For the record, when I made feats for Shoto in the recent training arc when I rated and scaled all the class quirks, I intentionally avoided looking at this fight knowing his ACTUAL temperature feats could be found here. I am super happy to be in the ballpark.
There is ONE time Zuko broke the rules of generating fire. And that’s in the siege of the north. He managed to melt ARCTIC ICE while underwater and out of air. Yes he had movement but there was no fuel to use. And it was a BIG layer. I don’t know if that really changes his fire feat since there’s a TON of factors to think about, but he would still stand no chance against Shoto’s much bigger ice blasts regardless.
Not to mention, if he delved in deep enough, he could be able to get to Endeavor levels. Who would likely beat Ozai for similar circumstances. Except Ozai while stronger than Zuko could not completely overwhelm Aang’s fire bending even in contacting blasts. So it’s likely his temperature can’t be much hotter or have that much force. While Endeavor’s clock out at 5,000°F for his plus ultra prominence burn. And regularly hitting 2,000°F without much trouble in the season 4 finale.
Yeah I love Zuko. But he REALLY stood no chance against Shoto.
Yes, they got Dante, who has voiced another character of his in Death Battle before: the American Dragon Jake Long.
To be clear, Dante is Jake in that show, but not in the DB
Five frog people, actually. Pretty sure it's only addressed in one or two specials taking place between seasons, but Tsuyu's whole family has frog quirks, all the kids being a little less froglike than the parents in appearance. Tsuyu's the oldest, with a younger brother and sister (in that order)
Zuko being 91 refers to his current age at the end of Legend of Korra (yes he does appear along with Katara and Toph.....Ang appears in flashbacks and visions and Sakka appears in flashback)

Also; Ozai VS Endeavor, while it could be an entertaining fight, would most likely end the same way this did (like father like son, am I right?)
Except Ozai's power doesn't hurt himself like Endeavor's does.
Zuko and Todoroki are literally the same character:
1. Both shoot red fire.
2. Both have scars on the top left of their face.
3. Both have abusive dads.
4. Both have disappearing moms.
5. Both have evil siblings WITH blue fire.
6. Both saw fire as only destruction.
7. Both learned to accept their fire because of the main character.
Sometimes I like to imagine scenarios for after the death battles. Like with this one I imagine that Zuko was waiting for Aang to hang out and he shows up after Shoto kills Zuko. And Aang just goes into the avatar or something.
But realistically I think Zuko and Shoto would just talk and bond over hating their dads after they realized they were the same.

I've actually like the ideas MHA has with quirks. even some of the weirder ones have their place in fights. I've even came up with my own due to abilities i personally like like the one i came up with first: the ability to produce mirror like skin all over the body at will. picture the user able to create mirrors at the forearm or palm of the hand, able to catch and refract oncoming attacks with little easy. of course the draw back is the area it can cover like exerting the amount all over the body would cause some minor pain but strain the body and wear you out. the other downside is mainly how much the user can tank before taking the hits. sure a very hard punch or powerful beam might take the hit, but consider a punch that could blow up a mountain or like a bomb. that kind of power couldn't be reflected due to the strength and range of the attack.
but~ as i said, the payoff would be powering up this ability to the limit. like say you got really powerful on your entire back, you'd be like an impenetrable turtle. not to mention the punches you could throw if you created mirrors on your knuckles, able to reflect the opponent like a punching bag. or even having the mirrors on the heels of your feet and either walking on dangerous environments or jumping higher than most due to the shock.
the universe of MHA opens the world to imaginative powers!
I'm picturing something like Chad from bleach, only using reflective abilities to block instead of just a normal human body.
Kind of a neat idea actually.
I personally like the idea of Velvet from Rwby, who can imitate the abilities of other semblances (quiks for non rwby fans) and use them as her own for a brief period just by seeing them, or capturing them in action through a photo.
Only my idea would be to copy them through contact with the hero/villain and learn their abilities through their DNA. Something like being able to phase through their bodies and merge momentarily before separating. Kinda like one of the henchmen in the first Inuyasha movie in how she copies Miroku's wind tunnel as he uses it.
here's the thing with next fighters: Archie Sonic is insane when it comes to his feats. also, archie sonic is WAY different than his video game counterpart. also, Wally West can run at faster-than-light speed for *days* without taking a break. also, there's another thing that Wally West has done, which is just mind-blowingly insane, but i'm gonna leave it for the video. can't wait to see your reaction to that one, Kyle. ;)
If you’re into speed, then Wally VS Sonic is proooobably gonna be your favorite one. Both are freaking busted in speed.

Originally, Zuko was going to win this matchup because they thought he had a higher speed advantage until they scaled Todoroki to Bakugo dodging lightning, which marginally losed to speed gap.
The game you saw in the video was My Hero One's Justice, can't tell if it either one or two. With one covering the begining, while two covers the overhaul arc.

In THEORY Zuko can learn to generate lightning now that his uh.... issues have been resolved, however it has never been DEMONSTRATED that he can do it, so it's unfair to give the ability to him.
Just in case anyone didn't know, Fire Lord Ozai was voiced by Mark Hamill, aka the Joker fromthe Batman animated series and Arkham games, the Skeleton King from Super robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go, Luke Skywalker from Star Wars episodes 4, 5, and 6, Stickybeard from Codename kids next door, Justice League Unlimited as Trickster, Undergrowth from Danny Phantom, Joker and Solomon Grundy from Justice League animated series, Joker from Superman the animated series, and a whole bunch of other characters across multiple games, movies and shows. One more thing, besides the avatar gang, before Zuko joined, Zuko is one of, if not the most, the most complex and interesting characters out of all of the characters from the last airbender.
Shoto: "My Father forced me to train every day, always to the point of exhaustion, never let me around any of my family members to bond, and abused my mother so much that when she saw the red hair that reminded her of him, she threw scolding hot water on that gave me a 3rd degree burn on my face."
Zuko: "Thats rough buddy."
Shoto definitely outclasses Zuko in sheer output but Zukos spent his whole life fighting those more talented than him and persevering. This fight really is a match made in heaven
I have a meme comparing Todoroki and Zuko, in the final panel is Todoroki in a blackboard telling Deku "in an alternative universe you are a bold avatar."
suggestion to how you can do certain death battles without copyright issues:
-only show the fight since not showing the copyrighted footage (can show your reaction to the buildups)

I really liked this Deathbattle and while I like both characters and they have so much in common I think it was a bit uneven a match, having an extra power set really is a big advantage

I absolutely love Zuko. He is by far my favorite from Avatar. No ifs ands or buts about it.
Toph is a close second. But Zuko is one of those bad guys I definitely root for good things happening to because damn. He just fucking deserves some good shit coming his way after what he's been through.

i think this fight was spot on, i thought both Todoroki and Zuko where equal in power but realizing what Todoroki could do in an instant tipped the balance in his favor and lunched Zuko clear out.
Man the next Deathbattle Wally West and ARCHIE Sonic are speed gods they make other speedsters look like slowpokes. There is one hotly debated point but I will talk more about it in the next video

In legend of Korra we saw a fire bender redirect multiple fireshots at him, he was a user of Dancing dragon and when Katara froze Zuko he escaped. I just don't get why the didn't apply this. I also don't get why they didn't gave Zuko his swords
Yeah he escaped but it took a lot of effort and this isn't exactly a weapon fight, as Zuko doesn't always have them or use them more then his firebending abilities

Admittedly this video came out well before season 5, but that doesn't mean there aren't any spoilers. There weren't any that I could catch, but they do reference the manga. Granted they seemed to have avoided any spoilers that had been out at the time. At the very least there weren't any relevant ones to Todoroki's abilities.

1. Most of the time when there is a popular anime, they have to make a game out of it.
2. MHA but barely anything else that you have seen? Which is why you are so unfamiliar with many of these death battle characters! At least read or watch them. Don’t mean that by force.
3. I kind of knew that Todoroki was going to win, mainly because he got fire and ice on his side. But also because he’s more popular than Zuko. I know that’s not the reason why these characters win, just let me have fun.

If I didn't love the avatar, Zuko wouldn't stand a chance against Todoroki. Even if Shoto only used fire. The reason is simple. Magic in the avatar has its limits and its requirements. The limits aren't strictly defined, but it is clear that no one in the series has been able to do "more" than an avatar in an avatar state. In a word, you need to train more than your whole life to, for example, flood the area with a wave of flames.
For this requirement. Using magic in an avatar requires appropriate forms and movements. For example, Zuko cannot put his hand out and spit fire like some kind of flammenwerfer with an infinite tank. And Shoto can. Shoto doesn't have to think properly, doesn't have to be composed, doesn't have to make any particular moves. If he wants, he can cover the body with fire (half) or create a fiery tsunami. Because on the example of ice, we saw that the amount of "material" that Shoto can create before overheating / cooling is inadequate to its age or weight.
The fact that the use of powers in an avatar is so unique and specific puts virtually all characters in a losing position against any elemental user from other universes.
That was the fight with deku not bakugo
Oh yeah, this was the episode that proves they underplayed All Might's speed (Though I still agree with the result), as while they scaled Bakugo to lightning, All Might could outspeed Bakugo even when weighed down.
Fortunately, it changes literally nothing. All it does is lower a 100x speed gap

Personally I wanted Zuko to win just because I like him a bit more, but with Shoto being able to use fire and ice I figured there wasn't a chance. I'm also a little sad they didn't give Zuko his swords, no they wouldn't have helped him win, but it would've been cool to see him use them.
Funny enough with the next death battle you'll have to decide who's going to win NOT based on speed, since this will be the fastest people.

@@HB-fq9nn Nope, it’s actually a real good episode. The only reason it gets hate is just because of the itty bitty tiny dad jokes and some (not much) stiffness in the animation.
@@supermanprime9596 I mean, in my opinion the choreography isn’t that great, parts of the explanation are befuddling (most notably the temperature discussion), the animation jank (which in my opinion is a lot more distracting to me than it is to you), boring music, tedious and repetitive dad jokes, and custom sprites that mostly face sideways (rather than slightly angled).
Don’t get me wrong, the overall fight is correct. Zuko loses.
To me, it’s not that enjoyable.
However, I’m glad that you are able to enjoy it.
