hi! I'm getting started with biologicals in the near future, but I have some questions before I start. How long can you take these shots? Whats happens if you stop taking the shots?
From whaat I got told here in UK as long as it works or has started least working up to 3 months and if happy will continue on it indefinitely so.... I dont know. Is certainly working for me and is well on the way to clearing mine up practically completely, should be cleared up by the 16 week stage
Is this a good treatment for Dyshidrotic Eczema? Also, my Dyshidrotic Eczema typically only occurs in the warmer months. I've tried diet, staying away from harsh chemicals, moisturizing my hands, etc., but in the spring/summer months, my hands specifically get hit hard, with a few minor blisters on my feet. The blisters on my hands range in size from small to dime size. I've been using steroid creams for 15 years off and on, and at the moment I am using the most potent one prescribed but it isn't working.
Dupixent in very expensive. As a Tier 5 Biologicals, the cost of 2 pens of Dupi (300 mg each) costs $3200 for the Medicare and patient is expected to pay 1/3 of this per MONTH. This is useful to about 30% of the patient population. Not more! So, anyone after paying an arm and a leg cost has only 30% probability that this Medication/Biologic will be useful. You may most probably may not get any benefit. Even if you get a cure, you NEED to use it for life, otherwise eczema will come back and hit you more vigorously again. You feel you got trapped in this ultra costly Biologics!!! Beware! Explore first a very cheap UVB TL01 narrowband light treatment for about 3 months BEFORE spending enormous money on Dupixent (a monoclonal antibody against the major subunit of IL 4 and IL 13 Receptors).
I commented 1 year ago about this giving me hope... i had to jump through hoops to get my insurance to cover it. however, i have been on dupixent for a few months and it has changed my life, eczema is not something i think about anymore. dupixent saved my life. if nothing else works for you, i urge you to talk to your doctor and try to make dupixent work. it is a miracle.
This gives me so much hope.
My Son is getting eczema
Please read my post above!

There are many different types of eczema. It is best to consult with your dermatologist to see if this treatment is right for you.
