*I bought this model for my 14 ft Jon boat. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love it!!! It pushes my boat with ease ( 2 men 220 each). I would highly recommend this to anyone.*
Great video, thanks. I’ve been looking for a solution to steering on my sportsman120. Rudder cable come out the back of the boat like this. Most set ups show cables coming out in front of the motor.
Awesome video man! I just had my kayak in the Belgrade lakes region in Central Maine. I need to install my minn Kota 55lb on my ‘yak for the same reason.. to run spot to spot. Great video! Very informative!
Probably a dumb question: What if water gets in the hull with the battery? I get a little water in my hull fairly often. Thanks for the video. I’m working on mine as I type this 😅
That is a standard flooded cell acid battery. It should be mounted and stored in an upright position to avoid spillage. It is true that sealed lead acid batteries and absorbent glass mat batteries can be mounted on on their side but that's not the kind of battery that you have there. If you can't mount a flooded cell acid battery upright you should replace it with one of the batteries that is designed to mount in multiple positions.
I got my Shadow Caster last week, bought a minn kota the next. I'm wondering, does mounting the rear handle like a transom steer straight compared to a side-car or side mounted trolling setup? When accelerating, the minn kota on one side using the existing rod holders and a plank to hold it offset - the kayak will not track the water easily with the tri-hull design. Make some big kayak donuts on the water perhaps. xD I'll give this a try with some over the top cables than through and experiment once I receive a marine battery.
Thanks for sharing! Have you found any info on shaft length on a kayak? The rule of thumb, for boats anyway, is 12 inches + distance between your transom mount and the water line. That's the bare minimum though. I can't find any info if this applies to kayaks but I'd imagine so.
I would be very worried about that battery, as it can leak fluids. Maybe try a AGM it cost a little more but it’s tougher and spill proof. By the way great video.🎣
As bad as I hate to say after I spent 300+ buks I come to accept that a goshdamn paddle makes much more sense ,safer, less hassle , and probably even quicker ,not to mention lighter!! But thatfor my side mount rigger riggd set up on a sit in single man . It got almost dangerous today ,pushing me every where but the way I needed to go .
*TYPOs* - You typed : "In this Video i show *hot* to install a trolling motor on the back of my shadow *cater* 123. ...be more *then* happy..." Should read *how* , *caster* & *than* ...?
I love how you did the steering!
The dog looks real enthused about all this 😀

I lik monitor ke kiri kanan agak lebih enteng🤩👍
Kere n saya sanggat sanggat suka sekali dengan video ini bang👍😍
Add a bull nose rudder on the troll motor...makes a world of difference on turn radius and tracking... I have 40lb mine Kota on back of my lure
New to kayaking I'm going to copy your set to fit mine now

Shadow caster and big fish are the same ?
Pretty cool dude. Thanks for sharing
Can you show how you mounted the plates for the trolling motor?
Do you have a link to the brass fittings?

You just bolt a milk crate to the back for a transom. I used wing nuts for easy off and on.
You could make a custom rudder to replace trolling motor when u remove it...
Awesome 👍
What size battery did you use.good video very informative
Nice work. peace!
The fitting for your eyebolts any idea where you got it from or what it is. Can't find it at the local hardware store.
I believe they are called "shaft collars"

That remote is what I had in mind. Didn’t know it existed. Please tell me where you buy one
Amazon 80$ just type in reverse polarity switch
Dude thank you!!
Where in Michigan are you from
How much amps can that remote control handel because I had a similar set up but the remote control for burnt out after 5 minutes of use
Any crazy malfunction? Same thing happened to me and I got stuck in full speed
Good job !!
I would like a kill switch just in case the remote fails. Maybe a dead man pull.
you think your modulator for 12v @ 30 Amps would work with my 12v 46 lbs thrust trolling motor?
Great video, but loose the garbage music at the first
