    This is a really good video. I just changed mine and my oven is working fine. However, don't do what I did. Silly me... When I pulled off the faceplate off the old one, I didn't realize I pulled off the electronic part with it. I put it all on the new one and didn't realize it. I got the oven all back together and nothing worked. I freaked out. Then I looked at the old one and realized I pulled the old circuitry off with the faceplate. Had to remove the faceplate again and pull off the old circuitry. Put it back together and worked fine. I can't believe I didn't realize it when I was doing it.

    Thank you Sir! I watched this and it helped me to resolve f11 error. Used qtip and rubbing alcohol to clean the control board.

    I had an f11 error on my stove with a panel just like this, I took it off and there was moisture under the 9 button. I wiped it up with a qtip and cleaned all the other button contacts and the stick on cover with qtips and windex. Reinstalled everything and it's working fine so far

    Excellent Video. No use in messing around with trying to fix old control panel unless you are capable of it. I bought a new one from Sears Appliance Repair, $250 with new bezel and control unit. #2 Phillips to remove the back, check for upgrade filter, install new control board. Easy job for anyone who is a decent wrench. This video is a must to make an easy job easier. BTW the sellers of the bezel and the board are not real careful about packaging. Fortunately mine was not damaged upon arrival. Thanks to this video mine went off with no problems.

    A question, do you have to remove the lower back panel to replace EOC?

    I have model #FEF389CFSK Frigidaire range, with a 316024538 control panel. The broiler keeps turning itself on whenever the stove is used. I'm guessing the control panel needs replaced (please confirm). But, I can't find one anywhere. Is there a way to remove or disengage the broiler coil so it doesn't function but the cooktop and oven can be used?

    Don't you need to peel off the protective plastic film on the front of the overlay before you reinstall the control board?

    Hello, getting a "F11 ERR" code on a Frigidaire gas stove. Is it hard to change the electronic control board myself? Aside from unplugging the electric plug, do I also need to shut off the gas line?

    • @garyheaton4791
      @garyheaton4791 3 года назад +1

      Yes, turn off the gas at the (usually) red knob sticking out of the floor. You wouldn't HAVE to IF you have several extra feet of gas line to drag around with the stove. Most don't..as it's hard to place it when you install it. Always best to turn things like that off when you repair them..also when you turn it back on check for leaks in the usual manor.

    The electronic control panel installed where hot cooking pots are cooking, is a bad design on all stove / oven ranges in my opinion. The reason being, the heated element like a pot that is the same height as the control panel may touch that plastic screen and cause it to melt, rendering the control panel useless when you're pushing buttons to gain control of the oven, etc. Appliances should be made durable, and ready to handle what households have to dish out. Keeping that control panel below the burners is a much better design, because of the fact there will be less potential for heated metal to touch that panel.

    Wouldn't it be better to use a putty knife to remove the overlay?

    You skipped the whole part or did not show where you installed the new part and why the old one was failing to work.

    From my experience with Frigidaire ranges this problem is as common as hair on a DOG!!
    I have had two of them..both were junk!! I sold one with my last house, and bought one for this house when I moved in two years ago. Damn thing died last weekend in this one..the lady I sold my last house to called and said the same thing happened to her's two months before mine! DEFECTIVE is the ONLY word for this junk!!
    Oh..and I loved the part where you have to RIP that piece of cheap plastic junk off your old crap box, and REstick it to the NEW crap box!! And you don't even add new GLUE?? What kind of Micky mouse BS is that?? Cheap F**KS!!
    I will never buy another piece of Frigidaire JUNK again!!
    Thanks for the video pal..it made me laugh out loud!!👍👌
