They get hella money why wouldn’t they
It’s not for our sake it’s because they get a ton of money
Gotta love how the Sharks hold it against him that he’s a real entrepreneur with multiple businesses just like them.
to be fair he had a terrible set up with 2 buissnesses which he could have easily put in as one buisness first develope one the add the secon or in that case if you traget countrys with skiing you could make a killing in that time combine godd stylish winter head wear and glasses slap on sustainable bang there you go
But he is trying to make one bussines grow from basically from 0, it is very different than being a partner of an already established bussines or an investor. When a investor pts his money it is more on the person than on the bussines, so if the person may not be fully there to make it work a growing bussines will certanly fail and their money lost.
They're investors. Investors often have a portfolio of what businesses they are investing in. They provide capital, and in this case, connections. They do not operate the business. Entrepreneurs are the business owners, who drive the business. Investors are expected to have a portfolio. Entrepreneurs with split focus are a natural risk for investors.
They are investors, they’re making sure they’re getting their money’s worth.
@@AmokBR and? If they can have multiple businesses why can’t he? As an investor that would never be a reason not to invest. In fact, it would be a reason to invest if his companies are doing well and I can make them do even better
He won me at "My name is Jeff."
Niaomi: "I love your buisness model and for that reason im going to offer $10,000 for 99.9999% of your buisness."
Yes but they still get 0.0001% of the business :-)

I liked this episode. The product was nice and ethical. The guy was soothing af.And the offer the guy shark made was also brilliant in every manner for both the parties.

Yeah the amount they bring to the table is huge
exactly. I also found Guy's Wisdom in the act, He had a plan and that was absolutely creating a win win situation. However I still believe they undervalued the business. Hope the Entrepreneur becomes really successful through this line of business
Agreed. Just felt right.
I would like to know how this business is doing after sharks investment that would make a good video
“Would you consider incorporating both businesses?”
“Yes I would consider”
“I’m out”
Yes, that was weird. I'd like to have seen what was cut out of this, maybe the full episode is here on YT.
Ms Starlight they’re cut together like this on the real show too
it's too complex for the show, he would have to go do another pitch
@@zaydevans2077 I didn't know that, I've not really seen a lot of full episodes. Thanks for replying. ☺👍
She wanted to be out as usual and didn’t expect him to say yes lmao
Why do these guys think it’s fine for them to have 100 business’ but think this guy can’t have 2
Exactly
Diarmaid O'Riordan shouldn’t ask him to be a PARTNER then if they just wanna be investors
cause they are patronizing schmucks
That's precisely what I thought.
Because they're investors, the guy pitching is expected to run the company still, so if hes running both his focus is split.
I loved the guy attitude..he stayed cool and confident..and I loved how he is committing to good causes.
Shark Logic 101: No! You are not allowed to have two profitable businesses... Unless I am allowed to invest in both of them!
The sharks can't tell the person what they're allowed to do, they can only tell them how what they do affects their confidence in getting a return on investment. If the entrepreneur can't gain their confidence, or doesn't want to, then he can always walk away with no penalty (plus the publicity)
Asking for 51% is a way to insure that someone does NOT give it their all
But it's also a way to make sure the company performs well... if he doesn'tdo his job she can employ someoneelse

thank you for the kind words!
He hits both sides of the Spectrum, Summer sales and Winter sales, Richard Branson has had no trouble in running multiple Companies!!!
for some reason I really liked this dude. Such a peaceful soul.
The first few seconds of the vid: my "name is Jeff"
Me: Give this guys what he wants
He did get the offer from Naomi and John however they parted ways mutually as they we sharks were not interested in the sustainable aspect of this product. He spoke about it on an interview with StarterStory.
That's bloody clever, winter clothing and in the spring summer autumn sun glasses ethically produced, its fantastic
Naomi: I will rob you or “I’m out”
😂😂😂😂
Glen really felt for that guy and saved him from a majority share from Naomi
John McGrath?
I hope these entrepreneurs know that a majority share means she could just sell the company without asking.
He really did I noticed this too... Gave him a way better deal
sharks: oh you cant run more than one business.
me thinking; yall have hundreds of businesses between you, what are you on about?
They are investors not the people actually running every single thing in the business. Learn the difference
They just giving u a model to start the business. That guy running the business but not them. They took the risk if the business not running well.
I think most of the sharks were disgusted at Naomi's offer, they couldn't save Jeff as they declared themselves out. The only person that could of saved Jeff was John McGrath and he showed Naomi how to create a win-win situation which made all parties happy (including himself). Ballsy of John to invest to teach Naomi a lesson
It was an opening bid. He was free to negotiate it down.
Why would the other sharks not be able to say anything? There's no rules here
Sharks hate when someone has more than one business. But they have a bajillion. I can see slight concerns. But it shouldn't be a deal breaker. Especially when this guy pulled his top product because of concerns about the sustainability. You know he's committed.
That’s what I was thinking.
SO TRUE
They don't have a bajillion. There is a difference between being an investor of a business and owning it. You can invest in multiple businesses like them and in fact that's quite the best thing to do. But that's different from being the CEO of multiple businesses. Very very big difference. Particularly if you don't have a long time entrepreneur background like this guy.
Opposing season businesses suggests that Jeff's attention to each would be seasonal as well. The majority will always be with the business that needs it.
When it's winter in North America it's summer in Australia and when it's winter in Australia it's summer in North America so these businesses are both year round. 😂 I just hurt my brain.
Canadians are the nicest people on earth and this guy is a prime example. And they know what they are good at and also know how to make best of it.

It’s fine for Sharks to diversify and “split their energy and time” but not the business owners, if anything it’s a positive that he has a successful cash cow and one that he is passionate about
It's a positive for him, but not a positive for the investor. Assume that each business is different, and will create a different amount of value for the same amount of effort spent by the entrepreneur. If the sharks invest in the weaker business, there is no way for the entrepreneur's interest and the shark's interest to be aligned, in terms of where he spend his limited effort.
This guy is a cool humble caring not every day guy. Love him you can see he means good for us all.
I LOVED THIS ONE!!!! FINALLY THESE SHARKS GOT IN!!!! I just love how good of a deal they made for this guy 😄😄

For sun glasses? Ooohhh! That's bloody cheap.
I loved the sunglasses 🕶 !!!!!!!!!
I love sunglasses in general and this is something I have to have !!!!
Ugh I want a pair. I love this guy. I love this business.

Really like the guys attitude and he donates. Hope all is good with him.
He really should be glad that the luxottica thing didnt work out. As an optician myself I'm always amazed when people tell me abpute their "high quality ray-ban frames" (made by luxottica) which are actually the cheapest of the cheap which you can find quality wise. Their whole product range is cheap product even those with big names like burberry, gucci etc. It's really a shame since old Ray-Ban frames really were made quite nice. I recently got my own pair of grown sunglasses and gotta admit, they are quite nice, I switched the lenses bc they just weren't really my thing, but the build quality is great.
I'd fear the brand would have had to sacrifice a lot of quality to get into business with luxottica, so good on him!
dude looked at the camera and smiled before answering the sharks. top marks
Janine is a shark alright. She was like: can I have the other one too
I'm gonna find this brand and use them. Good on you Jeff. Love from india

RayBan is a Luxotica brand. You should do some research on that company before you give them money. Pretty sure there's a documentary on them on RUclips
Utube Allday why? i’d love to have a pair
In China they cost 5$
“I love Byron bay” camera pans to a girl in a thong. Lol
For the life of me, I can't understand why he has two separate companies...winter head wear and sunglasses are both categorized as ACCESSORIES. Regardless, he did get a deal, so congratulations!
I think (though not sure) is that it's more tax efficient this way.
It’s also a risk thing. If company A takes a dive, company B has no stake in it and vice versa. Idk about the bankruptcy laws in Australia but at least in the US, it’s a decent idea.
I think the wood glass company, shares large chunk of the porfit with NGOs, and also represent every product as environment friendly, which must not be the case with the other company.
Why do they say he’s conflicted? How many businesses do THEY run? And they’re worried about two?
They are investors. It's different.

Something sensible and interesting after a long time on Shark Tank. Really a great deal struck by both. Keep it up!
I wish I had bought every pair that came to the USA! And I could have marked them up 30-40% and made plenty to retire! I bought the first pair last summer and went to the Snow White sand beaches of Panama City fla! I got complimented over a thousand times!

That's an extremely good price for quality, sustainably sourced sunglasses.
That’s basically the same price as the competition in surf shops - arnette, dragon, electric, Oakley, all start at about $120 and go to $200 or so or more.
Or are you just cheap and buy rubbish sunglasses??
I’m from Canada 🇨🇦 to just like Jeff and I have a pair of his sunglasses they do look good and they work really good to
His smile right before he said deal 🙂
I had a pair but they broke sadly
Great Canadian I love my Canadian people.
The sharks are greedy. They want the entrepreneur to put in 110 percent and they put 1% of their time and reap the rewards.
They fund the business, the business owner is rewarded with connections, being able to grow the business with more sustainability, and have guidance, the investors don't want to lose money, so they will help make it work when they can.
They're not a charity, they're in it to make money, so is the business owner, it's mutual.
If they tried to steel equity, that would be a different story.
@@IHasTM87 Sometimes it seems like they're taking advantage of people by buying majority of a business that's already been established while knowing that its already going to grow in profit exponentially.
Seriously. I feel like a lot of these founders could reject their ridiculous offer. Being in the show is enough to generate other investors who watch the show and the founders can easily get angel investors outside of show who have more connections.
They give u model of 80K to run the business. What if the business not running so well? Who took the risk? What if the business broke? Might think as well too..
I love this guy ❤️
This was an impressive ST pitch and strategic counter proposal.
CLEARLY this guy knows how to balance the 2. He was able to start a second business and successfully make it take off, while making sure everything involved was sustainable! And they still look past that and look past him as not “being involved”. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 I would invest if I had the cash.
They are investors no the actual entrepreneurs of the different companies, learn the difference before talking shit plz
"I love your product and I would be your customer" is another way of saying "I am out."
She took a 31% drop and he didn't even have to bargain!
She went from a 60k non-guaranteed investment at 51% to a 20k investment with a 10k loan (at commercial interest rates) to 20% (or 18.3% if the brand ambassador comes on).
If you chop the amount of cash in, it's 20k for 17% on the original offer vs 20k for 20%/18.3% on the joint offer. It's not really a comedown.
They are fast at their calculations.. business after all
