- EA and DICE have announced that they will be stopping all support and shutting down servers for both Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 1943.
I just can't help but feel sad about one of the most successful and most beloved video games out there are now going to be silent. All I can say now is just to enjoy every minute of it that you can.

While this isn't my favourite Battlefield it's still better than what came afterwards. Battlefield 2142, 2, Vietnam as well as 1942 are by far the best battlefields in my opinion, even if it's just because they didn't have 3D spotting, something i find shite to this day. Shame they're shutting all these games down, i wonder if there is going to be a revival project as the BF2 and 2142 community created for their favourite titles. If not, rest in peace.
I've had such a good time in these old titles, so many friendships formed, so many memories, it just doesn't compare to nowadays, maybe I've gotten too old to enjoy these new titles or they simply have no soul in them. They might look better, have fancy animations, better netcode and gunplay, but screw that, i'd give everything to storm a titan in BF2142, dominate the air in BF2 or curbstomp vietcong in BF:Vietnam with the old crowds i used to play and hang around with.
I'm sure some people have similar experiences with BF:BC2 and BF1943.

BC2 will always stay as my favorite Battlefield game, I was the Blackhawk pilot that would run circles around the objectives and minigun your whole team with my door gunners😊

I didn't know there was still servers for any of those BF versions. I stopped playing years ago but would have liked to have known servers were still available. As long as they aren't full of Bots ~!

Easily the best Battlefield, I put over 1000 hours into this back in the day. Pity the franchise has steadily become worse with every release since.
