  • Designed by Izzy Prado for 2 ½" strips, Double Dipping is twice as nice! Use this pattern to cut two different block styles to make two quilts at the same time! This design is made even simpler with our Strip Tube Ruler or the smaller sized Strip Tube Jr.
    The Double Dipping pattern includes instructions for six different sizes: baby, lap, throw, twin, queen, and king.

    I LOVE the idea of getting two quilts!!! I also LOVE the 2 patterns; they are super easy, yet bold graphic quilts (depending on your background fabric selection). I also purchased the larger Strip Tube ruler a couple of months ago & I can't stop playing with it (raiding my scrap bin!). I've got to tell you, Daniella, this ruler has revolutionized my quilting. I am an artist that switched over to quilting about 23 years ago. As you can imagine, I have many rulers/templates, but the Strip Tube Ruler IS above/beyond BRILLIANT!!! I will be visiting your shop in the future as my Mom lives in Poway. Keep bringing us your videos (they are outstanding!). Kudos, Lindsay, Sacramento ❣

      The quilt on the left is called House Blend. It is written as a 6 step program so can be considered a block of the month pattern. You can find it here: cozyquilt.com/Aspx/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=8240

    I would use the bonus-bonus as a fabric headboard...probably clearly covers a twin and maybe the head of a double bed.

    I’m looking for a neat quilt block using fat quarter and long quarter strips. Done in silver, black, gold, and white. Thank you pat

    The bonus quilt is fairly similar to the MSQC "Brickyard" quilt but not the same. BY quilt is made from two sets of 3 strips sewn into a tube and cut to an 8 1/2 inch block. Both quilts are lovely in my opinion.

    Just started my first cutting with the ruler. I am getting 2 corners cut off....... I will practice on old fabric today....... not sure what I am doing wrong...... I don’t think I am suppose to have to square up the block....... can you make recommendations or do you have a video that will help me get started.

      Pat Anderson it’s the same fabric as the first quilt.

  • @patanderson7136

    • @carolynmcmath494
      @carolynmcmath494 4 года назад

      The first three quilts (one on the wall and the bonus and bonus, bonus) were the same fabrics. The last three quilts were from a different fabric (Ombré dots).

    because I watch a lot of quilting videos (including this channel) I immediately noticed from the thumbnail of the video that it looks just like the MSQC brickyard video by Jenny that she put out 4 months ago and when I watch the video up to the halfway point I'm noticing that it's exactly the same process as the strip tube lattice quilt only they've separated the blocks into two separate projects instead of putting the main block with the two color strips in the middle and then the blocks with the color on the corners on the outside as the border.... how is this a new design when it's clearly another quilt that they already sell and the design from another quilt channel? Asking for a friend. 🙄

      Rae_of_Fashion, this is not a new pattern from either. The first quilt is MSQC’s Pecking order with a different layout. It is from an old pattern called Smoky Mountain Stars Quilt which uses a colored square for the center. They take old patterns and design different ways of making them and using different tools.

      @@julieedgecombe6087 Very well stated! This is the way it has been done for many, many years. Ladies do the what ifs with an old block; what if I changed the lay out this way, or what if I add a different color in one corner... etc. I just think that these ladies are so very creative! Happy to see all of their ideas. And sometimes, I even change it up a little. It's often times, all in the layout.
