I'm glad this product was accepted by the sharks the good thing is that the phone will save elderly people from getting targeted by scammers.
Not really, there’s ways around it, especially with people with dementia who can’t remember who they actually trust. You can still call them & trick them into doing everything you need, not having a smart device or computer doesn’t change that, remember people have been getting scammed since the beginning of time therefore it’s not hard to revert back to old tactics that were used before smart devices were the normal.
@@MsNoPixel it just reduce the potential risk
hello sir can you please send me your credit card info (typical scammers always saying sir sir) 😂😂
It would have been sick if they had just called Naomi on her Kisa phone from the hallway and told her they accepted her offer

The ukranian says to the russian,
and the russians says to the ukranian

I love the idea of this. The custom buttons could be a barrier to quick buy-and-use though. One possible solution would be, to have buttons 1-6 or 1-8, sell it in regular stores. Contact the company online, upload images or words, company mails out stickers for the buttons. The customization is probably a huge part of the cost. Make standardized units, offer free stickers mailed out with whatever you need printed on. Done.
Lose a barrier to entry, decrease the cost.
Great idea!

I have been a caregiver for individuals with developmental disabilities and autism and a phone like this would actually be great! Seeing the names and pictures and large buttons is super helpful. Plus if you could add the ability to download a communication app for those who need that it would be an amazing product. A lot of these individuals have tablets for communication but they don't normally have phone calling capabilities, if they were to need them.
Lmao Naomi literally dropped that shes on a bunch of disability related boards, the moment she said that they were hooked.

I think Russian innovation really hit a stand still after the AK.
Infamous Justice aside from the Russian Soyuz rockets and capsules that have been NASAs go-to for the past 40 years?
good kisser Are you dumb? nasa has only been using soyuz rockets since 2011 and that came to an end recently because spacex made their own capsule and launched it to space. Soyuz is a good innovation but 40 years is wrong.

This would be great for younger children as a first phone because they are cheaper and probably wouldn’t have to worry as much with them breaking and don’t have access to the internet.
you dont have to worry about their brains rotting and spoiling over media saturation, propaganda programming, and the occasional sensual advertisement content.
Binge Planet yessir
Buuuut, you will have to worry about the bullying they will have in school because of the phone pretty much looking like a toy. Something a little girl would play with, even the sound of the ringing sounds like it. It stands out waaay to much, and not in a good way. Great idea, my grandparents can't use smart phones. This makes it so much simpler.
Button phones are still a thing you know... and you can have speed dials in there as well.
@@hittingyouoverthehead Some older folk would have trouble remembering which button speed dials which person, also some people have disablities to the point that they physically would struggle to type in a phone number. Makes it so much simpler having the persons name on a button, ease of access to call anyone in the family is a must for grandparents who struggle with day to day activities.
@@MegaChris456 Yeah that's true.
I think maybe this product can also be used by specially abled children especially the blind once in case of an emergency or for keeping in contact with their gaurdians.
Is Andrew just officially recapping the offers every time now?
I would use this product for Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. Definitely a health care product for those patients. Add a timer and a beeping sound for reminder to take medication.
If they were in the U.S., I’d buy a couple of their devices for my grandmas right now!
Guys, sell your product to companies, sometimes a foreman wants to talk to a forklift driver in the yard, and a minute later needs to talk to a fabricator in the factory, a radio chatter is distracting, we usually need to talk with 4 people a day, a phone acting like a radio with a speed dial option would be awesome

Watching this show after watching the UK version is a bit of a cultural shock.
The sharks are friendly in stead of complete a-holes and the business owners seem to be on another level as well.
same is what i heard for us version as well.
OMG. In Finland alone I know of dozens of startups that've done this before and failed, miserably. Elderly don't want dumb phones; they want mid-range phones. Minimum: good screen, camera (front and back), and chat, and a few more. But all easily to do with another skin. They sell tech that's about 20 years old, and somehow managed to pull that of. There's hope for everyone

A comapny called Lively, now owned by Best Buy, has been making Jitterbug cell phones for years. These were similar 1 button and 3 button flip phones with no keypad and a regular flip phone with simple menus and large buttons. This was as far back as 2006 i believe. For sure 2008. They have since dropped the 3 button phones, as they didn't sell well with flip phone and simple android options along with a smart watch and emergency paging system similar to Life Alert. Might be why this wouldn't work out as well here in the US. Lively was doing this in like 2008 if not before( 3 button flip phones and simple flip phones for senior citizens) This is probably why this wouldn't go over here in the US...hell my grandmother uses a regular android and shes also a quadriplegic...so most probably get by with that
This should be here in America for our senior citizens.

I think I would've added like a tracking system for the phone. That way you know where the person is .I mean if its for older people, wouldn't you want to know where they are so if any thing happens your ability to send help is easier?

This is a very temporary business, after babyboomers are gone, the business is gone. Kids grow up with technology these days, won't be a problem later on.
Disabilities will always be present however.
Sloof Sloof but if you already understand how to navigate and properly use a smartphone, you can adapt the interface and screen for your disability. And chances are, if you grew up with technology, you’ll know how to use voice command as well. There are a million ways to accommodate people with disabilities with technology, it’s the combination of age with disability that is problematic right now. Once the understanding of the tech is there, you’ll much prefer other options than this.
Very well put 🙌🏼
Many or even most businesses are temporary but can still make good money while it lasts. Smartphones have only been out for under 2 decades, that leaves a lot of the population that didn't grow up with them. Age-related disability aren't going anywhere either. 30 years from now the smartphone form factor will likely be obsolete anyhow.
Hahaha, very temporary. You have no idea. We're talking everyone over 50 minimum, so that's at least 30 to 40 years. Very temporary, multi national companies have boomed and then gone bust in less time than that.
