Could you suggest which type of traits will make an engineer employee highly valuable or unique that attracts more money in career ? Which books would help in this scenario..

The traits are going to depend on the specific role and company! Would recommend looking at job posts for your ideal roles, analysing the job post/role description, and theming up the top competencies / skills that keep coming up across the roles.
