    Thanks for posting. We've sailed on the QM2 three times now, one of them a very rough crossing -- but that amazing ship can handle rough seas like no other ever built. We did an October crossing, sat in the dining room sipping champagne in 30 foot seas. You'd look out the window one second, saw only sky, the next, only water. What a ship.

    Waves at 6:31 and 7:27 were impressive. I did a QM2 crossing in rough weather December 2017 not as rough as this but pretty good. Not a boring video for those of us who have sailed on this magnificent ship in stormy weather. A true ocean liner not a hotel atop a barge.

    Excellent footage! My wife and I were on the Royal Caribbean "Freedom Of The Seas" and we encountered waves up to 17m they were saying! OMG the ship was going up and down as much as my Sea Ray 390 Sundancer does in 3m waves lol. She handled it no problem though... Other than some broken dishes and a few people fell and got hurt. Nobody got seriously hurt thankfully. Lots of people puking though... You could smell it almost everywhere I went. Thank God my wife and I had dramamine, otherwise we would have been throwing up as well I'm sure. It happened at night, so we couldn't see much unfortunately. That was a crazy night though ;)

    150,000 tons and way stronger than the original QM2. This one was designed right. If they'd only followed through and done the same for Queen Victoria. The new Queen Elizabeth is somewhat better but the QM2 is the gem.

    • @Steve9312028
      @Steve9312028 6 лет назад +3

      Hi mrFalconlem,
      A small correction if I may. You stated: 150,000 tons and way stronger than the original QM2. The original ship you refer to is the RMS Queen Mary. There is no “2” in that particular ship’s name. She was named in honor of Mary of Teck, the Queen Consort of George V of the United Kingdom.
      Both the Royal Navy’s new aircraft carrier and the Cunard ship, HMS Queen Elizabeth and MV Queen Elizabeth respectably, are named after Elizabeth Tudor, the first Queen Elizabeth, not the current Queen.
      If both ships had been named after the current Sovereign of the United Kingdom, they would be referred to as HMS/MV “Queen Elizabeth II” as she is the second Queen Regnant of that name to reign over the British nation. And don’t count the original RMS Queen Mary out when it comes to structural strength. Remember, she was designed as an ocean liner, with the storms of the north Atlantic in mind when she was built. If she were functional today, she would match any ship a float in terms of elegance and style.
      😜
