I absolutely love watching and listening to EES play the drums. He has mastered his craft so well that he makes the most difficult things look effortless and he's absolutely digging it during the process! This cover was proof positive that you can't possibly have too much cowbell. This is what the drums were meant to be and EES is an inspiration to all!
he's a guy you dont want to copy you want to get things from his playing and things from other players and put it all together to develop your sound and style.

I was looking at the drum key wondering why he left it there thinking it might get in the way. Then he does a gravity blast on the cowbell using the drum key for the easier angle. his setup is so intentional and unconventional. I love watching his drumming.
I actually worked with the main guitarist who recorded the original song for C&C Music Factory in NYC at Michael Case Kissel's studio. I was probably just 14 years old at the time, a young kid. But I have to say this: I've worked with some elite drummers, truly exceptional human talents, but this guy is something else. He's just amazing
That is some crazy, creative drumming. What a musical vision. I had never heard of him before this reaction so this was a particular treat. Great break down and analysis on your part Jeff. Loved this reaction.
His cover of "Blinding Lights" got me emotional. I'm not a fan of the weekend at all but he gave that song a completely different feeling thru percussion and that's pretty damn impressive in my eyes 🤘💪👍
Hi, reading through the comments and I'm surprised to see that no one has pointed out that in the original song they used two drummers on two kits, and Estepario does it all and waaay more on just one kit, amazing skills! Great vid too, thanks!
I've seen Buddy and a bunch of the other great drummers live too - Peart, Appice, Palmer, Bobby Colomby, and many others. Saw Buddy countless times. Buddy was never one to give compliments about other drummers ... but I'm wondering what he'd say about this guy ? I was offend speechless for days after seeing a Buddy Rich extended solos in West Side Story or Channel One Suite and now this guy .... well, I just don't know what to say ! Never saw the interviews with him on his background, etc but have to search for them.
He creates drum parts that combines what 2-3 percussionists would normally be required to play. If you listened to him without watching you would never believe there is only one guy playing. Never seen or heard anything like. He has taken what is humanly possible to the next level.
Like I said some time ago - you are an absolute natural at your newly established "reacter gig" because, imo, you are just being you (possessing a ton of musical knowledge/experience doesn't hurt either). So many other reacters have difficulty being themselves and just being truly genuine. I'm digging your reaction choices too. I'll catch up to everything you've posted at some point so keep 'em coming.
Mind blowing. The thing (IMHO) that sets him apart from virtuoso drummers in every genre is not just his technique but he is musical, a joy to listen to.
As a drummer/percussionist, flutist and vocalist. ( yeah, music major). What I like and appreciate so much is his “musicality”. His composition, phrasing and laser sharp back beat. Always there no matter whatever else he is doing (which is a LOT), that beat, that beat is aways there. You might say that he never misses a beat. Well??!!!! No he doesn’t. And above all, a drummers job is…………..yes keep the beat, timing. And with expression.
I've watched your reaction to this 5 times already, 3 times by myself, once with my wife and once with my daughter. Amazing reaction and as someone who didn't know much about drums you're break down of his performance helped me understand the performance much better than normally would have. I hope you'll react to his new "Blinding Lights" video next, and more El Estapario content in general.
Love your tutorial on this awesome drummer you are spot on my friend. I am a new subscriber big thumbs up and I wish you millions of hits on your channel... I doubt very much that any of his critics can mimic any of his genius work. Envy for most is not a nice trait to have...
Exactly!!! And it is just INCREDIBLE, was he is capable of doing and with such seemingly ease !!!!🤯🤯🤯😵🤯🤯🤯😵🤯🤯🤯😵🫠😅😅 It is just wild beyond imagination and yes - he is brilliant!!!🔥🔥🔥And determined, persistent, hard practicing …. what a road he was on!🥺🔥 Great great reaction, Jeff - thank you!😃🤗
4:48; Anyone who says those things has no clue just how insanely difficult it is to do what he does with such precision. For those who make these sorts of comments I would say; Sure! Ok... Great! So then in that case, now you do it. Oh, and BTW, make sure you do it on a 3 piece kit.............. We're waiting........... Yeah, that's what I thought punk. He does a couple of videos that are an absolute masterclass on polyrhythms. He makes it look sooooo easy! The thing I think people don't take into account is the extreme coordination it takes to pull off 4 different time signatures (one for each limb) at the same time! When you have guys like Mike Portnoy describing Siberiano as "a once in a generation phenomenon", you can bet he's probably a pretty solid player. Now the question is; (A) Do I just admit defeat and quit, or (B) Do I spend every waking second practicing and hope to become even 1/10th the drummer he is some day?
I'm also a drummer and yes this man's level of ability to do things that have never been done before is absolutely mind-boggling and I'm sure he has watched some other guys like Thomas Lang and the like picking up things here and there but this guy is in a class all by himself and he's only 26!!!!!,... oh my goodness,... Buddy Rich,... I saw him play when he was an old man and he was huffin and puffin,... This guy still got lots of steam and lots of years to do who knows what🎉🎉🎉🎉
I seen this a few times but your reaction was very similar to how I watched it too. I've been following this guy for about 3 years. I'm convinced he's the best on the planet. I've been playing for year's and seen very many comparisons but this guy is totally insane.
So glad you reacted to this song. You know what the crazy part is ? He has so much more headroom that he never taps into. I think the next song you should react to by Mr Siberiano is " The Bongo Song " . I can't think of original band, but they had 2 drummers. El Estepario Soberiano does both seamlessly. It's amazing Great reaction. Thank you my friend
This guy isn't human. Interesting how he had his cow bells sitting on top of his snare and floor Tom. I'm going to go subscribe to his channel immediately. Thanks for introducing me to him Jeff.
So that one handed roll, it’s a gravity blast and normally you use the rim of the snare as a fulcrum. But since he wanted to do it on the cowbell, he left his drum key on his snare and used that as the fulcrum 😂 dude is insane!
I just came across you for the first time while watching El Estapario Siberiano videos, and you have great reaction and break down philosophies. I really enjoyed your reaction as all of us in this country and around the world can't get enough of El Estapario. This guy is beyond amazing and I as well as many others throughly enjoyed your reation to him. I too will be watching more of your reactions from now on. Thanks Jeff.
I love, LOVE watching these reaction vids from different folks on YT. You just know they're going to be blown away, and wish they had been listening to this quality of music all along. I especially enjoy watching 1st time RUSH reactions, and if it's Tom Sawyer or Xanadu or The Camera Eye, etc., it tends to make their mouths hang open when they really listen to it & hear it. The lyrics help too. Or try Jacob's Ladder, which is a song about a thunder storm, with life lessons, as usual. SCIENCE! too. :o)
I'm a drummer, too, and I totally agree with all you guys and can see the amazing skills of Esteban. Simply impressive. I just wouldn't wanne be someone who has to cope with him in the context of "real" music. There has never been a point (except for very few people) to be the "fastest" musician ever. But to see it as a gimmick on RUclips is great fun. I totally adore his abilities, his chops and his endless effort to get more and more perfect and fast. "Musicality" to me is about letting go of everything that's "not" needed. Instead of playing as many notes as possible
You're so right...what he's doing is maximum artistry. I played drums for years in the 60s and 70s and believe me, what he is doing is absolutely off the charts amazing...so, so clean. Nevertheless, if I could only listen to one drummer it would probably be Sonny Emory....not as flashy as El Español, but an exceptionally cool drummer.
So glad with your comment. It is exactly what I see and hear watching him. He destroys the orignial and put his mark on him that will forever be the benchmark. For me it is similar to the guitar players that I could not follow, like Yngwie Malmsteen flying always on the notes.
I genuinely recommend you checkout Slip - Shubh Saran the live in Boston version. To entice you even more there is a 4/20 metric modulation in the song!
The only thing more entertaining than watching El Estepario videos is watching reaction videos from professional drummers, musicians and music industry folks. Most of them basically fall out of their seat which is what I do every time a new video comes out. It’s just sad to think someday we may lose the amazement because we get so used to his incredible talent!
The best thing about all these amazing musicians is that they're obviously just having so much *fun* doing what they do. At least in presentation, there's no forcing anything, it's natural and relaxed which makes the unique aspects of their playing come much easier.
People might argue that he has no pocket. I think he does. But the main thing is that he's having fun, and it's entertaining! This isn't a recording for an album. This is for us to look at and listen to and have a bit of a laugh. And that he's able to do all of this with just a kick, snare and a floor tom is absolutely insane. I enjoy this! And so should everybody else!
His drumming is so mesmerizing to me I dig watching him play. I watch him all the time it looks so beautiful to me. He's a real humble kid i like him a lot as you can tell . Thanks for the vid I wanted to know what pros think of his drumming
The dude is badass I dont care what anyone says. He hits 4 times to anyones 1 time. He is putting a new and fresh way of playing drums and he is playing every song he plays his own personal way. And if people cant appreciate or understand that or if they feel offended by his talent they shouldn't watch him do his thing. Two thumbs up for his amazing talent.
I'm not a drummer, but I am in awe of this man. I try to understand what he is doing and your commentaries really do help. I still don't understand everything you're talking about, but at least I get a little understanding of what's happening. Thank you for your reaction.(I also love the cowbells)
I'm glad the comments from the ones who "do not get it" had been met in the video. I too am a drummer in fact with a new kit on delivery at this time. More is better right? El Estepario Siberiano makes very impossible things look so easy. He does this for many to benefit from. Not to mention the second million subscribers in 30 days I believe. He also does not get paid as many believe. These are covers he cannot monetize. I believe much appreciation and respect be served graciously to Mr. El Estepario Siberiano. Let us not forget the clarity of this reaction video. peace
Man, this is one of the best reaction videos to Estepario's that I've watched. You've put into words quite what I feel when I watch his videos or even his shorts which I think are art. Keep it up!
Just the fact that he has mastered the "Dualist" pedal just on his own says alot. I have one along with a DW double kick pedal and let me assure you it's no easy task. Just setting that pedal up takes a master of the feel and tension of the thing. And those that think that pedal is "cheating" is sadly mistaken. It's just another tool to take you to another level in your skill. This guy is the BOMB. There are great drummers and different styles but this dude is a technician....
I’m an audio engineer and I ran out of people to show Estapario to. So now I watch reactions of others. Thank you for a perfect reaction to his talent and intent. Super awesome video. ❤
If you have those chops, you play them. Anyone can lay down a simple groove. Even I can! But I can't come close to his insane ability. A super rare commodity.
He put some time in on his performances he's the real enthusiasts acoustics performer bar none I would be right in saying he's giving a delightful collaboration I will 4emrmber for years and he's around 26 years old and half or more playing drums for us !
Really appreciate your commentary after the video. Very well said my friend. I doubt the naysayers will be appeased though. Envy of another's talent often runs the deepest. I'm just glad someone finally put into words what several of us were thinking , but not sure how to articulate it as well as you just did concerning what this man is actually accomplishing with these songs. One final quick thought, I believe this man has achieved a level that even those of us that play instruments of whatever type can't truly understand the depth of the talent he has. Some can't understand it because he's playing at a level that's not seen maybe once in a lifetime if ones lucky. Keep doing what you do , enjoy the channel.
Thanks for actually giving a reaction. Not being a drummer, I don't really understand what I'm listening to. The things you pointed out helped me become a better listener.
Also,he plays so effortlessly with either hand and makes it look easy even one handed and while smoking or drinking. Never ever have I seen anyone do that anywhere. Two more thumbs up for this guy.
IMHO this is the best ever performance playing drums in the whole music history so far, bar none. The level of precision, technique, crispiness, musicality, independence, mastercraft, speed, art and sound it is unmatched. And I find it even better than his performances of Blinding Lights, Take on me or even The Bongo Song which is playable by 2 drummers and he does it solo. This thing is fucking unbelievable.
I very much love the way you appear so enthusiastic, even though you've heard so much, and your experience is big. Still, after that, your eyes are wide open while listening to what this guy is doing.
I can appreciate differing opinions- otherwise, there'd be little reason to come to the comments section. I thought a tiny handful of his vids were mildly over the top but your point of what can be humanely possible is well received and a great point. Truly excellent reaction vid. El Estepario's total logged hours to the craft are as unmatched as his talent.
This is one of the most talented and nicest guys you could ever want to meet. Very humble and practices like an animal. Jealousy is not becoming, he is an impresario, his creations are masterful.
Agreed, I think more than anything is that he brings big time creativity. It is fun to watch him inject another level to these songs...AND IT NOT ONLY JUST ROCK!!! He is purely a BEAST, he is awaesome.
I'm not a drummer but a keys player. I love to watch this drummer though. From the first time I saw him on YT I got what he was doing. It's simply amazing. The guy is also so down to earth and funny. Great guy.
ih jeff! i've always watched as many EES reaction vids as i could find and this peaks as my favourite - your energy and vibe is as cool and infectious as EES's - awesome video, thank you! ☮+❤
There are some mind boggling drummers out there, but I have yet to see anything this technical, this musical, this level of precision, this creativity, and this confident.
THIS GUY is astonishing!!! I'm not shooting from the hip here, I started taking drum instruction from a LEGENDARY drum instructor whose pupils went onto spawn their own cadre of famous drummers in their own right at the age of six🤓 When I see Thomss Lang, Vinnie Coluata, or Marco Minnemann play something challenging, I think to myself, "Given enough rehearsal and disassembly, I could play that"... But THIS GUY😂
I’m a drummer and it’s frustrating when I see negative comments from other musicians/drummers who can’t seem to just appreciate the amount of time and patience it takes to reach this level of playing.
👏👏👏
My thought. I think some do it on purpose just so people can check them out also. This man is GOOD!

Scott, you totally made my day. Thank you so much, brother!
👍🏼❤️💚🌱🤗.
Exactly!!! And it is just INCREDIBLE, was he is capable of doing and with such seemingly ease !!!!🤯🤯🤯😵🤯🤯🤯😵🤯🤯🤯😵🫠😅😅 It is just wild beyond imagination and yes - he is brilliant!!!🔥🔥🔥And determined, persistent, hard practicing …. what a road he was on!🥺🔥 Great great reaction, Jeff - thank you!😃🤗
Happy Birthday, Lise! 🥳🎂🎉🎊🎁
@@StrateleStudiosThank you, Jeff!😃❤️🇩🇰🥰🫶🏼🫶🏼🤗
He's just showing off!!! It's fantastic! I can't get enough of how playing! He's having a blast!!!
This guy still got lots of steam and lots of years to do who knows what🎉🎉🎉🎉
Never seen anything like him in my life and I'm absolutely stunned how well he keeps tempo absolutely unbelievable
The cowbell gravity blasts using the tuning key!!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
@@The_Gary_Douglas indeed. It is so darn technically creative
You need to see him play songs one handed! Phenomenal! He also has a few songs that he plays on the hand pan as well!
I seen this a few times but your reaction was very similar to how I watched it too.
I've been following this guy for about 3 years. I'm convinced he's the best on the planet. I've been playing for year's and seen very many comparisons but this guy is totally insane.
He has just kicked all doors down on what’s possible!
I think you just hit the nail on the head, this guy makes you feel good to see him play and listen to him, he transmits an incredible positive energy.
So glad you reacted to this song. You know what the crazy part is ? He has so much more headroom that he never taps into.
I think the next song you should react to by Mr Siberiano is
" The Bongo Song " .
I can't think of original band, but they had 2 drummers. El Estepario Soberiano does both seamlessly.
It's amazing
Great reaction.
Thank you my friend
This guy isn't human. Interesting how he had his cow bells sitting on top of his snare and floor Tom. I'm going to go subscribe to his channel immediately. Thanks for introducing me to him Jeff.
So glad you enjoyed it Scott! This guy is absolutely amazing!
You're about to go down the rabbit hole, that is his channel. I've watched every video he's made countless times.
So that one handed roll, it’s a gravity blast and normally you use the rim of the snare as a fulcrum. But since he wanted to do it on the cowbell, he left his drum key on his snare and used that as the fulcrum 😂 dude is insane!
🤯
Love him ! Is he human ?? So talented and entertaining. A joy to watch 🔥
Ah man, thank you so much Karl!
You deserve it.
As a use to be drummer, this absolutely mind blowing. So out of the box thinking and technique. The mans a human drum machine.
I'm as old as you and these drummers I'm discovering make me say "Never Say Die" and I push myself even harder now... Great work.
You're so right...what he's doing is maximum artistry. I played drums for years in the 60s and 70s and believe me, what he is doing is absolutely off the charts amazing...so, so clean. Nevertheless, if I could only listen to one drummer it would probably be Sonny Emory....not as flashy as El Español, but an exceptionally cool drummer.
his playing is so uniform and smooth, hes a treat to listen to, its like poetry in motion
So glad with your comment. It is exactly what I see and hear watching him. He destroys the orignial and put his mark on him that will forever be the benchmark. For me it is similar to the guitar players that I could not follow, like Yngwie Malmsteen flying always on the notes.
The man is a genius, plain and simple. His technique is awesome and he makes it look easy, that’s how incredibly talented he is.
I genuinely recommend you checkout Slip - Shubh Saran the live in Boston version. To entice you even more there is a 4/20 metric modulation in the song!
The only thing more entertaining than watching El Estepario videos is watching reaction videos from professional drummers,
musicians and music industry folks. Most of them basically fall out of their seat which is what I do every time a new video comes out. It’s just sad to think someday we may lose the amazement because we get so used to his incredible talent!
The best thing about all these amazing musicians is that they're obviously just having so much *fun* doing what they do. At least in presentation, there's no forcing anything, it's natural and relaxed which makes the unique aspects of their playing come much easier.
when a drummer makes it look effortless, he has put in the work
Having the drum key there as a pivot so he can gravity blast the cowbell is iq 10000
I've watched this video maybe 10 different times from other reactors and never noticed that. And I've been drumming over 40 years. Lol
Notice he knocked it off at the end. Accident? We may never know
Well spotted!
How many drummers were playing...LOL? uber astounding!!!
🤣
He is unbelievable, I think he is pretty unique! A joy to watch. Great work.
This dude is beyond NEXT LEVEL!!!!! That's what people are missing.
And so should everybody else!
he definitely has a pocket those that say he doesnt cant find it.
Fr, but also he has cargo pants. He has the biggest of pockets.
@@freethinker_unchained he has it in spades.
Love Estepario’s comment about how much his playing ability is about hard work and commitment to practicing versus just talent.
He is always colorfully in the pocket! An amazing talent! Another world!!
Let us not forget the clarity of this reaction video. peace
Did you notice that he hold sticks different way as drummers usually! HE IS out this world!!!
To which of his four hands are you referring? 🤣
I truly think that he has fore hands!😀@@StrateleStudios
The madness is real. The dude is wild beyond belief and it's always fun to watch another musician appreciate his talent.
That one handed roll on the cowbell is actually a gravity blast using the drum key to make it work. Crazy creative to make that trick up!
Man, this is one of the best reaction videos to Estepario's that I've watched. You've put into words quite what I feel when I watch his videos or even his shorts which I think are art. Keep it up!
Yeah, "it feels good". Great appreciation of a great creator and technician. Thanks..
👏👏👏
Thank you Johnny, you are so welcome on this channel!
He is WOOW. And his drumming immidiately reminded me of Chicago´s > I´m a man < Big smile and a hug from `mini Solvang / Denmark. 🥰🥰. Lene/🇩🇰
If you have those chops, you play them. Anyone can lay down a simple groove. Even I can! But I can't come close to his insane ability. A super rare commodity.
He put some time in on his performances he's the real enthusiasts acoustics performer bar none I would be right in saying he's giving a delightful collaboration
I will 4emrmber for years and he's around 26 years old and half or more playing drums for us !
He always puts a huge smile on my face every time! 😄 Thanks for all of your reactions, I appreciate them very much.
Thank you so much, Jeff! 😊🫶
Thank you so much, this is what I like to hear! 😊😊😊
Yes his drumming gives chills. Especially some of those rolls and fills.
Also,he plays so effortlessly with either hand and makes it look easy even one handed and while smoking or drinking. Never ever have I seen anyone do that anywhere. Two more thumbs up for this guy.
That's the best explanation of Siberiano's skills that I've heard so far; he shows the viewer what most of us believe wouldn't be Humanly possible.
Thanks Barry!
👏👏👏🫶
Great reaction Man!! The estepario is the best
Thanks my friend!
Great guy.
Exactly! And on top, while rolling drums, he smiles like he’s so amused😃🫨😅
He completely stuns me each time I see a new video 👍🏻👍🏻❤️
Me too bro. He’s insane!
ih jeff! i've always watched as many EES reaction vids as i could find and this peaks as my favourite - your energy and vibe is as cool and infectious as EES's - awesome video, thank you! ☮+❤
That's exactly the right amount of cowbell!! Amazing.
Am watching this with the biggest smile on my face. What a musician!
Worth checking out more of his stuff :)
There are some mind boggling drummers out there, but I have yet to see anything this technical, this musical, this level of precision, this creativity, and this confident.
The man can play to different beets with each foot seprate from each other. It is Amazing and it shows you dont need a huge set.
Sure, but you need demi god talent.
He is very humble and a beast at the same beat!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
THIS GUY is astonishing!!! I'm not shooting from the hip here, I started taking drum instruction from a LEGENDARY drum instructor whose pupils went onto spawn their own cadre of famous drummers in their own right at the age of six🤓
When I see Thomss Lang, Vinnie Coluata, or Marco Minnemann play something challenging, I think to myself, "Given enough rehearsal and disassembly, I could play that"...
But THIS GUY😂
