As stated earlier the quality of the sound is low. That really REALLY hurts Yo-yo Ma's cello. It's a shame because I love both of them and would love to hear a higher quality of this. Either way, great interpretation.
This was when I thought Yo Yo was god. The same member came to Japan in late 1980s while Stern was so frail, missing notes in a few places when taking turns in the rows of arpeggio. Guess what Yo Yo did, he covered the violin part on his cello.
I dont think so, the other day I saw in paris subway an european playing to play bach g minor adagio and it was awful just a crime against music, by the other side this is a fantastyc cellist and he comes from china the origins doesnt have to do anything with what you do, also your comment sounds a little bit nazi to me
I must say I don't much care for this performance. Yo-yo Ma and Stern both sound great individually but their sounds don't mesh well together at all, in my opinion. Perhaps it is simply the recording quality...but having heard both musicians before I still believe they don't mesh very well together.
Muy bueno !!!!! Gracias, desde argentina.
Even thou the sound is poor I can say it is a unique interpretation by two Maestros. Larga vida aquí y allende los mares.
simply amazing.....
Pure godliness.....
BRAVO!!
This is from the film "Carnegie Hall Live at 100" They only played this mvmt.
Wow, the orchestra is amazing in this performance. I wonder who it is.
this is the new york philharmonic for sure
I would have loved to hear du Pre' and Perlman...
was this at the Carnegie Hall?
awesome by the way!!!
wow
Brahms Double Concerto for Violin and Cello.
I preferred this concerto by Nathan Milstein with Grigoriy Pjatigorsky with Fritz Reiner orchestra

Is that the same Isaak Stern that was portrayed in Schindler's List?
nop, Itzhak Stern is quite common Jewish name.
mmm david oistrakh and matislav rostropovitch did played this piece, and in my opinion is just he best thing ever

its like that violin and that cello are having this really intense battle and the orchestra are noisy and excited spectators..
