What's the name of that song? ("heavensward theme" seems to be something else and I'm not far enough in the story to know)
@@MisterL777 "revenge of the horde" from the nidhogg trial has that melody in it, but i usually listen to "night in the brume", its just a slower version of the melody. the daytime ishgard theme also has the same sound but "night in the brume" is my favorite version of it! be careful of looking at the nidhogg trial if ur not done w heavensward yet tho, there might be spoilers

Dude, this played on the piano has such a vintage 8 bit final fantasy feel to it. That's crazy. Like the original feels so energetic and busy busy busy. But this cover feels so much more chill.

Started to play FFXIV some months ago and finished 5.55 this week then watched the trailers and some parts of the live letters just now to avoid spoilers.
And I must ask what the song in 3:27 is? Endwalker's motif? Sharlayan theme? Because I loved this part so much in this trailer and cried when epic version of this song played in the final part of the launch trailer.
congrats on finishing MSQ! I'd say the beginning, and then 3:27 are the main themes for Endwalker. and yaaaaass! the last part of the launch trailer is awesome!! working on covering that one as well ;)

nice attempt, but without either a percussive backing or more of an attempt to arrange and adapt the melody for piano, this feels kinda flat and basic, especially since Square-Enix themselves tend to do piano arrangements of the music in their games (look no further than Scions and Sinners for a recent example!) and when they do, they tend to add flourishes and natural pauses to the arrangements to add some emotion.
I can say at the very least this is accurate and you got a good ear on you for at least being able to track this all out.
aha I agree completely. I don't think my ear is that great and I actually struggle hear things other than the bass line and melody. The note velocities are also relatively static, adding to the flatness you mentioned. I tried lmao, but def has much room for improvement
