Every metalhead should be aware of how much you have to struggle just to be able to make a living off your music which is why I can understand the reason why they become more "radio friendly". I don't agree with the strategy as it's the heart of the problem when it comes to bands selling out however, being a former struggling musician myself, I can completely get why a band needs to evolve to stay relevant. My point being that I've never been a fan of emmure. I like 2 songs and I can't even tell you what the other songs called..just not my thing...the brocore sound wasn't my jam. I just prefer a faster more technical form of metal. But I will show any musician the utmost respect of they were one of the few lucky ones that are able to make a living off their art. well said. This is definitely skillfully crafted deathcore. People need to realize this genre is not just "metal" or metalcore. Emmure tends to play around with multiple genres, most precisely deathcore.
You know, even though I don't particularly enjoy Frankie's vocals all that much, I do really enjoy the atmosphere of this song. Very simplistic, yet effective. Sounds like something Stephen and Chino would come up with, can't complain with that :)

Emmure has really evolved, Slave to the Game is their best work. They're the most unique of the Deathcore scene by full on embracing Nu Metal via Limp Bizkit (which I've always been a fan of, makes sens why I like Emmure so much)
Instrumentally, every band in their genre. I love metal, but I'm not gonna sit here and pretend every band doesn't just chug open chords for half the fucking song.
They don't do pig squeals, sweeps, or chromatic riffs. And they're the only deathcore band I know to go full on nu metal. Catalepsy and some other bands have waded into nu deathcore, but are still more death metal. And yeah defragen1, the ambience is why I said they're latest stuff shows them evolving beyond just 00000, and putting more bass in the mix. Even Goodbye to the Gallows had some texture, its the respect issue that was way to simple, and which sound Frankie says he didn't like

My fav song of all time. The lyrics really connect with me a lot. I love all of emmures songs but i feel this is their best overall especially lyrically. Plus the haunting simple guitar melody playing throughout the intro and verse just really goes with the emotion of the lyrics too. Perfect!

You know, even though I don't particularly enjoy Frankie's vocals all that much, I do really enjoy the atmosphere of this song. Very simplistic, yet effective. Sounds like something Stephen and Chino would come up with, can't complain with that :)

People give this band (or other similar bands) so much shit, I don't really listen to them, but if I were at one of their shows, you can be sure as hell I'd be having a blast (especially after a couple beers lol). *Not* saying they're any good or not, just that this is a band whose live shows I'd probably enjoy.

I know Emmure is not a particularly technical or interesting sound, but I think there is certain kind of unique value in its simplicity and monotony. If I had to describe it as anything, it'd be not hard, not dark, but as a kind of soft fluid, punk-adjacent djent. I like it enough that nearly a decade later it's still saved in a couple of my playlists and it's not one that I ever think to skip.

Emmure has really evolved, Slave to the Game is their best work. They're the most unique of the Deathcore scene by full on embracing Nu Metal via Limp Bizkit (which I've always been a fan of, makes sens why I like Emmure so much)

Instrumentally, every band in their genre. I love metal, but I'm not gonna sit here and pretend every band doesn't just chug open chords for half the fucking song.
They don't do pig squeals, sweeps, or chromatic riffs. And they're the only deathcore band I know to go full on nu metal. Catalepsy and some other bands have waded into nu deathcore, but are still more death metal.
And yeah defragen1, the ambience is why I said they're latest stuff shows them evolving beyond just 00000, and putting more bass in the mix. Even Goodbye to the Gallows had some texture, its the respect issue that was way to simple, and which sound Frankie says he didn't like
I dont get why people complaing about emmure having simple guitar riffs? How is that bad, what do you think the punk movement and early metal was? we wouldn't have your favorite metal bands without those 1 note bands. its not about talent. its about the ability to make a song. and the emotion in it, if emmure wants a simple song and strong messages if you will then so be it. its who they are. if you want tech and solos go listen to standard crappy metal (my opinion).

Met Emmure in Wheeling W.V.! They were playing at a now closed down club called "Yesterday's" ! What a great show, well to them it was just a dive but to us it was awesome !What a great time we had! I was also lucky enough to have met knives exchanging hands there! Another awesome time! Their lead singer was all hyped up an bouncing around! His excitement made that show! I so miss having a club like that around here where we got to meet up and coming stars!
