    Good to see it all laid out like that, it's easier than trying to visualize it in your head, so thanks for that. I managed to pick up one of those i70s multi-function displays today, brand new, for £250!! What a bargain! 🙂

      No problem! I wished I had a video like this with it all laid out for when I was looking into what I needed. That’s a good deal!

    I'm loving your videos Alex! Seeing the hidden places behind and beneath is hugely helpful for me. I'm considering making the Telstar my next vessel, but i've only been on the boat once at the PCI factory, back when they came out with hull no. 1. At the time, I was able to climb aboard and get a quick cursory look and feel for the boat, but not see the details that you're showing me in your in-depth videos. You're helping me decide and plan my necessary upgrades all at the same time. Thank you! I love it!

      Glad I can help. You should join the facebook group for the owners. Also have a bunch of pictures from the build process. If you have any questions you can drop me an email or message on instagram!

    Great visual for the NMEA backbone setup. I know that you tend to mostly day sail, but with the larger and faster boat i was surprised that you did not appear to have picked up and AIS transceiver. You may find yourself in bigger waters with this boat surrounded by much bigger boats -- just wondering about the choice.

      Still mostly costal with this boat so no need for it really. If I was doing some night passages or country hopping then I’d definitely get it.

    Awesome 🤩 I'm looking forward to your first test drive. According to the ST1000/2000 manual, the wind vane should also be able to communicate with the tillerpilot over the network to create kind of wind steering system, right?
    Best, Felix

    • @floydstewart2956
      @floydstewart2956 7 месяцев назад +2

      Yep, you can tell it to either sail to a fixed bearing or to sail to the wind. I find sailing to the wind works better for me - I can set the trim, set the autopilot and then that leaves me to focus on the main sheet and keeping an eye out for the pesky lobster pots!!!

    So you just plugged power in everywhere ? Any problems with that ?
    This is the only explanation I have seen of this.

      The things that need a dedicated power supply get one then just that one power to the network somewhere in the middle of all the devices!

    Why is there a 'season's in sailing in the UK?

    • @floydstewart2956
      @floydstewart2956 7 месяцев назад +3

      Mainly the very short days and continuous grim weather from Nov to March. For many it’s the best time to go sailing as long as you’re confident to do so. But most winterise their boats, do maintenance etc.
