Like I said it's the way of doing, the expression etc. Someone from Jamaica acts totally different as from somebody from DR even if they would look alike. It's not the "look" by skincolor it's the way they act, talk etc. If he was acting in a poor way, yeahh it wouldn't pass so.

All I wrote was that part of why Keenan Thompson can pull off accurately portraying a Dominican is because African AMerican and Dominicans have African roots. That is a historical fact that can't be denied. It would be similar to how maybe a Brazilian, Cuban or Puerto Rican could pull off playing a Dominican.
The prayer as a tip is very real! I worked in restaurants in the south, and there were always people coming in and leaving a religious pamphlet or offering prayers as a tip. 🤦🏻♂️
So great on so many levels: seeing my native dominican republic finally as a fully formed sketch, not just a nod in a fred armisen talk show, and a dominican version of the 1985 tom hanks and jon lovitz duo, at a time where more sketches like this are needed, just as I was thinking a few days ago. Also, maybe Lorne is now making my dream come true of picking a marcello hernandez centered sketch, where he exploits dominican culture?

Michael Longfellow and Marcello Hernandez are always GREAT. (Can always rely on Kenan Thompson to hit it out of the park). I wish we could see Longfellow and Hernandez more so they can show they can do more than one thing.
Absolute top notch sketch! Probably the best of the last 10 years. I could see them getting their own theatrical release movie and it would be “please take my money.” Mark my words, this cast will be remembered as one of the all time greats.

This is exactly what I miss in the SNL after the age of BLM and "politcorrectness" came in, which changed SNL, and not in a good way.
Reminds of the Cut Sketch back in the 2012, "Renaldo and Alexi" where Bill Hader and Fred Armisen played two Manhattan doormen
This skit is a classic. I could see them revisiting these charecters in the future. Marcello and Kenan are an amazing pair in this.
