That is a standard flooded cell acid battery. It should be mounted and stored in an upright position to avoid spillage. It is true that sealed lead acid batteries and absorbent glass mat batteries can be mounted on on their side but that's not the kind of battery that you have there. If you can't mount a flooded cell acid battery upright you should replace it with one of the batteries that is designed to mount in multiple positions.

You just bolt a milk crate to the back for a transom. I used wing nuts for easy off and on.

OMG you have lil sunfish and bass. I have the same. I live in Illinois and find them in run-off ditches and I either keep them or return them to a lake.

Great video, thanks. I’ve been looking for a solution to steering on my sportsman120. Rudder cable come out the back of the boat like this. Most set ups show cables coming out in front of the motor.

I put stainless steel counter sink bolts and nuts on mine better finish=screws can strip the threads in the plastic ie s/s bolts /nuts a lot flatter hatch too

Just paid 30 for this. Lol i like it tho. If your a good fisherman you dont need a million dollar rod and reel. Lol specially if you do simple fishing. 6 ft pole is nice for shore fishing. With alot of coverage. Less likely to land in a tree.

Who can tell me how to swap from right to left handed?

Can anyone talk me through switching the handle on reel to the other side if I unscrew it and pull the handle out it won’t go in the right side but it’s supposed to be able to switch?

Add a bull nose rudder on the troll motor...makes a world of difference on turn radius and tracking... I have 40lb mine Kota on back of my lure

I would be very worried about that battery, as it can leak fluids. Maybe try a AGM it cost a little more but it’s tougher and spill proof. By the way great video.🎣

Just picked one up from Walmart today and put some 10lb braid with 6lb fluro, I'm very excited!

Pro tip: Take a hole punch (The standard office type designed for paper, or a grommet tool, or a leather belt punch will all work fine - but if you dont have any of those available just make one out of a hollow tube that you sharpen inside and out with sandpaper) and use that to pre-punch out holes in the foam gasket for your fasteners. I know it seems simple, but failing to do so could result in a snagged gasket when drilling the pilot holes or driving the screws in that has a chance of ripping the gasket and making it more susceptible to water leakage. Sure... it wont cause damage 100% of the time if you dont prep the holes, but due to the multiple mounting screws and since most kayaks have at least two hatches - thats alot of room for error!! Dont get me wrong, if you installed it without this step you may be fine, but while doing it if you have the time and the means to do so, its best to prep it out and do it correctly!
