The Big and Little Chickie Chicken Pattern is an Instant Download Paid for Pattern by Mama Made Minis on Etsy which you can purchase HERE in collaboration with Pine and Poppy.

This is a higher priced paid for pattern at $12, however, you do get two sizes included in this pattern for two absolutely stunning crochet chickens.
I do think is very much worth the value and I was very happy to support this crochet designer who has really come up with multiple gorgeous patterns with a modern aesthetic. This crochet chicken is a non-stuffed stuffy. That is, the head is stuffed with poly fil but the rest of the body is left unstuffed. This makes it really loveable and cuddly and perfect for any baby to small child.
I actually think this would be a great gift to make for anyone who enjoys the homestead, primitive or even farmhouse aesthetic.
I love the details on the Big and Little Chickie Chicken Crochet Pattern. I think the comb is perfect, the knotted legs are such an original idea to me, and the tail feathers on the crochet chicken are just the cutest thing! You don't really get to see them in the front of the pattern but oh my goodness they are so darling.
I actually think they are the cutest on the little chicken.
The Big and Little Chickie Chicken Crochet pattern is easy enough for any beginner to tackle and yet advanced enough to keep a veteran crocheter intrigued with the possible new to them techniques.
With the Big and Little Chickie Chicken Crochet Pattern I was introduced to the size 7.0 mm crochet hook. This was new to me, I had never needed this size crochet hook before. Upon learning more on my Instagram reel, I have since learned the size 7.0 mm crochet hook is a very popular size overseas, as well as a very popular size when crocheting stuffs and plushies.
This pattern requires both a size 7.0 mm and 8.0 mm crochet hook and I would recommend against changing size of hooks. I tried that, and the result was a failure. To achieve the beautiful results you see in the pictures you need to stick with the asked for crochet hooks.
I like the idea of gifting the set of the large crochet chicken along with the smaller chicken because I think it would be so sweet to keep the large chicken in the nursery while the baby or small child can take the smaller stuffy with them on trips or just to snuggle.
All in all I really highly recommend this crochet pattern. I think this would be sweet to make as a home decor gift along with it being an absolute wonderful baby gift. The large chicken took me 5 to 6 hours to complete while the smaller chicken only took 3 to 4.
I think this would be a fantastic seller at any craft fair if this is something you are interested in crocheting to sell. Again, I think you will find a lot of value in this crochet pattern.

I’m currently doing the bear pattern. I would give the instructions a B, I am having to guess on some things. Wish there were more step-by-step pictures.

It seems like the body into the legs is what's giving me an issue, did you find that? There's holes in the project (literal holes)

I’m not sure but if I did I probably just winged it and filled it. No one would know if you added an extra stitch or filled it in when you sewed in the tail if the holes aren’t too too big
