. While the R&D behind a halo car is indeed costly, a flashy and sporty car produced in limited numbers will be a great talking point among enthusiasts and people unfamiliar with the brand. This hype will make the brand much more desirable to those looking to buy a lexus or a car from other more established luxury brands.
@@MaximilianvonPinneberg I mean hyundai in general is very non central brand in the uk ,since it's been around a year and half from the revamp we should give it atleast 2 years more to spread their feet
I personally thing Genesis is doing an extremely good job at modernizing the automobile, but doing it with a design that is classy, and will look good for a very long time. Their cars look modern, without being obnoxious.
Interior is quite impressive, although I'm disappointed they went along with the trend of these coupe like SUVs. Not only does it look awkward it also cuts down on cargo space. This would look nicer with a more conventional squared off rear design.
Genesis, Hyundai, and Kia have all really impressed me with their design lately. Very modern, cutting edge, daring but not over-the-top styling in nearly all their new cars and I love it.
Saw G80 and GV80 in person at a parking lot for the first time and I must say the Genesis vehicles look much, much better in person than the videos/photos. GV70 is probably no exception.
Genesis absolutely killing it. The most beautiful cars on sale right now. I saw a GV70, the exact spec as reviewed and I was stunned. Gorgeous cars inside and out, I hope they continue to succeed and grasp a bigger market share, than what they have now.
The volume and tuning rollers really are a genius alternative to dials. Genesis doesn’t get enough attention to that engineering. It’s such a small thing but it works so well.
At the same time, placing two identical dials for infotainment and gear selection is the STUPIDEST thing I've seen any car manufacturers do. Wonder how many people are gonna crash into other cars or things trying to turn the gear selection dial instead of the infotainment one.
Such a underrated brand, they are really stepping up the game. When a genesis have a better exterior and interior than a aston martin dbx for 1/4 of the price, you know you have made it.
Brands that split into a casual and a luxury brand carry no prestige and have it very hard on the european market. Maybe oversees it´s different. I don´t know. But everyone deserves a fair chance I guess. Hyundai will shine, once hydrogen will fuel all cars. Our eu brands will stop producing combustion engines from 2035.

Having sat in one of these at the dealership, in red, with the red interior, I have to say it’s the nicest compact luxury suv on sale. Also, congratulations Doug, on becoming a father!
Doug is the type of guy to tell his baby about the cars in a Walmart parking lot. Congratulations Doug on your new baby I'm so happy for you. In a couple years he'll be ready for his first car review. I hope you your baby and your wife are having a beautiful week and are very happy right now.
Finally people are catching on that the Hyundai brand produces quality. I’ve owned only Hyundai’s over the last 17 years and only had one car in for a major repair that took a week, and never had a problem with it after that. Keep up the good work Hyundai!!
They took Kia with them too. I remember when Kia had a bad rep as a bad risk, both mechanically and with regard to safety. In the last decade or so thought they've seriously stepped it up. Had one a few years ago, used when I got it, and it not only ran utterly flawlessly it was actually also way more fun than it had any right to be. And it was inexpensive. Really loving what Hyundai is doing. They've always been a little cheaper than their immediate Japanese "rivals", and now they're looking to surpass them in quality, while still being a grand or few less! Smart.
@@butwhataboutdragons7768 I just started working at a Kia dealership and the company also owns the Mazda and Hyundai dealerships. I just bought a cheaper 2017 Accent (it's just temporary till my credit gets better) and honestly I really like it once I replaced the head unit (which is unbelievably easy to do). Loving the Korean car revolution
@@rustler08 Hyundai and Kia have had solid reliability since back in the early 2000s. There aren't any major mechanical difference on a Toyota Corolla Vs a Hyundai Elantra. Anyone with half a brain can keep them running for over 10 years without drivetrain issues if serviced properly. They have surpassed the sales on plenty of Euro and American brands in the Asian markets in the early days primarily because of their simplicity and reliability, also it helps when they're super easy to work on, unlike most European cars.
Korea's really doing what Japan did in the late 80s and 90s. Good quality cars that look nice and are fun as well as being great value for money. Not even just in cars either, Korean music is popular now just like Japanese was in the mid 2000s. Also the tech world. A lot of the most popular phones are made in Korea too. Japan's obviously still making great cars but it's interesting and cool to see Soirh Korea thriving at least in the western world.
@@WingManDK now? I believe so. But I'm talking about in the 90s Japan was really far ahead of everyone when it came to tech. Korea is now what Japan was in the 90s if you get me?

The funny thing is, they "made it" quite a long time ago. It's been a well kept secret. The rest of the car community is just starting to figure it out.

all crossovers are ugly, unless they look like a truck (Early 2000's CRV or Pilot Etc) , but even the attractive ones are shit because they're unibody.
I'm not sure what Hyundai did to shake everything up. But their new cars and designs are unreal. Whatever new teams/people they hired are absolutely killing it.
Current Head of Research and Development at Hyundai Motor Group is Albert Biermann, who previously worked as the chief engineer at BMW M. He is the sole reason Hyundai came out with their N-series cars. Chief designers at HMG are currently Peter Schreyer (worked for VAG 1979 - 2006) and Luc Donckerwolke, who was head of design at Lamborghini and responsible for the 2001 Diablo, 2002 Murcielago and 2004 Gallardo. Both were heavily involved in most of VAG's brands, including Audi, Bentley, etc. Hyundai Motor Group brought the best of the best to get them to where they are now and their continued growth seems to underline that decision.
Genesis has been absolutely killing it lately, all their products look amazing inside out and are very competitive. I hope they bring their cars to the UK soon!
Congratulations on your son Doug. I know those miscarriages must have been tough. I just lost my 17 year old son last week. Toughest thing I have ever had to deal with but your videos help ease the pain sometimes. Keep up the great work and cherish every second you have with your children.
My condolences, friend. It's tough to lose a loved one, much more a son. I hope you can grieve and recover to remember him in the good times you shared.
I saw one on the road yesterday in black or dark dark green. It felt like the designers paid a lot of attention to how it presents itself. It presented itself very well. Poetry of motion.
That really is a fantastic interior. I always judge car interiors by how they look on camera. It always shows up crappy stuff when you look through the lens. It must be great in real life. The only thing I would change is a slightly less red colour, but that's just personal taste.
You can feel the soft touch materials through the screen, kinda like when looking a BMW interior. Audi should take notes, they are the kings of black hard plastic.
Bought my 2023 gv70 five months ago. Absolutely love it!!! I have the smaller 2.5t engine than Doug shows here, but it is still pretty quick and as Doug said, it’s mid-range speed is fast, even in the 2.5t. First foreign car I’ve ever owned and absolutely one of my favorite car purchases ever.
It's literally as if Genesis engineers watched and wrote down, and improved upon every interior issue Doug has ever had. Genesis NAILED all Doug's minor gripes about interior design on luxury vehicles.
I test drove this car and was super impressed. I think people will come around on Genesis eventually. The connection to Hyundai is definitely keeping some people away from the brand right now.

I bought my GV70 in July, fully loaded, and it lives up to the hype. There are so few on the road now it feels exclusive and it’s definitely a head-turner. While I got mine early and paid sticker, I’ve heard that some dealers are charging as much as $7-8K over sticker because of demand!
Ralph, I agree, I paid full sticker for my GV80 and love it! Two other Genesis dealerships tried to charge me 5k over MSRP which I consider to be unethical. I would caution buyers to make sure they are within an acceptable range of a dealership however. I had a warranty issue and the local Hyundi dealer would not touch my GV so I had to drive it 4 hours each way to have warranty repairs completed. I later found the local Hyuandi dealer, who was supposed to open a Genesis dealership, cancelled the dealership so I am considering selling my GV80. Genesis needs to step up the number of dealerships or work something out with local Hyundi dealerships to assist in areas where there is no Genesis dealership..... just my two cents,
As an owner of 2019 G70 Genesis sedan, I upgraded to this close to two months ago. It was awesome to feel like (and often be) the only one on the road with it. It's such a good value/product that so many people are going to end up owning the 41k 2.5t entry level version that isn't really entry level as it compares to bmw/audi w^șc"
I just bought one of these 3 weeks ago and I am in love with it! Love the interior and exterior looks plus ride quality. In comparison to the Japanese brands, this is way much better. Audi Q5 & X3 may have just a bit better road feeling but for everything else, the qv70 is up for the challenge. Specially if you compare the price difference of this car vs the Germans, they are simply way more expensive when adding options vs the top gv70
I love Genesis, but it is clear that the brand’s struggle is the dealership experience. The fact that the dealership this GV70 came from is mostly emblazoned with Hyundai logos says more than words.
Luckily for you, it seems that the brand has recognized that. I believe they are currently making the transition to having their own dealerships, which should be mostly accomplished in some amount of years.
@@baobabs727 it's the rest of the dealership, not just a sign. When you buy a mercedes you get the royal treatment at a dealer. When you buy a genesis you go to a hyundai dealer and sit with bored yelling kids and people getting the oil changed in their econo car. A hyundai dealership certainly isn't "above me", i'm not being elitist, but each brands dealers have total different feels. An Acura / Lexus dealership is quite nicer than a Honda / Toyota dealership experience. I worked for dealers for my young adult years and there really is a big difference. You won't find unmonitored kids running around the showroom floor, smacking their hands on cars, and jumping around in the seats in the luxury brand dealers, but i've seen it many times in the "regular" brands.
Well lucky for you and others that don't want to be seen at a Hyundai dealer, Genesis has arranged for your car to be picked up and dropped off at home while it's being checked out during your 36 months/ 36k miles free maintenance period. I don't know about you but for me, that's a major plus!!. Who wants to hang out at a BMW/ MB/ porsche dealer with a bunch of snubbies???.
The rear bumper was probably a compromise for world wide delivery without having to make separate designs for different license plate specifications. But yes it does look the cheapest part.
The dealership I go to had GV70s in every color. They didn't look as good as I thought they would (yes, it still looks good esp. the interior) but that... rear bumper looked esp. unfortunate.
@@biglee13m It's just a rear bumper? So people in 2021 complain about new cars have plastic parts on the bumper, yet people don't complain about plastic bumpers on 1980's cars?

Hey Doug, I own the exact model and color combo that you showed here and the model year is 2022...I think it's a little more fun that a 4 out of 10, but maybe I'm biased. The thing is a little comfortable rocket ship 🚀
You don't have red seats? For 2023 models, the website shows red seats when you choose red interior. I wish the seats weren't red as it ends up way too much red.
Regarding the 3D instrument panel, Peugeot has had this since 2016 in their iCockpit concept (best known for the small steering wheel that most of all resembles what you find for computer games).
Genesis has been killing it for a while now. It's unfortunate that they have the stigma of being tied to Hyundai, which is probably their biggest downfall IMO
Not much of a negative stigma anymore. Hyundai has done better for themselves the last few years. They’ve improved slowly and are becoming a true competitor to other major car brands today. Look on the road today and you’ll see a lot of Hyundai around you. All in all It’s a budget car company, that while has had its bumps, are putting out cars that look good, perform and are becoming a lot more reliable.

I live in Vancouver, Canada and just had the GV70 w/ 3.5TT overnight and totally fell in luv with it. Its a Luxury CrossOver that has plenty of power. It won't outperform the more sportier Benz GLC 63S AMG power & torque nor the X3 M 40i, or the Macan Turbo but the LUXURY (quieter & smoother ride) and the VALUE Proposition will have you thinking a few times over if the German options are really worth it for the extra cost. GV70 has the edge in my books b/c of the Ext & Int styling PLUS high level of materials used in the Int as top notch. I like to invest my money whenever possible and change out my daily every 5-10 yrs. This GV 70 has many Luxury features, new updated interior, that ext styling and enuf power (less than 5 seconds 0-60) to have tons of fun with. Its exceptionally quiet in the cabin and in Comfort mode it really is a smooth ride. If ur comparing the GV70 to the Germans you will be blown away with all the luxury standard features (Drivers side massaging seats, front heated & cooled seats, that massive center screen, the move forward & back option on the key fob, massive sunroof & moon roof, AWESOME sound system, all the safety features, etc...) It really does offer an AWESOME VALUE vs the Germans. PLUS the scheduled maintenance for 5 yrs is INCLUDED!!! the price in Canada for a full load with the interior CF trim, 360 camera, quilted leather, etc is $75,500 including F&PDI. Just pay taxes and doc fee. I'm VERY Very impressed:-) Now, do I choose the non latest interior and refreshed exterior G70 sedan which is a little quicker but the rear leg & head room is tighter or opt for the roomier, up to date & latest interior GV70 that soaks up speed bumps & road imperfections that is also much more quieter, but about $10K more cost? Fantastic VALUE options either way. Cheers from Vancouver.

Hyundai and Kia have really been killing it in the past 10 years or so. It's crazy to think how far they came from when I first started to see them on the roads.
I just bought a 3.5T Sport Prestige and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. The attention to detail and technology is unreal. Nothing is spared on this sport luxury SUV. Above all, it's an absolute head turner.
Doug nails it this time around. I purchased my GV70 ( same he is reviewing here but with an all black interior) in October 2021 and it impresses me every single day. I test drove more than a few competitors and plainly, for the price, you cannot get ANYTHING that compares. I left my BMW behind...not going back. Im pretty sure Genesis is not making a lot of money on these. I do believe they want people to make the jump and then prices will slowly creep up. I now have almost 11k in the engine and have not had a single issue. I was pleasantly surprised. Unlike my BMW which had to go to the dealer on multiple occasions within 2 months of purchase. Then theres the concierge service, the 5yr bumper to bumper and then 10 years/ 100,000 mile powpertrain warranty. The only issue I have had is NO dedicated Genesis dealerships or service. It all happens inside a Hyundai dealership....other than that.. Im impressed.
I’m not a huge compact SUV guy, none of the other SUV’s in this segment really stand out to me (including the Macan, I think it’s a little unnecessary), but this is definitely something I’d love to own if I was shopping in this segment!! This and the regular G70 are my fav cars from Genesis right now, they’ve really knocked it out of the park in recent years!!
And after this video, Genesis outsells the competition. Even if they don’t, they win still because nothing else in this segment looks better. The only thing that comes close is the Stelvio, which until this one arrived, was the best looking compact luxury suv in ANY market but GV70 has just dethroned it. Great job Genesis! Nice work on your MPGs damn it 😂😂
I don't like dial shifters. I work at an oil change place and a rental company brings all their cars to using often I have to drive them back and pick up others and I get about 5 miles through town and I just have never liked button shifters either. Column or floor shifters are just what feels comfortable to me.
OK, great review. I want to point out a few of missed things, first and I am shocked it was not mentioned, when you put it in sport plus mode the speedometer and tach needles turn into flaming swords that sweep across the dials (and leave a fire trail). The car also had a drift mode (and launch control) that will put almost all of the power to the rear tires and can easily put out some amazing oversteer. Sport plus adjusts more than the shift points, and the steering, it also adjusts the suspension. Second, the dial used for the infotainment is also a touch pad like a mouse track pad. You can pinch to zoom, scroll, or even write in characters on the white part of the knob. The area that you mentioned 'cords or store something in there' is actually a phone charging area with a wireless charging pad, it is designed to hold the phone on the charger so that it will not shift off of the charging area (and you can close it to conceal the phone while it is charging). Last the seat controls on the seat back (facing the driver) are not so much for the back seat passengers, they are actually for the driver allowing him/her to move the passenger chair if needed without having to lean all the way over to get to the other controls.
Also, simply touching the drivers seat buttons will display on the info scream what that particular buttons function is. I’m talking about literally just placing your finger lightly touching the surface of the button will bring up the seat on the screen and indicate what the button you’re touching will do
I came down to the comments to see who noticed that he didn't even mention the "analog" tachometer arranged in reverse. Glad you commented on this. I think this "quirk" would be worthy of mention by Doug.

I love the design because it doesn't look like it goes off-road. Many crossovers make design choices that give cues that it sort of goes off-road but really doesn't. I also love that it's low to the ground for a crossover. Others jack up the suspension to give it a tall body-on-frame look, which is dumb.

The controls on the side of the passenger seat have another great point of functionality: they allow the driver to move the seat out of the line of sight to the side when nobody's sitting in it, then adjust it back if they pick up a passenger.

“One thing to beware of: you’re buying this luxury Genesis in a most-decidedly un-luxury Hyundai dealership…”

Big facts
Cars from various manufacturers have been using those for years, nothing new, but I agree great alternative to dials
I've preferred volume rollers over dials since I got a K70.
At the same time, placing two identical dials for infotainment and gear selection is the STUPIDEST thing I've seen any car manufacturers do. Wonder how many people are gonna crash into other cars or things trying to turn the gear selection dial instead of the infotainment one.

Got a designer who used to work for Audi and some engineer from BMW
They basically went to PSA and Audi designers with an open cheque book. Everyone has their price.
Hyundai and Genesis have designers from Bentley joined them not sure about Audi and BMW though
They don’t design themselves. They take bits from other segment groups and mash them together
Genesis has been absolutely killing it lately, all their products look amazing inside out and are very competitive. I hope they bring their cars to the UK soon!

I agree, I paid full sticker for my GV80 and love it!

Audi Q5 & X3 may have just a bit better road feeling but for everything else, the qv70 is up for the challenge. This… is the exact distraction I needed from work. Thanks, Doug. And congrats to you and your lady on becoming parents!

The generally public doesn't see a stigma related to either brand. Same goes for Kia. It is imo so-called auto enthusiasts and journalists that are holding on to negativity.
@@LombardiPls The stigma now comes from the terrible dealership experience in Hyundai/KIA dealers.
Id say out of the whole auto industry Kia and Genesis are just killing it.
Yeah, their engine fires make them great. JK. They actually do have serious engine fire problems.
@@daniellecryderman2954 So does the any other makers. What's your point?
I love how they maintained physical buttons for things you use often, but also putting some touch button that's not frequently used. They kept the A/C, hazard lights etc physical, and seat heat&cool fuction as a touch.
Me too, I like it a lot.
I'm VERY Very impressed:-)
Now, do I choose the non latest interior and refreshed exterior G70 sedan which is a little quicker but the rear leg & head room is tighter or opt for the roomier, up to date & latest interior GV70 that soaks up speed bumps & road imperfections that is also much more quieter, but about $10K more cost?
Fantastic VALUE options either way.
Cheers from Vancouver.
*Genesis putting foot on necks, they step it up to a different level. The interior and exterior have made the competitors!*

Corwin Law, based in Boca Raton, filed the lawsuit on behalf of owners and lessees of the GV80, which launched as an all-new model for 2021. The lawsuit claims the automaker is “promoting the GV80 luxury SUV, despite being aware of dangerous defects affecting the vehicle’s driveability that are documented in Korean news media and current customer message boards.”

Hyundai and Kia have really been killing it in the past 10 years or so. It's crazy to think how far they came from when I first started to see them on the roads.
Agree
When did you first start seeing them? Because they are one of the oldest car companies in the world. It took them almost 60 years to be decent.

The driving section is my favorite part on every vid! And Doug is my Gold Standard unbiased reviewer👍
12:43 we can actually see the Genesis logo pointing the dealership in the navigation menu screen, its just not only kia deleaships.
I am 1,000% certain without ever being in the vehicle that you can change that tune dial to move through your preset stations.
Genesis marketing team: we need to advertise
Genesis executives: let’s just get Doug to review it
All the marketing money were spent on the golf tour
Genesis is doing what Lexus did 30 years ago. Color me impressed. And another great review by Doug.
Except Genesis design is so much better than the boring generic look of the Lexus when it was introduced.
Lexus owner... lol
@@JohnLee-db9zt maybe because that was 30 years ago when most luxury cars had generic luxury interiors
K, now all Genesis needs is a trim that would compete with BMW M cars, AMG’s and RS cars.
I just bought a 3.5T Sport Prestige and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. The attention to detail and technology is unreal. Nothing is spared on this sport luxury SUV. Above all, it's an absolute head turner.
Doug keeps showing those blind spot cams. And I keep liking them.
Macan base is really unnecessary
The Macan S and above is ridiculous, at those prices, just buy a sports car and a rav4
@@jackandcokeyo agreed
How has no one mentioned the fingerprint sensor to start the car!!!
Definitely considering an upgrade from the G70 to the GV70!
Doug is the Go To Guy whne it comes to car inquiries. This guy will save you time, money, and a headache.

I think I’ve watched all the reviews, and Doug’s is arguably the *best/spot on* and most comprehensive. Having said that… there are still some *great* features that weren’t covered.
-fingerprint recognition/start (*first*)
-active noise cancellation w/triple paned glass
-launch mode
-active road preview suspension adjustment
-all-wheel drive (rear bias)
-adjustable ambient lighting
-Genesis logo projected on ground at night
-radar rear occupant seat alert (*first*)
-*best* highway driving assist available !!
-best warranty in class
I bought my GV70 3.5T Sports prestige (uyuni white+red/black interior) on 7/5/21. Work of art, absolutely love it! So original, well thought out and expertly executed.
Great review, Doug !!
I absolutely LOVE the new genesis cars they're gorgeous inside and out
Genesis is killing it!
I love the design because it doesn't look like it goes off-road. Many crossovers make design choices that give cues that it sort of goes off-road but really doesn't. I also love that it's low to the ground for a crossover. Others jack up the suspension to give it a tall body-on-frame look, which is dumb.
"..it's not like very tall, but its tremendously wide"
welp, thanks doug
Never seen Doug so excited and enthusiastic about any car he ever reviewed. Not even Bugatti.
Saw G80 and GV80 in person at a parking lot for the first time and I must say the Genesis vehicles look much, much better in person than the videos/photos. GV70 is probably no exception.
Congrats on becoming Daddy Doug! I hope you don’t sell him on CARS AND BIDS, your auction website for modern enthusiast cars from the 80s and up.
High marks from Doug on this one. Genesis hit it out of the park.

Genesis wipes the floor with the Euro competitors and for a better price. Really like where they're going as a manufacturer.
They already wiped Lexus. Just surprised Lexus hasn’t been completely eradicated off the earth
@@naveenthemachine Lexus' selling point is reliability, but with Genesis' quality and reliability, Lexus are in real trouble. Their warranty and customer care packages are also class-leading. I'm just glad they're giving the luxury car market a shake up because most manufacturers have been relying on brand status for too long.
@@keynesianeconomics4113 dude Lexus isn’t long for this world imo
The 2022 Lexus nx for instance that remember no ones even driven yet already got destroyed in the most humiliating way by the gv70 in every single way possible. Sure Lexus is reliable but at 50-60K that isn’t important. Go buy a Prius Camry rav4 corolla civic for that
The controls on the side of the passenger seat have another great point of functionality: they allow the driver to move the seat out of the line of sight to the side when nobody's sitting in it, then adjust it back if they pick up a passenger.
I can't wait for the gv60
It’s like Hyundai built the interior specifically for Doug
Very impressed with Genesis/Hyundai and their products - the big hitters stolen a few years ago from BMW M were a superb and very clever decision by Hyundai senior management. They are very impressive gentlemen.
Wow I like it! Not gonna lie though…quality and value both getting 7s was surprising. I expected a higher score, considering how much he raved about how nice it was in the video. It’s ultimately Doug’s score so I respect his opinion. Love you Doug!

It is definitely head turning. No one has seen genesis too much and this SUV looks sick. I honestly think cool factor should've been an 8 with styling being an 8 too.
I was expecting that to be much more expensive judging by the interior. I might actually consider a used one when they depreciate some.
