Steve Perry was known as “The Voice”. This is my absolute favorite song by Journey!!! Makes me cry every time. They have so so so many good songs!!! Just imagine, these guys performed without auto tune, without any piped in music. Just pure raw talent!!!

Steve Perry IMHO is the greatest vocalist of all time. He is a once in a lifetime singer. Now you have started down the journey rabbit hole you will want to go deeper and deeper!! You are correct Steve Perry’s voice is so mesmerizing and captivating. The way he delivers the raw emotions in every word is unlike any other. That is why even at 75 Steve Perry is still so loved by the fans and fans of all ages and all walks of life.

First of all, you two are adorable! Second, this is the amazing Steve Perry! He is called "The Voice" for a reason. There are many incredible songs from Journey. I recommend any song from the Escape Tour - Houston 1981. You don't just hear Steve Perry sing, you feel it!
Fun Fact - (I can never get this story right...lol...) Keyboardist Jonathan Cain ran into a friend of his, who was dating or married or was still friends with Jon's ex-girlfriend. He said as they were catching up, the ex-girlfriend's name came up. Jon asked about her, how she was doing and everything. And he ended the conversation with ...... 'Send Her My Love'! Jon said that when he said that he knew that would make a great song title and song!! Which it is!
Over the years, I have been so very grateful to have seen Journey for this 1983 'Frontiers' tour.
Journey played 3 sold out shows in Houston, Tx, which my best friend and I were at the last 2 shows!!! The GREATEST nights EVER!!!
I also saw Journey for their 1986 'Raised On Radio' tour also in Houston. And I saw Steve Perry's (lead singer) for his first and only 1994 solo tour in Ft. Worth, Tx.
A great song for you guys to react is (if you haven't already) 'Mother Father' from Journey 1981 'Escape' tour, in Houston, Tx. That song is what us Classic Journey fans call a 'Masterpiece'!! It's PERFECT in every way!!

ALL their songs! But check out the 70s stuff too when Steve joined the fresh outta Santana group of Neal Schon the guitarist with Gregg Rolie, the first lead singer. Wheel in the Sky, Feelin That Way/Anytime. And you have to check out Mother Father & Still They Ride...LIVE. And Don't Stop Believin was just named the greatest rock song of all time! Omg, love the legend, the GOAT, the VOICE Steve Perry!

That’s live too, no machines or backing tracts. His voice got a little scratchy later. Listen to “Why Can’t This Night Go on Forever” such a great band. Ballads, more rock, and some R&B.
