    Heyo! Mitch and Day here 👋🏼
    We’re just your typical American-Colombian couple determined to live every second of our precious time here on earth to the fullest. After a 10-month solo backpacking trip through South America, I (Mitch) stopped in Cali, Colombia to take salsa dancing classes 💃🏻. I only planned to stay for a couple weeks, but God had other plans for me. I met a cute Colombian girl (Day) in class, those couple weeks turned into a couple years, and before we knew it...we were married 👰🏻🤵🏼
    Now we’re traveling the world full time as digital nomads, supporting ourselves by working online 👨‍💻👩‍💻
    Our goal with these videos is to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, give you an inside peek at our crazy imperfect lives, and show you that you don’t have to be rich to live an extraordinary life...all you need to do is make the choice!

    I bought a policy through WorldTrip. Had to buy the policy BEFORE I could see the full policy. When I got the policy, I saw mandatory arbitration in TEXAS. You can opt out of arbitration only by writing a letter to the General Counsel of HCC insurance holdings. Next, the "validity, interpretation and performance" of contract will be interpreted by the rules of the policy "shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of BERMUDA." What a way to make it so burdensome on a claimant that he walks away. And don't get me started on my "SALES CONTACT" no one picks up the phone and a recording says the voicemail is full.

    Thank you for your informative video. I recently went on an Antartica cruise and the trip was interrupted or delayed because of weather conditions (we had to wait until a storm passed before our charter flight would fly and had a 1 day delay and then we had to return half a day early in order to avoid a storm. I thought our credit card's trip interruption policy would cover it and filed a claim. My claim was denied because the trip interruption was due to "weather" and weather was not one of the allowed reasons they covered. What kind of insurance or credit card do you recommend that would cover this?

    • @ProjectUntethered
      @ProjectUntethered  5 месяцев назад

      That’s a good question! I know a lot of them exclude weather and “acts of God”, but you might be able to find something with this tool: www.projectuntethered.com/visitorscoverage (affiliate link)

    Thanks for the info. As I watched the video I noticed that category listed as 65 to 69 :$100,000. When you highlighted All others: $250,000, you said, "if you're 64 and under"... No mention for someone in my age category. I'm 71. From that I can only assume that Safety Wing would not insure me at all. Am I wrong?

    • @ProjectUntethered
      @ProjectUntethered  Год назад +6

      Hey Ricardo! Judging by the age ranges they list, I'd assume that means they don't cover over 69 years old. That said, I could be wrong, so it may be worth sending them a quick message in that chat box I mentioned. And if you end up finding a good travel insurance for seniors, please let me know and I'll make a video about it! :-)

    I strongly warn against this insurance company! The masseuse dislocated my shoulder. The doctor told me he thought I would need surgery. The doctor also said we could try physical therapy first. I agreed. After a week it was clear that the therapy was not helping. I contacted the insurance company. At first they said nothing would be a problem. But they refused to pay for the therapy because they wanted more detailed documents (I gave them all the documents that the hospital gave me. there was nothing more to add.) And immediately after that they told me that they would not even pay for the surgery, because they thought that the deterioration occurred until as a result of therapy. What a pathetic act.

      I always recommend doing your own research (hence the video). Safetywing covered 2 of my surgeries abroad and I have had good experiences with them, so I am happy to share them with others.
