I try to give new VR players a small rug to stand on, which they pretty much ignore unless you remind them constantly
its not that we ignore it, its hard to tell that its there unless your just wearing socks and it has a different texture than the floor. otherwise you just cant tell its there.

You can turn on Passthrough Mode on the Quest to see your environment actually. It’s meant to be a safety feature, but Caleb woke up and chose violence instead 😂

Something cool about the Q3 is the cameras can let you see outside like you didn’t have it on, idk if other headsets do it but its kinda fun to just walk around like that
several other headsets have something like that (such as the quest 2), but the quest 3 has far better cameras and sensors and is generally designed to be way better at augmented reality (rendering stuff on top of a view of the outside world)

Honestly, that would be a fire idea for a horror movie. A guy who’s so captivated in his VR haven he becomes detached from normal reality and attacks everyone around him. It could be a comedy horror just by the sheer ridiculousness of it.

The Star Trek Next Generation episode "The Game" had a huge influence on that fascination.
