Best sounding most flexible spring ever made. Right up there with VCS3 spring in quality. I’m a total nerd about spring reverb too.. And i’m overjoyed! The envelope follower/gate really makes it great for subtle texture layering.

Yes indeed! I love this thing. I should make another video about it, I feel this one does not give it justice.

Oooo ! I wanted to hear a comparison between the Arp 200m and the light pedal. I just ordered the Light pedal today after listening to your video. Thanks !

Im going to use it with my grey Barp 2600. Its a good synth but the spring reverb is not great imo. Again thanks for this nice video .

I love the 2600 reverb for it's "boingness", perfect for percussive sounds but indeed the Light Pedal is another level of spring reverb.

The ability to move the sensor really sells this thing.

It's quite a crazy idea when you think about it. Anyway it's very unique.

Little talked about feature is the ability to use two modes at once as well. The first three ctrl modes are applied to the optical reverb. The final three are derived from modulating the physical spring. You can have one of each of those modes active at once. Select 1-3 and dial in your effect and expression settings then hold the stomp and move to one of the 4-6 positions and set it up. Game changer indeed

@@ModernDevotion Indeed, I know about it but I did not found it was very pleasing so far. I guess as I like to drive the spring quite hard it makes it a little bit too muddy when combining mode.

@@Stazma definitely seems better suited to light applications. I typically use feedback or plain optical mode

One question about the cheap 9V power supply that isn't included. What do professional players do with 10 stomp boxes on the stage and these cheap power supplies that can fall off of fail at any second? I mean you really need a thick wire pro grade clean power supply else you'll probably pick up noise and trash thru the supply line as sensitive as this is. Just wondering

I use a simple Palmer PTW08, it does the job well enough.

@@Stazma I looked that one up. Vintage for sure in a big metal box. Looks like you options are wet or dry per channel and that's it. Ebay still has some for sale too which cost about the same as a single Light Pedal except I had to buy two for my synth. Should be interesting using separate units per channel with either similar or different settings. The light show will be an added bonus with visual feedback showing the two channels being in or out of sync. Mainly for my Oberheim OB-X8m that offers automated panning options. I guess manufacturers don't think about synths and drum machines but it's kind of common sense these days but would have driven up the cost or wouldn't allow for double springs with independent controls so two is better anyway for my application. I bought both used so save money and they haven't arrived yet. A guitar player wouldn't care too much because you can't have 10 saved settings and cycle thru them using a foot switch. You have to set it and that's all you get I think. This makes more sense for tabletop use for synth players experimenting in real time.
