Hey everyone! Thanks for watching my video! If you have any questions, comments or stories you want to share feel free to hit me up here or on Twitter. Happy to chat with ya'll whether you love it or hate it!
good review man! Nice to see some genuine thought and passion put into it, unlike those over at 'you know where ;) I'll just say it rhymes with epipen..
I'm really, really, really, really liking to see how much this game is being loved by the critics. First, because the guys at Larian Studios absolutely deserve the recognition. They are a bunch of great, passionate and creative game developers. Anyone who followed both Divinity Original Sin funding campaigns know this. But the point I'm trying to make here is: with this much recognition, maybe, MAYBE, other RPG developers will see that there is still room in the market for deep, complex and rewarding gameplay mechanics. A "true" RPG renaissance is what I'm hoping for.
Jonathan Régulo I hope so! There has been more and more CRPG's releasing recently. A lot from Obsidian. Games like Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny, Tides of Numera, DoS1 and DoS2, XCOM 2, and some kickass return of great JRPG's like Persona 5.
@Jared Lilley story trumps loot, but having good visuals, atmosphere, loot system, solid gameplay, and good dialogue are all important in this day and age.
I know this is years late but that's a great comment. Games like this are a work of art. I am so sick of "call of duty 10" and Fifa rubbish. I hope teams like Larian never go under. But I bet this game didn't sell as well as it deserved
This game has me by the balls. Walking into a field with a chest surrounded by talking heads on sticks arguing if I should open chest or not made me realize that this game is the true spiritual successor of Baldur's Game. The king is dead (Bioware), long live the king (Larian)!
I murdered the red prince in the forest then took his face, he was my first. Now im a serial killer who steals faces and im not even undead. I just like faces. Oh and im a dwarf named Oghren.
Not really. I played Xenogears for the first time only a few years ago and it completely blew me away, and the gameplay in that is relatively shallow. To say nothing of Persona 5, which I played recently and absolutely adored. It's like comparing apples and oranges. I have never understood the whole "JRPG vs CRPG" trope as I love both for what they are. However, DOS2 is certainly in the running for "best RPG I've ever played". Since I'm still playing it, and since I can't claim childhood or adolescent nostalgia for it, I'm not sure if it will reach that hallowed position. What I will say is I haven't felt this excited about and obsessed with an RPG since the first time I played Baldur's Gate II, and that is some _high_ praise.
kebin I love Baldur's Gate but Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI absolutely crush it. Being more tactically demanding doesn't automatically make a game better.
Divinity Original Sin 2 was great but I would have to give my RPG of the year 2017 to Nier Automata, Persona 5 or FFXIV Stormblood. I don't think Divinity Original Sin 2 is bad, I just prefer handcrafted story-driven and character-driven RPGs (like Final Fantasy) or purely gameplay-driven and loot-driven RPGs (like Diablo 2 and Path of Exile) to sandbox do-what-you-want-and-see-what-happens kind of RPGs like Divinity Original Sin or even Breath of the Wild. I realize Larian are targeting a specific niche and I'm glad it's working so well for them, I'm just not into that particular niche.
The moment that really wowed me in this game. I was struggling with the fight with Griff, after failing the battle 3 times I tried to see if I could lure away any of griffs allies, I used the red prince to talk with Butter and ended up flirting with her. Thinking oh well I can’t lure her away better try the battle again. Then once it starts she is an ally. I lost her in the fight 1 turn before I was able to kill the last enemy. After the battle I found her diary and inside it talked about how she had just met someone and was excited for the future 😭 it was so sad.
DeepbloodEclipse having just finished a replay of Ultima 7, I can safely say they surpassed it in certain areas (character development and combat especially), but if you're talking world simulation stuff, yeah those NPC schedules are a tall order...
I used to love Turn Based but the last few years my attention span has not let me enjoy the slower games like a turn base game. But this game kept me very interested.
@@tntrigued5011 totally. i despise turn based. gave this a shot & it was worth it. fair warning though if you prefer something with a faster pace & enjoy skipping cutscenes/storylines then this might not be your cup of tea
It's kind of ironic, I enjoy turn-based and tactical systems as much as action-based ones, I just didn't know this game existed until Steam said "Hey Bro, you been playing Divinity 2 Developer's Cut, maybe you'll like Divinity Original Sin 2". Grabbed it during the Summer Sale and so far I have not been disappointed.
I've played so much that I've actually had dreams involving the game. Not to mention that I catch myself randomly humming the music throughout the day.
This happens with any strategy game you play too much. For me Total War Warhammer was the first lol. But yeah, it's basically Tetris effect but for RPG's/Strategy games lol. It means you need a long break.
Sure Pillars was great, Wasteland 2 had options and Tyranny was original. But they felt like expansions from a different (albeit great) era. Divinity Original Sin 2 captures the same magic, with all the modern eye-candy and spoken dialogue! Playing this I felt like a 14 year old kid and made me forget about the years that shaped me into a 'responsible' adult. Thank you!
SPOILER ALERT : This game is so amazing. You remembered the lizard Atusa that was killed with the laser beam at start of fort joy? Well, I took her "parts" for some odd reason. Later part of fort joy, there was a encounter with Kniles, for the face ripper, and if you had the body part, you get the item without any encounters! Just imagine, a decision you made 3-10 hours ago WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY WEIRD, like looting a body part, could reflect a future encounter. Amazing.
I ate it with my elf to get a quest. I remember eating it granted the fortify ability in the alpha version (or so I believe). Too bad it was removed, unless I'm thinking of another body part I ate. My elf is a monster.
I've been saving up body parts for days now and I finally consumed like 60-80 severed parts with Fane and learned a bunch of new skills and quests lol. I didn't realize if you transformed Fane into an Elf that he can actually eat the body parts and learn as well. RIP to the little boy who was eaten by a shark.
To be Honest, the last time a RPG Game made me that disconnected from actual reality must've been Gothik 2 when i was, 9. 10 maybe? it just feels so good finally having a fully fleshed out game, no dlc bullshit, no lootcrates, just FUN
My buddy and I started a co-op lone wolves play through last night. After one reroll when we figured out a little bit more about what we were doing, we went at it for 10 hours straight. I have not been able to sit down to any game for more than a couple hours max in years. Not since Dragon Age Origins. I adore this game. I want to spend every free minute I have with it, but I don't really want to blow through it too fast. This is one of those games that begs you to slow down and relish your first play through. Not that I won't go through it another half dozen times at least, but I want to savor it. This has already become my personal favorite RPG of all time.
GameSpot I created a reactive damage sponge with necromancy so i heal when they attempt to hit me because of the damage reflection even making the ai second guess hitting me unless it wanted to die
I played as Ifan and had a blast. Having that extra origin story on top of the great writing made the story super rich. Nothing comes close to this as my GOTY. Nothing this year makes me feel the passion of the devs through every aspect of the game like this game does. Hell, and I didn't even play the first one... so I guess that's another game to add to my list to play!
Just finished my third playthrough. It’s astonishing the sheer variety of build possibilities. There are still insane looking spells and playstyles I haven’t had a chance to try. I only toward the end of playthrough 3 tried Equalise for the first time and I have yet to play a Summoner class at all. Queuing up playthrough 4 next, my first lone wolf playthrough.
@@williaamlarsson So, Baldur's Gate might not be surpassed for long then, if everything will gone smoothly and old (overzealous?) fans won't give it a bad press due to ineviteble changes in gameplay?
not even close you fanboy. lol baldur's gate was way better designed, had an actual world map designed which you could return to every area if desired(with respawning enemies), unlike this game. not to mention baldurs gate storyline was way better and had much more depth spanning the sequels. dont get me wrong, this aint a bad game, but better than BG? maybe in graphics...
wait, so you can do a good game without microtransactions? AND without a publisher? what? i thought games nowadays had to do it so they could afford themselves.
watching a 2 year old video and everybody in the comments is like "that surpassed baldurs gate" while already knowing that larian studios is developing a new baldurs gate! Larian is goals!!
Finished the game the other day, and loved every moment of it. My dwarf had such a random journey, and I loved how much flexibility there was in ability builds and choices in the game. Definitely gonna play through it again sometime.
Nah, I'm not good, it's just an addictive, immersive game hehe. I think I got through it in about 100 hours, and I'm pretty sure I missed things here and there. Fun game though.
This game...well let's put it this way. I am a patient gamer, I rarely pay full price for JUST the base game. This feels like it was well worth the price of admission...I am still at Fort Joy
Have been playing this with my 7 year old for the past 3 weeks, we absolutely love it. Feel my pain though: - She steals everything. - she starts fights with random npcs - while I'm in dialogue, she's looted everything. - she used health potions on my undead character - ill freeze people in fight and she'll use fire on them. - she'll teleport me without consent - she'll summon fire slug and fortify it and only use her character to support the slug - she'll skip dialogue and wonder why a fight started or wonder what to do next. List goes on 😂
My son and I are playing this game together. We have limited time, but ever single gameplay session, we sit down for a “hour” and after what seems like 30 minutes we find that 3 hours have somehow gone by. The skill to talk to animals is almost necessary because they have incredible stories too. This is a amazing game.
Only a few hours in and I can already tell this game is a masterpiece. I can't wait to start making quests with the dungeon master mode after I finish campain.
"Dense" is an understatement. I am continually blown away by not just how many different people there are to talk to (including a whole host of hidden spirits, and animals if you have the Pet Pal talent) and things to do for them, but how much LOVE and CARE has been poured into each one! Even the tiniest character interactions leave me smiling, because they were actually written cleverly, the encounters are all very creative, and almost *everything* in this game is either voice acted or narrated. It actually stands out as a shocking exception when something isn't spoken aloud in a great voice, including the descriptions of things you see or interact with. I am in love with this game's content and applaud what seems like a monumental step forward for the genre.
My girlfriend and I both absolutely love this game. We finished the entire first game as co-op and are now about halfway through DOS2. its an amazing way in which we spend time together and i wish there were more games like this.
This game is a freakin masterpiece. I never thought I would get into a turn based game coming from a FPS background but the dynamics of the fighting system is incredibly interesting, challenging, and extremely fun. This game is so good. Also with the entire game being voice acted you feel like you really get sucked into the story which for me is much easier than endless hours of reading.
My first play through was ~200hrs, I took the pet pal talent early and listened to every thing. Talked to all the rats, crabs, turtles, dogs, cats, chickens, squirrels, rabbits, deers and bears I could find, oh and people too. It was quite an in depth time consumption. If it wasn't fully voiced I have little doubt it would've been more of a w/e game to me, as I still haven't finished Pillars, or DOS1. Hearing the emotion that was intended, the personality come out of the story characters... it makes a world of difference.
I've never been nor tried to be a "Table Rpg player" ( yet I played some Mass Effect, Skyrim, FF and other turned based game ). But when I received this game as a birthday gift from a really good friend, and it took me about 30minutes to even create my first character, then we spent the night playing this game together while he was teaching me some stuffs and let me discover its universe, I knew. I knew this would be MY game for the next serveral weeks/months. And the icing on the cake is the fact the dev studios are in Gand ( Belgium ), and I didn't expect such a game to be created in my country ! Thank you again for gifting me this incredible master piece, Papercuts friend.
Picked the game up about 3 weeks ago while on sale. Spent around 120 hours on my first play though. The day after finishing the game I made a new character and started again. The game is amazing.
> Be me. > Be traveling with some companions, chatting about how we are going to save the world from its imminent demise, and enjoying life. > Notice a part of the forest is set ablaze. > Decide to check it out. > See a weird undead looking woman flying on a cross above the flames. > Trying not to **** myself, as silent hill flashbacks hit me one after another. > Approach the woman and ask if she needs help. > She replied with something along the lines of "I am the developer of the game, and I hope you are already in the habit of making infinite quicksaves every 10 milliseconds.". > Watch party and myself burn in an instant. 10/0.0003. - The guy who forgot to quicksave.
I started playing after work Thursday night and as of Sunday when I went to bed, I totaled 29 hours. I am onto the mainland for a while now. I love everything about it including the little things like having multiple quick saves.
Same...my first time playing amounted to the same time .. it's a game you just can't escape, once you start playing. Now I've just got ti finally get to Dallis, and I'm already sad that it will end soon. I won't say how many hours I've put into the game by now, but let's say... it's a lot. Been barely eating and sleeping since I started playing...
I was an avid Baldurs Gate, Torment and Neverwinter Nights player way back in the day. I love me a good turn based good RPG. I dont think Ive found an equal to those games in the past 20 years but after only playing DOS2 DE for the past few days I have high high hopes that this will be a great return to the RPG quality of the past. I can definitely see the influence in this game from Baldurs Gate & NWN. Loving it so far!
This game is absolutely phenomenal. I beat it with a friend and IMMEDIATeLY starting a new game at a higher difficulty level. You didn't even get into ability builds and yet I still found your review spot on. I'd recommend it to anyone willing to get lost in hours and hours of gameplay.
Finally convinced a friend to play this with me, and double dipped to buy it on PS4 so we could. The console controller experience is MUCH more clunky, but doesn’t take anything away from the charm of the game. One of the best rpgs I’ve ever played, DEFINITELY the best co-op RPG I’ve ever played
One million lines of dialogue. I guess it makes sense, but that’s 33x the amount of dialogue that went into Fallout 4. That sort of dedication is just unheard of.
My only gripe is that the quest is hard to do because you dont know what to do because the journal doesnt put the quest with clues in it rather a long list of encounters that you dont know if it is quest related.
Its my fav game since it really does matter what you do in game in long run . . Its one of those super rare gems that you buy and dont regret purchase 😊
This game could be one of the greatest of this type to be created. It’s amazing story wise, truly the world feels so realistic and it’s amazing how much detail is in this game. I appreciate them so much and I’m on board with them all the way, I usually pirate games and watch reviews before I buy the game so I did that and in the end (like The Witcher 3) I ended up paying for it on all 3 platforms and I’m glad, they deserve all the money. I’m normally very picky with things I like due to my mind getting bored so I can’t watch, listen to things that I can predict like tropes/generic repetition and this game always surprised me. Thank you Larian, I trust you 100% with Baldurs Gate.
Nah, it's better. It allows you more customization, and has a game master mode similar to D&D. Form your own adventures, literally. Hella better than Fallout in general honestly.
Wtf? This is nothing like fallout. Besides, there is already a game EXACTLY like fallout 1-2 but in a medieval setting, it's called "Skyrim".. you may have heard of it.. 😕
This isn’t event one even the best RPGs out there, this is a game that should be considered one of the best games of ALL TIME. Honestly, it should be considered as the GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME! No game in existence could ever come as close as to this masterpiece. It is a glorious game. The jump from Divinity 1 to 2 is like perfecting perfection. If someone manages to top this game then... holy shit.
I'm playing a ranger with a couple points in scoundrel. I'm rolling with Louise whose a cleric/necro tank whose damage is garage but is really hard to kill. The red prince is my 2 handed dps and knockdown king. Sibile is a duel wielding mage with a wind and fire focus. I'm in love with the game put roughly 25 hours in at this point with no end in sight. I love it I'm so driven to find out the story of my party it's ridiculous.
I am realllyyyy hoping that they drive all this passion that was put into divinity into baldurs gate 3 too. Divinity still takes up hours of my days sometimes. God I love it and I hope baldurs gate is just as good if not better.
I have tried so many times to play these games but I just don’t have to retry fights for hours on end. I don’t wanna have to google every 45 mins to figure out what insane trick people figured out so I can beat an encounter.
My favorite game to play lately. I love how there is the different origins to get to know of your companions/playable characters. Funny thing though by a little ways in based on the lore of hte characters I end up wanting wanting to go lone wolf with each them.
I played a lot of games in my life. This one and its predecessor is standing out. Both parts (start with the first if you have not done it yet) are pure gems of video games. I think i will remember them both for a very very long time and they will have a special place when remembering all the great games i played so far. My humble thanks to Larian for creating this enchanting masterpices. If they wish to continue making games, it would be my honor to buy there upcoming creations.
We started our second playthrough yesterday, party of 4, full origin characters this time. Even with ou knowledge of our previous adventures, 6hours flew by the first area, well more like 20% of it and the best part ? it feel like a completely new adenture, both in gameplay, story and ambience. We can explore the lore even deeper, play more in character. So with the + 60 hours of the first blind playthrough, and this one on the way... let's say When we start baldur's gate 3 it might be the definitive edition xD
1:20 offtopic. I saw these potions and lockpicks and got overwhelmed with emotions 😔 Somehow this 3 seconds footage made me remember what a game Neverwinter Nights was.
Hands down my game of the year, been playing the game with 2 buddies in weekly sessions and I havent been so excited or enraptured by a game in years. Names wise we were a bit less creative: "Wraithmere Godsworn" the Barbarian Lizard Deathknight , "Bo ragnor" the drunken Dwarf cleric, "Lily Leaf" The Heartless and flirtatious Elf Ranger, and the Red Prince, the summoner and support of the party who hates everyone else but sticks along for the ride.
agree 100%, though i played 140 hours over 2 weeks with a single player and a co-op player. side note i recommend playing an origin character if any jive with you since they have there own independent questlines and interactions.
I'm new to this type of game and It took me a while to get into it (and I mean I refunded it and bought it again) but when I did I realised how much I have been missing out. I look at my past previous fave games of all time which have RPG's In them but man It blows my mind how none of them can touch this game what so ever and makes me sad that people praise games that are nowhere near this good if you get what I'm saying, maybe it can be too much for people? any rate I hope we get sequels cause I found some treasure here.
I played before it came out, but i don't remember what name it had. It was a male ranger elf with air magic. When the game came out i created a female ranger elf named Acini Cherrybloom, who also had summoning skills. She was very strong. I have 305 hours in the game now, and i'm on my way to complete a honor mode playthrough
One of my favorite things is the ability to pick up so much stuff. HUGE fan of Ultima 7 .. one of the first games that allowed that sort of thing. Just give me all the things! This game .. is brilliant in it's roleplaying style as well and i'm headed off to go play it now.
Playing last night, i came across a sturdy dwarf guarding the entrance to an illegal underground arena that also distributes drugs. he didnt like my character so he dint let me in, there was about 9 options to try and persuade him, the ones i tried failed i even tried to seduce him (my character is an undead male elf) ... so i tried speaking to him with 1 of my companions, who has the outlaw tag, there was now 10 dialogue options because of this, i selected the outlaw option and i was allowed to enter. its simple things like this, that make DOS2 so great. that and the many, many ways you can approach a situation, and this dosnt only include the player, this applies to the NPCs as well, an example of this in the 1st act of the game is when you meet the sadistic physician Kniles i think his name was, on my 1st character (I started again as i wasnt happy with my build, only to find you can respec later in the game) he liked me and he liked fane my companion, he showed fane a way of ripping off faces and he was pleased and he let us leave without attacking us, on my 2nd character i didnt get this far, he wouldnt entertain fane and he wouldnt speak to me, so an epic battle ensued. In the 2nd act you meet his mother, just a random bar maid, based on your encounter with kniles you get extra dialogue options, she doted on him and wished for his return and then asked me if i knew him and i said "Yes, iam the one who killed him after all" she called me a liar and barred me lmao.
Guys i need help i have a lot of side quest but they dont show on mini map is this how the game looks like cause i only see red flag whe i go there can't do anything
my first play through of this game took me 125 hours we did a 3 man co-op and on the second play through now, we missed some quests on the first as well
I want to want this game. I played the first one for about 15 hours, but I just suck at turn based combat. I never think ahead and always paint myself into a corner. I like being in control in real time
I agree 100 percent. I play the first one with my gf, it's her first game ever and it easy for her to grasp and us to play together. If it wasn't for her I would never touch it. So slow, it's for people who can't react quickly and need things to be slow.
A friend and i just finished a campain that lasted 64 hours. We just started a new one. The previous campain ended with him and me. Dueling for the title of The One. His initiative was faster and he had 2 aeromancers. Loshe and an undead named Death. His genious plan was to use dubble lightningstorm to finish of my elf ranger and knight dwarf. The lightning strike dudnt hit us. So the elf jumped to the center of the map with tactical retreat. Sacrificed some blood (+10% dmg) and said a few words: "Its over Death.. I have the highground!" and so the elf dipped his arrow in his own blood (elemental arrowheads) and unleashed a devistating arrowstorm that previously had one shoted the final boss. And was now hailing over his previous commrad. 3 arrows hit Loshe dead on and she died emidietly. 4 arrows hit Death straight in the chest, some damage was reflected back on the Elf and broke his magic armor. But Death... Resisted Death. (comeback kid) Alas the Elf still had 4 AP left and that would be plenty to finish of the former comrad. "Any last words" the elf said. But just as his words left his mouth (yes it's still the elfs turn) a huge lightning struck the elf and turned him in to dust. And so Death became The One. Legend say the elf is still screaming over how the hell that could've happend.
I'm playing through as a Female Lizard too, called Eddy LizArd. My mate and I have been playing through in a duo campaign and It's been a long time since I've been so entranced with a game that forget what time it is and realise that I've got work in the morning haha! I'm currently uploading the playthrough to my channel and even watching the videos back while editing is so gripping. Much love for this game.
Didn't even mention the wild four player co-op. Nothing quite like having to murder everyone in fort joy because the rogue keeps getting caught with other people's possessions. Or getting teleported onto enemies to start initiative.
The only issue i have with the game is thst the level of interaction you can have with random objects, like boxes, stools, rolled up carpets etc. Is not specifically explained so i often avoid creative solutions to issues and i just do the most obvious thing
Everything about DOS1 and 2 I mark as I liked ! I´ve played the first one on the launching and the second i've played few months after the release. Awesome. We wainting for the job of LArian in BG3!
I definitely agree here, DOS2 is a fantastic game with a butload of choice. Heck, me and a friend broke a puzzle by using teleport scrolls once! I'm playing as an undead Lizard priest named Kaius and it really is a blast
Hi. I also miss that pen&paper Rpg feel, but that's not only about freedom of choice (and consequences) but also about a party. Last time I got that feel was with the first Neverwinter Nights. I know Divinity 2 has co-op up to 4 players, but how good is it? Does it work better as a single player game, or is multiplayer worth it?
I've not played any co-op yet, but there are some members of our American team that are playing and they're loving it! From what I understand there are plenty of options to screw over your partner too.
Your video?
Don't do twitter, but please tell me you had Loshe and played the lute after killing the Demon, best RPG moment I have had in 30 years
yeah, This is a great game man. Im just now playing it. I haven't been this addicted to a RPG since Baldurs Gate 1&2.
may i suggest some "activia"?
No dlc bullshit, no lootcrate, no overprice and awesome gameplay and story, yes this is my goty
And mine !
Persona 5 is mine but this is a worthy second
Shame how "gameplay" was the last thing you mentioned for your GOTY. Seems like you rather focus on non-game matters more than how a game plays
oso024 dude I liked your comment purely just for your profile pic
+ArsenicSteel00 Actually story was the last thing he mentioned
I'm really, really, really, really liking to see how much this game is being loved by the critics. First, because the guys at Larian Studios absolutely deserve the recognition.
This comment aged extremely well now that Larian is making the next Baldur's Gate!
Jonathan Régulo I totally agree with you. I loveeeeee rpgs and soooooooo desperately want more ones like this

Ransom Access Memory As long as it's not Obsidian, that's perfectly fine. (But I do have hope for Anthem to be honest.)
Yeah, the facial animations looks like a slight upgrade over Andromeda for sure :)
You opened the chest didn't you?
POE is the Baldur's Gate successor (not saying it's better, Divinity is better, but POE is much closer to BG)
Totally did haha that was great. Funniest moment in a RPG ever!
I murdered the red prince in the forest then took his face, he was my first. Now im a serial killer who steals faces and im not even undead. I just like faces. Oh and im a dwarf named Oghren.
Have you got a whole book of faces?
A face book?
No, but I keep them in Myspace.
...thats adorable..
rofled , this game must be so fucking good that everybody is so happy on the comments.. yeeah xD
Seen the new Dragon Age teaser?!
Definitely the best RPG I've ever played
you never played any SNES RPGs i take it
+1 JRPGs have nowhere near the gravitas of CRPGs they are actually RPGs, in JRPGs you just name your character lol and most of the time not even that.
I realize Larian are targeting a specific niche and I'm glad it's working so well for them, I'm just not into that particular niche.
quality... quality all around.
WOW :|
So happy for Larian! Been a fan of their games since Divine Divinity, and it seams they finally made their masterpiece.
Nope, their ultimate goal has not been reached yet. Their true goal is to make a game that can surpass Ultima 7.
DeepbloodEclipse having just finished a replay of Ultima 7, I can safely say they surpassed it in certain areas (character development and combat especially), but if you're talking world simulation stuff, yeah those NPC schedules are a tall order...
Divine Divinity was a first and the last of their game, sadly.
I almost passed up on this game because of the turn based combat... I'm so glad I didn't, this is the most fun I've had playing a video game in years!
i dont like turn based either but this game makes me enjoy it for the first time
I used to love Turn Based but the last few years my attention span has not let me enjoy the slower games like a turn base game. But this game kept me very interested.
Do you recommend someone that don't like turn based to buy this game?
Not to mention that I catch myself randomly humming the music throughout the day.
yeah I continued my playthrough of the game in my dreams, that doesn't happen that often :D
O gods I dreamed about it 2 lol
i always whistle the tune from arx
That's happen to me in every game I play. Because I play for 10 hours straight maybe.
This happens with any strategy game you play too much. For me Total War Warhammer was the first lol. But yeah, it's basically Tetris effect but for RPG's/Strategy games lol. It means you need a long break.
This game doesn't have micro-transactions or DLC. UNPLAYABLE
just awesome troll
I purchased 3 copies of the game just to make up for the lack of loot boxes :(
it has 1 dlc on ps4
@@xdaniels13 he is joking
Don't you have cell phones???
Amazing.
Yes. That's Divinity Original Sin for ya! XD
I ate it with my elf to get a quest. I remember eating it granted the fortify ability in the alpha version (or so I believe). Too bad it was removed, unless I'm thinking of another body part I ate. My elf is a monster.
Michael Horn X"D
Hey i can't be expected to remember the flesh of every worthless human i consume.
Best RPG I've ever played, hands down. Definitely my game of the year.
IMO it's flat out one of the best games ever to be made. There's a real argument for it.
What class do you play in Divinity: Original Sin II?
GameSpot I created a reactive damage sponge with necromancy so i heal when they attempt to hit me because of the damage reflection even making the ai second guess hitting me unless it wanted to die
Inquisitor!! All hell yea that life leech!
What class? I got a team of varied dudes. Undead Huntsman Wizard, Battle Wizard Lizard, Elf Rogue/Assassin, and Human Cleric with Necromancy.
I myself started with Two-Handed Warrior.
GameSpot this looks real fun and this is the first video I've seen on it
Pirated it and clocked 20 hours..
Bought it on steam.
Rome Dela Rosa bullshit you beat it in such minimal time
randomguy6679 i said clocked in it doesnt mean finished the game
I'm glad you bought it, Larian deserve the support.
If you had played the first game you wouldn't have priated it in the first place.
Bullshit, you didnt even buy it.
This is definitely Larians Magnum Opus - Finally Baldurs Gate has been surpassed
And now Larian is making Baldurs Gate 3, damn it's going to be good🤩
@@williaamlarsson So, Baldur's Gate might not be surpassed for long then, if everything will gone smoothly and old (overzealous?) fans won't give it a bad press due to ineviteble changes in gameplay?
not even close you fanboy. lol baldur's gate was way better designed, had an actual world map designed which you could return to every area if desired(with respawning enemies), unlike this game. not to mention baldurs gate storyline was way better and had much more depth spanning the sequels.
dont get me wrong, this aint a bad game, but better than BG? maybe in graphics...
@@Vinnytendo64 agree 100 percent
wait, so you can do a good game without microtransactions? AND without a publisher? what? i thought games nowadays had to do it so they could afford themselves.
Considering playing games is your job you can't say spending 59hrs on this game means you have no life lol. Playing games is your life
Roy Senpai's Fan Club when people refer to you as having “no life”, they usually mean you have no social life.
Roy Senpai's Fan Club , bruh yes indeed , a part time job for me ...at least 30+ hours
A job is a job...if you love what you do then youll have a great time. Alot of ppl work to get money to get to do what they want.
its all depends how much time do you spend these 58 hours.
im playing divinity for about a month now. still not finished, and still fun as fuck
Many IGN reviewers are freelancers.
watching a 2 year old video and everybody in the comments is like "that surpassed baldurs gate" while already knowing that larian studios is developing a new baldurs gate! Larian is goals!!
Playing this for the first time in 2022, 55 hours deep. Absolutely hooked!
Finished the game the other day, and loved every moment of it. My dwarf had such a random journey, and I loved how much flexibility there was in ability builds and choices in the game. Definitely gonna play through it again sometime.
You finish it? I clocked more than 80hrs and judging from the walkthru im only half way. Damn your good
Nah, I'm not good, it's just an addictive, immersive game hehe. I think I got through it in about 100 hours, and I'm pretty sure I missed things here and there. Fun game though.
I guess 2nd round with diff build? There's so much i wanna try after im done completing the game.
Is the area after Reapers Coast the last area? I don't want my journey to come to an end haha.
@dlepi40 It is, but there's LOADS to do there too. Not all is visible.
This game...well let's put it this way. I am a patient gamer, I rarely pay full price for JUST the base game. This feels like it was well worth the price of admission...I am still at Fort Joy
It won't ever have DLC, people can just make their own adventures, so you have nothing to worry about. :)
Have been playing this with my 7 year old for the past 3 weeks, we absolutely love it.
Feel my pain though:
- She steals everything.
- she starts fights with random npcs
- while I'm in dialogue, she's looted everything.
- she used health potions on my undead character
- ill freeze people in fight and she'll use fire on them.
- she'll teleport me without consent
- she'll summon fire slug and fortify it and only use her character to support the slug
- she'll skip dialogue and wonder why a fight started or wonder what to do next.
I bought this game last xmas, and had a blast with my sister. literally the best decision ever.
Just waiting for this gem to hit the ps4 in a year or so. I'm currently playing divinity original sin enhanced edition and oh boy it's awesome.
japi289 it's coming on Nov for consoles
Same!
Ayyyyy
It’s here and I’m loving it better then the first game already
Let's see Halibut, sheep cheese, tomatoes.
Im not even into turn-based games and yet i find myself adoring this game
Fine I can't resist any longer picking it up now. xD
YES. ONE OF US
One of us. One of us.
Picked the game up about 3 weeks ago while on sale. Spent around 120 hours on my first play though. The day after finishing the game I made a new character and started again. The game is amazing.
I just started this game and like you…. 10 hours into Fort Joy and I haven’t left…
This game is basically DND without any of the complicated dice rolls or calculations needing to be done to perform an action
Baludurs gate 3, This studio is amazing
Played 10h first sitting. 12h second. Amazing game! 😂
I started playing after work Thursday night and as of Sunday when I went to bed, I totaled 29 hours. I am onto the mainland for a while now. I love everything about it including the little things like having multiple quick saves.
Same...my first time playing amounted to the same time
.. it's a game you just can't escape, once you start playing.
I'd recommend it to anyone willing to get lost in hours and hours of gameplay.
todd Howard
we recorded over 1000 words for skyrim
divinty 2: -_-
@Flatulence The Unending it's a joke dork
I fell in love again with the turn based combat, it make me remember the Joan of Arc game for PSP.
hidden gem for the psp
damn dude! whatta throwback!
One million lines of dialogue.
I guess it makes sense, but that’s 33x the amount of dialogue that went into Fallout 4.
That sort of dedication is just unheard of.
Legit this is one of my favorite games ever. I still am trying to get friends to play it in a 4 player campaign.
So it's like Fallout 1-2 but in a medieval setting?
SIGN ME THE FUCK UP!
Far, FAR better combat though. There's an actual party in D:OS2, not just "shoot for the eyes."
Nah, it's better. It allows you more customization, and has a game master mode similar to D&D. Form your own adventures, literally. Hella better than Fallout in general honestly.
more baldurs gate than fallout, and ill probably get crucified for saying this but.... DOS2 > Baldurs Gate 2
Really? Better? I cant beleive it. Even better villian then John? Even better characters then Viconia or Imoen?
Wtf? This is nothing like fallout.
Besides, there is already a game EXACTLY like fallout 1-2 but in a medieval setting, it's called "Skyrim".. you may have heard of it.. 😕
l love this game so much. Replaying it 2.5 years later, I still love it.
If someone manages to top this game then... holy shit.
Well... Larian actually outdid themselves with BG3...
That’s it! It’s on sale for $19.99 and I’m buying it once and for all!
Oooo! I wondered what all the hype was about. I'll be picking this up now. Well done >D
This game is amazing... I need sleep.
What is the flute song in the beginning of the video before the review begins?! It's been bugging me forever!
Divinity original sin 2 is maybe the best RPG I've played on PC.
I saw these potions and lockpicks and got overwhelmed with emotions 😔 Somehow this 3 seconds footage made me remember what a game Neverwinter Nights was.
love when ground is aflame..so cast bless on it and turns blue holy fire
Do I need to have played Divinity Original Sin 1 to like/understand 2? Thanks.
This one takes place a thousand years after 1 soooooo NO.
Nope. Everything that is relevant will be explained throughout the game play. Enjoy!
Finished the game but yet still want to explore all by starting new one :D
This game makes me smile ☺ in this bad times!.
The voice acting was such a great idea, love it.
Guys i need help i have a lot of side quest but they dont show on mini map is this how the game looks like cause i only see red flag whe i go there can't do anything
Your character's name is Mandersala....Hmmm, jumble the letters around and you have Salamander. Clever, my friend 😉
Ayyy. Nailed it ;)
U4ATE2015 witcher 1 reference?
Do you really think thats clever, ATE2015U4?
I scoured the comments to find this explanation. Well done 👍
real talk. this is the best RPG iv played in years and top 5 of all time...it even has GREAT multiplayer? amazing
my first play through of this game took me 125 hours we did a 3 man co-op and on the second play through now, we missed some quests on the first as well
I want to want this game.
This game made me fall in love with RPGs again. Haven't played a game like this since dragon age Origins
If you haven't tried the Witcher 3 or Pillars of eternity, you must.
They both have extremely good storytelling.
@@justinchristy9047 I'll try em as soon as I complete this one. Thanks for the recommendation!
(comeback kid)
Alas the Elf still had 4 AP left and that would be plenty to finish of the former comrad.
I played it almost non stop since i bought... 50h till now. How can i stop? I don't want it to finish, i want more
Didn't even mention the wild four player co-op.
TIL the red ball was used for distracting those dogs. i knew it was an unique item but didnt know where to use it on.
Why was the monitor shaking?
I can't wait to play this game! This is what we get when a developer makes a game with passion.
Because I am SO FULL OF ENERGY
By far the best rpg in a decade, probably to be surpassed by Baldur's Gate 3 haha
Getting this Friday, I'm so excited!
Full on Lone Wolf on Tactician mode with Geomancer/Polymorph Fane is beyond perfect. I fucking love this game.
Everything about DOS1 and 2 I mark as I liked
