Do you plan on making more videos about the LaserPecker 4?
I would like to see a test with the third-party software LightBurn.
Also would the IR laser be able to 3d engrave metal parts by adjusting the Z-axis accordingly? This would open up a lot of possibilities for making custom jewelry such as necklaces with 3D pictures.
Another thing to consider is the possibility of making holographic effects on metal parts by engraving small lines into metal to diffract light which gives the holographic effect.
Definitely saving for this! Oh, the possibilities!

Have you tried to 3D engrave metal or wood? So with Lightburn you can engrave while moving the Z-axis to refocus every layer...

Almost 2 months and not commercially available, I was going to start with the LP 3 and upgrade to the xTool when business started going. This would kill 2 birds, but you can still only use one laser at a time.
If possible would like to see some engraving over 3D printed parts (PLA, PETG)

Awesome vid. On the different metals, how deep does it engrave? Is it more of a surface engraving or is there some depth to it?
From what I've seen, you can catch a nail on it. Of course it probably varies with softer metal. I'm amazed it etches Titanium.

It can do them really well! This laser was made with those guys in mind.
Can you try it on gold or silver jewelry? And gold plated silver jewelry?
How does it do with HDPE plastic? I bought a cheap laser engraved from Amazon but it took like half an hour to do one pass for a simple 3”x1” word which was disappointing because it wasn’t entirely clean and most likely needed another two passes so I’m curious how this one would do being itll be about 6x more expensive.
So with that Accessory that you used for your daughters rolling pin, does that eleviate the need for the Roller accessory as in for TUMBLERS. Speaking of Tumblers can you do a tutorial on Tumblers? Thanks ! Great video!!

Hey can you hand hold the LP 4 in an upward position? To make walls and pipe above you? Or would the LP 2 be better? I'm engraving steel mostly.
Although it’s heavier than the LP2 you can hold that way. The LP2 won’t engrave steel I don’t think.

Yes you can! It comes with depth, power, and resolution settings. It’s available on kickstarter at the link in my description.
Do you think it will deep engrave on silver and gold? Or is the 1064nm laser at 2w to weak?
It definitely will engrave on silver and gold. I just didn’t have any to test on
Does the laser pecker 4 have a similar function as the "trolley mode" on the laser pecker 2?
The trolley mode is substituted with the rolling bed on the 4
I want to engrave my handcrafted Pens (wood, acrylic, antler, etc). Do I need to purchase the rotary attachment for that?
If you want to wrap the pens with an engraving, yes. If you just want to put a line of text or something, no.

how heavy is it? I need to know to travel overseas. And also, would an adaptor be enough to use in Europe? or does it need a converter?
It’s a little over 9Lbs and I’m not educated about the plug conversion sorry
How well does this etch hardened steel? ie, a knife blade?
It’ll just be a light marking. For a real deep etching you’d need something more powerful
I’m totally new to this technology. How do you aim the laser to hit at the right spot on the object you are printing on? Getting the right angle of the print on the object and so on?
The laser has a preview mode so you can make sure it’s exactly where you need it to be. 👍🏻

Yes, I believe so.
Is the laser pecker 2 solution for long engraving better (the wheel system that could in theory go forever) vs the electric slider. Can you use the LP2 wheel with the LP4, are they compatible?
I do like the table a little more than the third axis. I think they work together but just to be sure I’m going to be testing backwards and forwards compatibility soon 👍🏻

Yes! Specifically designed for such projects.
Is the LP4 compatible with the 3rd axis accessory?
As far as I’ve seen it should be. I’m getting ready to do a comparison video of the two and utilize all of the accessories back and forth. I’ll find out for sure!

Yes it can!
Does the shield fit on the Laserpecker3?
I don’t believe it’s compatible
Can the laserpecker 4 be used handheld like the laserpecker 2?
Yes. The bottom plate comes out and it can engrave while still on its stand, or you can take the module off and engrave like you would with the LP2 except you’d have to hold it in place because the head is so much bigger it’s not as balanced.
@The Reformation Woodshop ok thanks. If about half the stuff I'm engraving will be handheld, am I better off with the laserpecker 2 over the laserpecker 4?
@@evobudbrink probably the 2. The 4 is bigger and not as easy to maneuver. Although it does do metal so that’s a plus.

Absolutely! I engraved my name on my belt sander.
How deep does it go on metal?
It depends on the metal you are engraving and how many passes you take.

It’s not, that’s just how the Kickstarter site works. For pledge based projects sometimes the people or product you’re backing doesn’t work out and you don’t end up benefiting from your pledge. In this instance LaserPecker is a trusted source that has done many Kickstarts successfully and people who pledged have already gotten their units. 👍🏻
