    Ever since Melissa told the story of “thas sah” months ago she’s been trying to get the character on air and she finally did it! So happy for her lol! Also was a hilarious sketch too so thas goo

      That line was the best! I think that was adlibbed by Selena. It was so natural sounding, the audience didn't quite recognize the skeptical, unimpressed colloquialism. Puro Selenas! jajaja

      I feel bad, but I really don't like Melissa! I can't put my finger on it, but she really gets on my nerves! She's too animated or something. I know comedy is about exaggerating to a degree, but it doesn't work for her. Anyway, others like her apparently and she deserves good paycheck, as we all do. I wish her the best.

    Apparently Melissa said she had been saving t his for the right host. Glad it got on. She and Selena were great together and I enjoyed when they kept butting into Chris' rap. This whole sketch had a good throwback feel.

Selena demonstrated her acting range. I was impressed. I think she should do more character work. She’s half Mexican. I trust her to make good decisions on what represents her and her fans best. If you have a problem, you should send her a tweet. If I thought like you, I would be in Keenan’s face EVERY WEEK about how he portrays Black people.

    Selena playing with her hair when she tells Becca the librarian hanging out with books is “saah” is such an important detail. As a woman who grew up in LA and was part of this culture in the 90s (lol), we def played with our hair when we talked. 🤣🤣

      I came to the US at 12 and when I heard that accent I remember thinking "these girls were born here why do they talk like that" lmao! I made it a point not to pick up that accent (or so I thought). 20 years later a customer asks, "where in Mexico are you from?" and I said "why do you think I'm Mexican"? And she says " your accent". 😂😂😂😂😂😂

    Growing up in LA back in the 80s, this was pretty accurate of the girls I hung out with. We did the whole playing with the hair and hand gestures while talking. I was waiting for one of them to say, "for reals" or "I know uh". Good to see Melissa doing more.

      @PeaceSeeker049 are you Chicano living or raised in the 562? Because I am and this was funny because it IS relatable. Cholo culture isn’t bad, and it’s everywhere in the area of East Los around Pico. It’s cool to see areas like mine that frequently get called “ghetto” by actual racists get represented without resorting to them being criminals or gangsters. They nailed the fashion, accent, and chill attitude.

    "Daaamn. What's dat about?" LOL!!! That is fricking hysterical. Funniest part of the whole sketch. That delivery and expression had me laughing so hard my side hurts. This needs to be a recurring show with Melissa. Just turn her lose in this format and let her do her thing. She is so funny.

    Pico Rivera native here. Thank you for the shout-out SNL. Loved this skit, so hilarious!!!!!! I went to El Rancho high school with these girls and if you wear a wing then you've poked your eye with liner too and its "Sah" when you have to start all over. Melissa is brilliant, I'm so proud of my Whittier neighbor.

    Great skit. Cholas are like so underrepresented in like late night sketch comedy, and thasaad.

    The accent and the A are so real, thats what separates Pico from Montebello and East Los ha ha.

    I have lived in Pico Rivera my whole life, and I must say these are the girls you’d see at the Indoor Swapmeet 20+ years ago. But so damn accurate. Loved it. Hope they keep this skit going.

      Damn that's harsh, I was one of those girls hanging at the Pico indoor swapmeet 20 years ago! We used to walk all the way there from the Jims on Telegraph and back again for cheap makeup and school clothes. 🥰😁🥰
      I'll admit it thou, these were the type I grew up around, lol! My babysitter had the three dots tattoo and dressed just like these two and all my friends in middle school had to have the lipliner outlined lips and the crunchy hair. 😂🙃

    Love it! I grew up in Whittier which is next door to Pico Rivera and they remind me of my classmates and neighbors. All that was missing in their skit is the tagline "Eh, no!" which is another way of saying "...Not!"

      I’m an OG SNL fan. I’ve been watching since high school, I’ve always been fascinated by sketch comedy 🎭,
      Melissa is so good at it. I think when the actors write their own sketches, or participate in them, they more often than not hit it right in the sweet spot.
      SNL has so much talent, I’m going to watch until one☝🏼of us is no more.❤️

      They look somewhat like cholas did back in the 1970s. BTW, no cholo or chola wore red plaid, and they preferred Pendletons, not cheap imitations.
