    Roy-Aaron was an awesome character.

'Primal Fear', 'American History X' and 'Fight Club' were three of the greatest and most defining performances of the 90s as well as all time. Edward Norton is a genius!

Dave Studdaman I agree that Brad Pitt stole the show in Fight Club, but Norton was great as well. It just happened that Pitt’s character was able to showcase his personality much more than Norton’s character.

American History X - all day long. Acting stretch akin to Mr. Fantastic; the physical transformation - one of the best, if not best performance, ever, of all time. Absolute masterful film.

Finally, an interviewer who just winds up Ed Norton, then steps back and lets him go. This is more interesting info than the majority of interviews I've seen. Good work!
The best, underrated Norton performances/films I think are in: "Down in the Valley", "Death to Smoochy", "Stone" (which he mentions in this interview), and "The Painted Veil". "Valley" is my personal favorite.

*Amazing actor & a genuine person, Edward Norton is very scary when he gets angry in his films, especially in Primal Fear, American History X, & Fight Club, especially in the scene when he destroys Jared Leto's Angel Face!. Joaquin Phoenix actually turned down American History X because he felt that it was too intense, Ed Norton took a pay cut to be be in the film.*

Machiavellian and of a rare intelligence! thank you Edward for this unforgettable performance!!! it's Great great cinema 🙏💜

Add to the great's Edward Norton has done "The Illusionist",, the story was excellent, Paul Giamatti and Jessica Biel did their part to make one of film's finest. I'm convinced "The Illusionist" was never given it's just due,, but that's only my VERY BIASED opinion. I am not afraid to say I am a fan of Edward Norton. He - in my humble opinion - stands beside Ed Harris among film's finest craftsmen.

This is going to sound crazy...but it is true. Watching Fight club I noticed a glitch, blip, flash... something like that.
It was a fraction of a second. So I rewound (VHS) a few seconds and began going frame by frame and all of a sudden bam!!! There it was. A wtf moment.
One frame...one single frame of full male frontal from just above to just below.
    Why?

I mean, apart from Polly's Nation, I was trying to tell some people about my bad dreams , and I might have bloked my adjectives somewhat. I wasn't sure everyone could really summon the queasily throbbing technicolour, the disconcerting contrast effect that used to happen with properly processed celluloid. I used to get car sick, I guess it was like that. So when I adventured into photography I had this properly subconscious urge to show everyone the really real unreality of it. I wanted to sneak up the viewers and sort of surprise their eyeballs, you know. Not unpleasantly.
In England they play a game called "Duck, duck , goose" and I guess that's the sort of anticipation I liked to evoke.

    • @AmiUnhinged
      @AmiUnhinged 4 месяца назад

That was "Misery Loves Company" by Emilie Autumn . I love the idea that she's this tiny nightmare babe lol you knew she was trouble when she walked in.
Anyway the overexposure value was partially due to the chemicals used in processing that would burn through a lens and a lamp and basically until the more complex colour development processes were invested in, basically it would leave a silhouette on the paper. Really it was heartening you know like sweet to learn about it since that's basically the domain of bold new futurists now.
Once I had a bad dream that everyone on TV was dead and in he'll, where basically really convoluted witchcraft experiments were conducted in clandestine workshops. I remember watching this one guy experiment with developer acid, and depending on what acid he used would change the person he saw in the photo. Like malic acid and lemon juice etc anyway the picture was of the demon. Like "Who Killed Laura Palmer" twin peaks style but the opposite. You don't want to meet the acid demons.
you know the really wildest of magical experiments seriously nobody survives to yap about. Anyway they all fall out of their separate hells one summer when a theme park full of nazi clones gets drowned on a rollar coaster in a hurricane, just when they were getting g used to hell rules:
Don't ever talk to invisible people. One team of demons says it's you and they drug you up to the eyeballs , the other know it's a nano-cloud hologram and never ever say.
Like... the old "Degrees of a Sphere" joke I made when I was young

As much as they love to drool over Fight Club it differs in depth from these other in my view greater films in that FC is ultimately an over the top fiction comedy. We know that it's not real. Those movies before especially AHX carry a lot more weight. FC is just pure entertainment at it's best.

I use this to fall asleep lol….great actor and probably a good writer as well but the art of writing is to know what to put in and to know what to take out. Most of this 49 min video could have been condensed to 10 min honestly. Make him 85 and he’s Lionel Barrymore.

I have too much to say, and I’m thinking about way too much so I just mess it all up. I’m not saying I’m as smart and clever as Edward Norton, that would be insane.
