Anyone know what Marks means by sliding fees? I know sliding fees refer to variable fees based on ones income but what does this look like in the eyes of a firm? Is it that beverages in high income areas will have higher prices?
For anyone saying he tried to emotionally manipulate the sharks, I’ll say this… The sharks were saying it’s a tough business, he said he’s dealt with far worse. This is his SECOND food business and got into Kroger all by himself. He can do this with his eyes closed and would eventually get there. He just needs some help financially to get there faster. A lot of times entrepreneurs on the show drop their emotional story card to guilt the sharks. He only brought it up because it was needed for his argument. Two different things…
The emotional stories are pushed by the producers. They love it when someone sheds some tears and makes the episode more dramatic. I'm sure they even choose many of the contestants just based on their sad (or inspiring) stories.
For his son to have cancer and he is till out hustling at 100 percent.. is so admirable. This guy has inspired me. My little brother also fighting to beat cancer.

Also, the sites are absolutely gorgeous. I was privileged to spend a night at the top of Mt Acatenango, at 12,500 feet up, and watch Mt Fuego erupt at least 50 times. Spectacular country.

I feel this is one of those cases where the investor wasn't willing to move on equity (insisted on his 25%) but might have moved on the money to be paid for it (from say 130k to 150k for the same 25%, thereby taking the company value from 520k to 600k).
Too expensive for what it is. Water, sugar, and some fruits and flowers. There’s a reason the dirt poor Latinos make this stuff at home and don’t buy it elsewhere .
