In Japan, a woman can walk around in the middle of the night and nothing will happen. An elementary school student can ride a train at midnight. Even in the most unsafe places in Japan, you will probably only be accosted by drunks. And dropped wallets are usually returned.

I agree with needing to earn at least 100k. Rent is at least $500 per WEEK for a small 1 bedroom apartment and there are not many of those in NZ. But lots of houses and units. Which cost more. Or you go flatting. auckland is the only big city with job opportunities and then there is Wellignton- terrible weather and Christchurch with around 300k residents. Rest of nz are small cities and towns under 50k people. And you need to drive, oublic transport is almoust inexistent

      I was almost raped.
Though I’m 100% Japanese, I look SouthAsian. I can’t count how many Japanese guys have suddenly touched my body on the street. A few of them have kicked my leg.
I used to live in America.
There are two big differences between the two countries.
One is, Japanese people think it’s embarrassed to be a victim.
Second is, Japanese people believe that their national characteristic is the best in the world.
There’s a Japanese girl who was raped in a dorm of American university. After she came back to Japan, she decided to go back to THE PLACE SHE WAS RAPED because she couldn’t stand being considered shame.
Many Japanese people get mad to hear that I have faced more crimes and “racism” in Japan than in America. Many of them say it must be my fault(Those Japanese people are very shy and polite to Westerners).
That’s why many Japanese people hide that they have been victims. That’s why Japanese OFFICIAL crime rate is low.

I've lived in the country for 2 years, and heard many stories of perverts going around flashing themselves, groping women, or stealing underwears, more than my three decades spent in Switzerland. This was a very informative video. However, I do wish that you had included in your assessment some measure of diversity or even attitudes towards diversity. Part of feeling safe in visiting or even living in a country is feeling comfortable. The way to assess this for many people is how the country feels about diversity. We are living in a global world as well as a diverse one, and it's not something that should be taken for granted or ignored because it is a factor for some folks especially as it relates to personal safety. So, if you do future videos on this, I hope you consider it.

Came from the States to Florence, Italy, in 2015, for college (in my 60s). Two years of school and I had to return to the States for 3 months. I was miserable, especially watching the hatred and anger being fed and boiling over with the orange clown in the White House. Moved here permanently in January, 2018, and became a dual citizen March, 2021. I am now a 70-year-old woman and I never felt safer in my home than now, plus I have no fear walking my small dog anywhere in Florence, day or night. Not to mention the history and FOOD. The icing on the cake is I found the most loving and wonderful friends I've ever had. Best decision I ever made.
