I love the banter between kevin and barbara. I know it's mostly exaggerated for the camera but still fun to watch. They actually all have a mutual respect for each other and just like to joke around like friends.
Man I love Kevin. People see him as a bad guy, well yeah he wants to make his money back but the amount of times he’s lowered his offer to make sharks lower his, he’s helped out so many people. Gotta love Mr. Wonderful

Some rich people will act like they do what they do in the name of a cause or a passion but he is at least honest, all he ever says is that he’s all about the money. It’s a low bar, I don’t like the man but I respect him for not pretending to be something he isn’t, like all of the other people on the show do.
I like how he operates on the show but I don't really respect how, after previously saying that crypto was garbage, he turned around and took FTX's money and promoted their platform.

The price is outrageous. Like, you can build the same size structure that is better and could even match your house for a lot less then their crazy costs. And that will look a lot better then a shipping container sitting in your backyard.
The issue here is
1. Time. How often do we buy things because it's convenient and save us time?
2. Permits. What you can and cannot build on your property due to city ordinance. Very blurred fine line there.
3. Knowledge. Not everyone knows how to do this stuff themselves.
It's a smart idea and if I had the money I would do this. My brother moved in with me and he's loud and being self employed I'm home. So having that extra little space without breaking HOA...I'd do it.
Right? I was thinking this could be cool for like $1k... not $20k!?!

Unfortunately, 1 month after this episode aired during further business dealings they failed to come to an agreement and Barbara backed out of the deal 😢. The company today is worth 12 million

@@doubted2soon279 Most of the time it is entrepreneurs not holding their end of the deal. Some people just want the exposure and not wanna give any equity. And it looks better in camera if you take a deal. So they just take one and dip.
My first thought after I heard the words “sound proof” and before hearing the monthly payment, was what a fantastic idea this could be for a person who plays a musical instrument, such as drums, to be able to play/practice without disturbing the household and neighborhood. But at a cost of $800.00 a month, I unfortunately will have to bow out.

$20,000 for half a shipping container. You could just spend that on an additional room/extension to your house and increase its value.
But if you rent a property with a yard, this is a decent option.
Thats assuming you can get the permits
have the time and patience for a construction project at your home etc

Oh my god! Shark Tank actually revealed that Kevin's Canadian. I thought they were keeping it a secret that Kevin and Robert are Canadian.
I thought the same thing! And notice Kevin said nothing! I have wondered if the producers have told them to not mention it? It's too bad...they both got their start on Dragons Den Canada and Kevin was even considering running for Prime Minister years back. Robert seems to embrace it more, he returned to his DD roots last season and often mentions how his family emigrated to Canada. Come on Mr Wonderful, Canada loves you, show some love and be a proud Canuck!

It’s clear Barbara has more experience in this domain, and I assume they did their research ahead of time and knew which sharks they would prefer a deal with.

I work for a city Planning Zoning dept. You can call it a "tool shed" but as soon as your neighbor sees you doing yoga or working from it, code enforcement will be on your @$$ so quickly.
Also an 80SF addition can be approx $30k. This box is weird.
It needs 1 20 amp non-GFCI outlet. With the LED lights, receptacles for whatever you plug in, the the unit for temperature control, Im curious how these actually work out.

It's a tv show, not a boardroom. When the lawyers start going through the paperwork things usually fall apart. Entrepreneurs aren't always truthful when on camera and it comes out during due diligence

The thing with this show is that 90% of the deals dont go through after the happy hugs on stage and the 10% will be negociated beyond closed doors to come out completely different, in that regards the show is mostly sn infomercial, ppl just come in to promote their businesses for free on national TV .

I've seen alot of boxes like this used during election season in my country. They plant it in a very public space where voters can go and talk to different political party representatives.
