How is this a good product? It is extremely niche... Higher up the market, people use digit. Lower down the market, people use cards or even just a simple white/blackboard. The only market is people issues with finding electrical source or has to be mobile/portable.
I would have taken the deal. a higher salary with lots of investment and a valuable shark is definitely worth 50% for an entrepreneur who had a lower salary and been stagnant for 10 years.
It's a good product, but it would be interesting to know how big the manual scoreboard market is. And I'm guessing repeated purchases isn't really a thing.

laserbuddha if you want an interesting concept, my mom who is a teacher is currently having a traffic light made, the colour reflects the class's behaviour. In terms of 50/50, look at it this way, a shark would never take the deal if he knows he won’t make a lot of money. With 50/50, then you’ll make just as much as the shark.
He should've countered at 40% or 45%. It's easy enough to just say, "I built this company from the ground up and I'd like to keep the majority position." Then sort out the numbers.

This doesn’t make sense, the score changes take too long, especially for basketball when the score goes over 20. The current manual system is much faster than this and there are already cheap electrical scoreboards that go off a push of a button for 1pt, 2pt and 3pts
Yes and no. Old manual is quicker, but this looks better and you can make it bigger to see better. Also basketball still takes 10-20sec for attack on average. Also some number changes would be quicker than other.
Yes but in theory if a game goes over 100, you only need 3 of these numbers. Most other score boards you need for example 2x8s. 3x1s. Lots of space oh we lost one. It's a good product
What it needs is spring loaded number buttons along the bottom. When pressed the panels automatically flip to the right number, bigger (multiple meters) can have handles instead so introducing the energy is easy enough
Guy was used to making 120k in the business alone. Subtract 75k. That's 45k in profit and Glen valued the business at a 9X multiple. That's a very nice offer.

Nothing wrong with making one-pagers for mom & pop shops though, but anything bigger than that and your prices should accelerate.
I would have countered Glen with 49% stake +75k salary. I think Glen would have understood that the founder wants to keep the majority stake and would have agreed to it. It's manual I see . But I have a suggestion for a physical thing but automatic. Here it goes: the score handler clicks the score number or adds it by clicking '+' plus symbols which are only accessible and assigned to him and then if and when he does so the numbers could be made to be made by some technical intervention or technology like making it rotate very quickly for example if we want a '1' score from zero'0' the handler clicks one or clicks '+' then then all parts in the left side turns to blind side to make one without having a human to do that. And this will happen immediately. It's I think is possible

I will be really honest this seems like a step backward more than it is a step forward as far as these numbering systems go. Even going from "1" to "2" includes flipping most of the little bars that make up the numbers around. Every scoreboard I have ever seen even like at smaller games has been on an electronic board. The pros have the nice ones, the kids have just the basic ones. I assume some computer is feeding them the information or otherwise some guy has a terminal he's able to actually just enter the numbers with a keyboard or whatever. Nobody is gonna want to have to flip all those things around, in a fast scoring game like Basketball it would be an absolute nightmare.

Hi I’m Jenny and am not part of shark tank Australia so for that reason I’m out
Lol I wasn't expecting any of the jenny jokes on any other dragons dens
I salute you! I wanted to make a Jenny joke here as well!
Is there a bot that spams this comment into every Shark Tank posting?
The guy is the definition of long-form conversation.
He wants someone to run his business for him, doesn't want to give them an equal share. He didn't even give them margins!
I was thinking the same was good offer with salary included
3 minutes into the video i already noticed how dumb this dude is. Even at 60% i would accept. This dude is gonna be running my damn business, thats why...
He said he was making 200k on Aus and mentioned good sales in the UK, but never stated the amount.
I really think he just didn't clarify the profit of the business world wide in a single figure, which with the Aus business included would make 50% too high.
Chazozo Chan the shark would definitely double his business
@@Elesounds Exactly! its like saying this: you will give me half of ur company, then i will make it 2 to 4 times bigger. Wtf is the problem. People dont want stability, security and knowledge, some just want the honor of still owning most of the company they started, which is delusional....
I think all the sharks in AUS TV are awesomely likable and the ladies are so gorgeous and fit!
STEVE's COACHING IS GOLD!!!
I think this is a good guy and a great inventor I'm just a little confused on the product if anybody needs a scoreboard won't they just get a electric one that actually keeps the scoring you just press a button to add the score
This is pretty cool and neat but I just have a hard time seeing this take off on the market
I am a businessman but then again my business is an AC and heating not selling scoreboards I do sell products and equipment but not scoreboards so for that reason I'm out
Bruh that salary offer actually made it a REALLY good deal he should have taken it
Sharks-asks him about sales
David- possibly on the right circumstances if everything was going good and my moons and shakras were aligned so maybe it could so happen maybe possibly
Good call, no one should give away 50% of their business for 200 Aussie grand which essentially is seed capital...great product, he will find investors and a capable CEO and COO to run the business
10 years and he hasn't yet.
The comments are funny af
out of control.
9:42 hahaha i love how the producers go "can you move a bit to the left mate" and it displays the pitcher with "LOSER" in the background
I’ve seen this thing in my country all my life, they use it for a smaller field so it wont require any electricity. I thought it was pretty common. Jeez i should’ve known.
I thought he was fine they kept interrupting him at the beginning they wouldn't let him finish anything. Don't blame him for saying no.
He is an intelligent man, he just dosent have the buisness experience that simple. Not misleading anyone just needs guidance.
I think it’s a question he asks to start a direct conversation and hold the attention
Janine is so attractive. Her wits is shining through
I like how “loser” keeps getting framed in the background
I think this guy is smarter than he appears. I don't think he was prepared to accept anyone's offer. He's got a product people are going to like. What better way for FREE ADVERTISING.
his idea is so insane the sad part is he cant pitch it nearly as good as it reaaaaaallly is
Clear numbers presentations. Hidden costs. Even best cannot take off. Betting horses.
This guy looks like John de Lancie and It is like having Q from Star Trek due to the appearance and personality but in real life and on The Shark Tank Program.
I have seen a similar scoreboard he says he invented being used in my school(India) back in 2004.
He may take that offer to learn how to build solid international business. O man... We don't live forever. Someone who can teach you have limited time in this life.
Why not add a software and self-changing mechanism to the board that changes through bluebooth connected to an app? 🤷♂️🧠💡
Why not get a digital one at that point.
Andrew Dzierson still looks really nice 🤷♂️
@@andrewdzierson2036 probably cheaper though
He should’ve taken Glenn’s deal! He would’ve gotten a higher salary & cash for investment & growth. He could’ve sold to gyms, schools, parks, homes, arena’s & even churches.
i think i’d get this just to play around with the numbers. they look so satisfying.
As a figeter myself I can agree with you it looks super satisfying to flip the numbers and also as a person who listens to ASMR because I get the tingle affects from ASMR which if you are a person who cant get asmr and dont experience anything from it let me tell you it feels like your brain cells are being hugged and as a person who listens to asmr it sounds like it could make some good sounds for asmr as well as satisfy my fidgeting needs as well.
He needs to stop with the preambles to all his answers, answer the damn question otherwise it does look like you're just dancing around it. Are you a businessman or a freaking radio host or writer, even? You make scoreboards. I can't think of anything more number oriented or to the point and obvious than points scored in a game. He just talks talks talks.
I like how Jenniene is always up to try something new
