    It seems there is a lot of spray from the machine. A VJ machine has a nice splash guard that stope a lot of splash going every where.

      I agree. It helps when I run it at 3/4 speed opposed to full.

    Ok advice time, pre form off the dop, sometimes issues arise after you start and redopping is a pain. When the v5 is set for the angle, press the set button and it will alarm when you get to the angle. Otherwise great looking stone. I felt the same way when I got my v5 a couple months ago

    Hello dear
    I'm a fan
    And enjoy your work
    Would like to know where did you get that brass screw subtitled with Allen screw ????

    • @colethynne
      @colethynne  2 года назад

      Hello, the brass screw came stock on this V5! My older version, the ultra tec V2 used the Allen ken.

    Hi Cole
    I've just come across your channel and I'm liking it. I;m just starting out cutting (two years for far) Question I have is the RI you cut was 1.81 and amethyst I thought was 1.54. Did you change the RI to suit Amethyst? The stone you ended up with looked great.

      Hey Mark,
      Good question and observation. I think I changed the pavilion angles to work with quartz (amethyst). Definitely an important step you don’t want to miss. I use gem cut studio now it really makes things easier and faster. Thanks for watching and following along ♥️

    does the App tell you the the degree angle pitch to set the facets takes a lot of practice and patience

    • @colethynne
      @colethynne  2 года назад

      It isn't an app actually, it is a just gem diagram. But yes, the diagram gives me specific angles and other details to help me out . It definitely takes practice ☺️ Thanks for watching

    Hi impressive
    How much did you pay for machine and accessories?
    How much shipping and custom ?
    Which country does it imported to?
    Thanks

    • @colethynne
      @colethynne  2 года назад

      Hello. I would recommend searching for a used machine before making the big invest. This machine is fully upgraded and was imported from America. After purchasing all the laps, dops, polishing compounds, accessories and paying shipping and import fees, you can expect to pay over $20,000. Thanks for watching.

    First of all, thanks for the video. I have a piece of amethyst gemstone and weighs about 55 carats,it’s uncut. I am considered selling it. Would you be able to give me the value for it ? Thanks

    • @colethynne
      @colethynne  Год назад

      The value depends highly on the colour and grade. Is it all a deep purple, or is it light purple and clear. Thanks for watching

    You should be holding on to the stone not the lifting/indexing rod. Less likely to lose a stone .

    • @colethynne
      @colethynne  2 года назад

      I didn't realize it lessened the chance of dropping the stone. Thanks for the tip 🙌👍

    For the price of the V5, the packaging looks surprisingly cheap. Precision mast wrapped in a few layers of bubble pack? Seriously?
