The chef has not even bothered to visit Malaysia. Go read the google reviews. Many say it's not authentic.

Of course it is not authentic.. He said "it's his OWN spin of the dishes"... As long as the food is delicious and reminds people of home.. who cares if it isn't authentic.

If you want authentic you’re not going to a michellin star restaurant. You’re going there for the pomp and circumstance - it’s just using Malaysian flavours

This was so funny that the news published that the owner and chef hasn't visited Malaysia before. So it looks like the Michelin tasters have no benchmark for Malaysian food and the owners learned from Thai home cook food and this won Michelin for a Malaysian restaurant? Yes, it is crazy. Make us question who are these tasters in this world of transparency.

As a Malaysian, I would say that it's not fully 100% authentic Malaysian foods that cooks & serve in their restaurants but only inspired, but I'll definitely give it a try once I reach out the place, in my entire life if possible...

Where in hell is the nasi lemak, curry mee, roti canai, cendol and so on ? If u don't even HV the basic food of Malaysia, how can u call it Malaysian food ?

..he took over a Malaysian restaurant. So the former owners were Malaysian. He still cooks the dishes but he adds his own twists to the dishes.. so I see it as a Malaysian inspired restaurant. But you know lah, for these Americans who haven't had the exposure, as long as the food tastes great, that's good.
