13: Dragged Barry out of Speed Force to abuse & bully him again

Fun fact! This was unintentionally confirmed, but because at the time of the killing blow Goku Black is still in Super Saiyan Rose, it means he is still alive since Saiyan's detransform when they die. So Goku Black was only killed with he was tossed into the sun.
I mean- Flashes are generally able to reach the 3 Tiers of Speed with the 1st Tier (Infinite Speed) already is way too much for any Saiyan to handle unless you're in MUI or spamming Instant Transmission. Reverse Flash Speed guarantees you will be killed before your body realizes/have the chance to die at their reflexes.

That’s not the only fun fact. See, in Dragon Ball Super, Black’s time ring doesn’t actually let him time travel as freely as you think. To prevent the user from altering the timeline, the ring only lets them go to the future, and back to the present. The only exception to this is when space and time are distorted by something else (like Trunk’s time machine). Considering Reverse Flash is a living time distortion in it if himself, Death Battle reasoned that The Time Ring’s restrictions would be nullified during the battle. Hence why Black was able to follow Reverse Flash to the past.
The grandfather paradox is if you go back and kill your grandpa before your dad is born, then you technically never exist. But if you don’t exist, you don’t go back, so the timeline should remain the same. And a bunch of stories have had different takes on how time travel like that works. Steins gate does it amazingly.

Thawne’s level of pettiness is so scary that he can just appear in your doorstep at anytime and ruin your life
For real! I am just shocked and terrified with how psychotic, and how ridiculously petty he is. He could literally dedicate his entire infinite lifetime just ruin your life because of smallest inconveniences. For example, imagine getting this man's coffee order wrong and then he would go back in time just to erase you or wreck your life and you wouldn't even know it. Reverse Flash is probably on my top 10 favourite comic book villain list.
My man literally traveled back in time and pushed a little kid Barry down the stairs just to be a dick that day, that’s the level of pettiness this man will go.

This is one of my Favorite Death Battles, the Goku Black analysis was a little lack luster but the Reverse Flash analysis is Amazing. The battle is the Best Flash Character episode, selling the blinding speed of a Flash and the raw power of Goku Black. This has an Amazing track to go with the fight and the voice acting is Spectacular, the Goku Black actor's Kamehameha and Death Scream were amazing and Reverse Flash's is the guy who did the "It Was Me Barry" meme. the battle had some genuinely funny moments, the "it was me Barry" meme (look it up if you don't know), the "Why Aren't You DEAD?" Joke always gets me, and the call back to the Quicksilver battle was great, and the whole time they have just been killing each other in different ways all building up to arguably the most brutal Death in Death Battle history with Reverse Flash breaking the time ring smugly saying "was that important" to then flip him off as he disappears to then have him grate Black around the world to then yeet into the sun, I love it so much

There's some argument on if this was intentional or not, but since Goku Black's hair was still pink before Reverse Flash threw him into the sun, this implied HE WAS STILL ALIVE the entire time he was dragged across the Earth as a Saiyan will revert to their base form if they lose consciousness.
Reverse Flash is THE pettiest character I have ever seen! I have no doubt that he'd put a dollar on the street so kid Barry can chase after it, miss the school bus, and get in trouble with his mom. Just to make Barry's day suck.

@@davidc. It’s honestly mostly because of the characters. It’s just fun watching DIO and Alucard being pretentious, arrogant dicks to each other. On top of that, the animation itself is really good compared to most other sprite animations
After watching this battle myself. I can definitely see Reverse-Flash being a candidate for the most insane Comic Character. Right up there with Joker, Deadpool, and Carnage.
Reverse Flash stomps.
He has immeasurable speed aka moving faster than linear time (arriving before he left).
Goku Black has finite speed so he get blitzed before a single neuron could fire.
Reverse Flash can negate conventional durability so even IF Goku Black was stronger (he's not) he still gets obliterated via Thawne's vibrations.
Goku Black isn't affected by changes to his own timeline BUT he can't just come back if killed either. Another Goku Black wouldn't show unless the same events happen to Zamasu in another timeline. Which they don't, there's also a very small number of timelines in Dragon Ball.
There's only like 5 and there was only ever one Goku Black.
I think the conclusion is fine, Reverse Flash shit stomps BUT I do think it might have been interesting to use Mugen (Infinite) Zamasu rather than Goku Black. I still think he'd lose because Reverse Flash would either erase him from existence or destroy the space-time they are in.
In all honesty, Jiren is the best DB character with some sort of chance here

This DB was pretty much universally accepted that Goku Black was going to lose the second it was announced. Although its still an amazing episode, in my top 3 this season.
Yeah. Both of them had the same "Living Paradox" immortality, but Eobard had it as an innate power while Black only had it while wearing a magic ring.

The only problem I have with this death battle is they got the goku black “paradox” wrong. He’s just a Zamasu from a different universe. Each time you make a new timeline in DB a brand new versions of our characters depending on when you went back.

Not a lot of people talk about it but this one the best post fight analysis they've done this season. There wasn't much that would've convinced me of Thawne winning when they mentioned Dr. Manhattan couldn't kill him but also the difference in DC's cosmology being so much larger than other fictional universes making most of the heralds in the DC universe multiversal. As well as their more history giving them an experience advantage.

I'm not sure if you've already filmed your reaction to macho man vs Koolaid man, but just in case you haven't, its important to know it's very different from basically any other episode of death battle. It's more like an animated short set in the death battle universe, featuring characters from thier other shows like DBX and "The Desk of Death Battle". It just so happens to also have a fight in it.
The joke at the end is Goku Black got thrown into the sun. So the fight wasn't SUN-derwelming. And next time is very weird. It's a good episode, but it's formatted completely differently than any other episode.
ah yes, the episode that made the entire internet fall in love with Eobard. everything about Goku Black was good (except for his analysis. Goku Black's analysis is one of the worst analysis parts that don't actively hate a character) but Reverse Flash... everything about Reverse Flash in this episode was literal PERFECTION. I love every single aspect of how they handled Eobard.
Goku Black is such a shitty nonsensical character that's actually a better analysis than he deserves.

My personal favorite is Gotenks.
Do you know what Gotenks does right after he successfully fuses the first time? He flies around the earth a handful of times to show off how amazingly fast he is.
Do you know what he does next? He is shown napping just before Piccolo catches up and bitches at him for fooling around.
Know what happens next? Gotenks goes off to fight Buu and Piccolo mentions he only has a TWO MINUTES left on the fusion. The fusion lasts for THIRTY minutes.
So, that means, one of two things.
One, Gotenks is SO SLOW it took him almost 30 minutes to circle the earth a few times.
Or, Piccolo is so absurdly slow WHILE IN A HURRY as time is of the essence, it took him 28 MINUTES to fly across the planet to a napping child. JUST FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUMENT we'll say Piccolo had to fly to the exact opposite of the planet from where he started.
Either way, someone's crazy slow.
Guess how long it takes LIGHT to circle the planet.
In 1 single second, light can circle the earth, SEVEN TIMES.
My second favorite is the one and ONLY attack in Dragon Ball Z that has NEVER failed a single time (OG Dragon Ball doesn't count, it's a gag series, even then it only happened once and was predicted, not just reacted to.) the solar flare.
Literally just a bright flash of light.
But no, they're TOOOOOOTALLY a trillion infinity times faster than light.
It's almost as stupid as when someone is like "WELL GOKU WOULD WIN IN A FIGHT, CAUSE HE CAN BLOW UP LIKE THE WHOLE UNIVERSE EASILY"
Like IGNORING the fact that he absolutely cannot do that........ do these people know if he outputs that level of power EVER..... he'll DIE? He kinda LIVES in the universe. It's the same reason he can't output planet level destructive blasts.
Goku can't SURVIVE that level of destruction. Even if he's not blown up directly, and just the planet is targeted, he'd die in space.
And just for bonus points!
Trunks uses spirit bomb. A move he has NEVER EVER SEEN OR EVEN HEARD OF! And one you literally need to DIE in order to be taught.

@@haku8135 I like all the times when all the characters who can easily tank planetbusting shots get punched or blasted away (and are clearly injured by them) and *_bounce off_* of the scenery. Like, if that attack by Android 18 was so powerful, why'd Super Saiyan Adult Gohan just bounce off that store's window instead of going through it? And the store behind it? And the hundred buildings behind that? And the mountain range behind that? But he didn't. He *_bounced._* The attack couldn't even shatter a pane of glass. He shouldn't even have felt that, so why's he hurt?

They CAN'T tank planetbusting attacks. I've yet to SEE a character take a planet busting explosion to the face and survive. Like even instances like Perfect Cell, his body as DESTROYED by Final Flash and Goku's teleport blast, BOTH which were EXPLICITLY stated to be world ending attacks.
Those attacks just MISSED and didn't cover his entire body, which is a requirement to killing him.
They did make Goku get INJURED by a BULLET though. Which...... apparently they didn't watch the FIRST episode of OG Dragon Ball.
Both of them went crazy.
that works. if u can take & break the time ring it would break every copy of the time ring that might exist in other time lines that where created. So although it would may not kill every goku black ever to exist it would stop his time jumps. So I would call that a win. or it least that is how I remember the ring working.
The entire thing about time travel in that world is that every timeline is its own thing. He put on the ring of the original timeline, the silver ring, where as all other timeline changes have their own jade color to signify an off shoot. The universe where Trunks went back to is its own stable universe, the original of their timeline. So the silver time ring would send him to that time. And because trunks used a time machine to go backwards in time where in that ring remains in the time he put it on, trunks altered the timeline once more to prevent goku's body from being taken.
If you want a graph idea, then imagine if time moves at a slant, Goku black's ring can only go vertical or horizontal step by step, never moving between time and space at the same time, but the time machine has the ability to set coordinates. A specific time in a specific space. Think "Backwards ten minutes" instead of "Back to five o'clock when I first started making this post". And the ability to save how far back to go, making it possible to travel to the same alternate timeline, to the universe the show follows.

By the way,is it really possible to outrun time itself or move faster than time?
Time is linked to gravity and you'll experience time differently when you're closer to stronger gravitational force, the stronger the gravity the slower time passes for you compared to things further away from it.
Time is also linked to velocity, I understand this one much less, but the faster you go the slower time is for you compared to slower moving things.
With enough mass moving at a high enough speed, the universe would rapidly age to the point of near heat death while you don't age a day.
If an object somehow moved fast enough to out speed the effects of time, it would probably be at or beyond light speed, which is functionally impossible, but doing so would probably cause catastrophic damage to everything due to the amount of energy that would involve.
It's also worth noting that while comic books tend to ignore it, without insane durability, being a speedster would be a death sentence just by accidentally running in random bugs, specs of dirt and debris slamming in to their bodies at such high speeds, let alone the broken legs and horrible whiplash from the instant acceleration.
So don't worry about getting to time speeds too much, there's many more hurdles to figure out before we can get to that point! 😂

@@chrismanning2888 Generally speed itself isn't harmful, at least as far as getting to near light speed goes.
It's the /everything/ in the way that makes it an exercise in instant death, including any atmosphere.
Speedsters really need to be good at holding their breath and running through perfectly empty space, somehow, to survive it. Which apparently they can do somehow, go team comic logic!

If I recall correctly, Flash vs Quicksilver happened 4 years before Reverse Flash vs Goku Black.
Anyway, this fight was definitely in my top 5 all time.
Supposedly, Beerus vs Sailor Galaxia was taken down since Toei owns both Dragon Ball AND Sailor Moon, giving Toei twice the reason to strike it unlike other Dragon Ball DB episodes which didn't own the other properties DragonBall characters respectively fought.
Game Theory did a theory on the Kool-Aid man and interesting fact from that video, the Kool-Aid Man is just the pitcher. We've seen him plenty of times without the juice.

Epic af fight. Obviously Rose was no match, the flash / reverse flash / speedforce in general is just absurdly broken. Would have been cool if they let him merge with himself and obtain immortality though, feel like that was a massive part of his kit, especially in the Manga where its a perfect fusion and doesn't fall apart
I really do think you should Watch beerus vs galaxia off camera. Death battle is going to use the calcs from that episode for a while, and honestly its probably never coming back to youtube.
Many reactions to it are still up so I think if he finds a raw of it, he should be ok.
Some important info they left out about the grandfather's paradox surrounding Goku Black
It's not just that wearing the Time Ring made him immune to changes to time. The Zamasu he teamed up with was the one from Trunks' alternate timeline, which is also an alternate reality that co-exists with Goku's timeline. So, Beerus killing the Zamasu in Goku's timeline probably wouldn't kill the Zamasu of Trunks' timeline, but would've killed Goku Black if it weren't for the Time Ring.
Reverse Flash solos
When the victor is blatantly obvious to me at the episode's announcement (like this one) I'm generally kind of soured. I don't really find much excitement going into it. The only exceptions for me being "Deadpool vs. The Mask" and this past season's finale (really looking forward to your reaction to the latter) and that was just because I knew they were gonna be filled with wacky shenanigans. But with that said, this one was still a pretty solid episode.
They said in the corner box even fused zamasu would probably lose because RF could mess with reality like Zeno did to kill him. He’s an absolutely broken op character

Changing the past doesn't change the future in dbz. It just creates an alternate timeline. So pretty much since they knew about zamasus betrayal, they killed him in their timeline but Beerus was already dead in trunks timeline, so nothing could be done about it because our Beerus refused because it's wrong to mess with time.

Not that it was mentioned or what they explained, but the other time rings created due to those different time lines do allow the user to go to that timeline.
Kind of meaning that all other possible Zamasu's could go to the timeline to the one that was killed and continue the fight, giving similar results to what they went with.

I would say yes Goku was the strongest mortal but then CANON BROLY became a thing.
Also if FRIEZA trains much more,he might become the strongest mortal.
Though to be fair, at that point to those gods, Goku was the strongest mortal. Broly hadn't begun to tap into his true strength by then and Frieza was dead, again.
Although, as Goku said to Ginyu, just because his body is stronger, it doesn't mean someone can come and steal it and then use it at it's full potential.

They would definitely be dangerous! Especially if they stole bodies like Ginyu, any time someone stronger appears, their body is stolen, with the full potential unlocked and a mind that quickly understands how to best use that body.

Yes I know Goku would refuse to do that unless he was somehow forced into doing it.
Then while in Frieza's body, he could make the most of it by using other techniques like Kaio-Ken and higher level ki manipulation.
Or imagine Ginyu turning good, learning Kaio-Ken and god-ki, then using those techniques while inside Broly's body.
He would be too powerful because he would not only have Broly's body but also be better at using it due to Kaio-Ken and all his ki manipulation training.
I did find it weird how they gave Goku Black a huge benefit by using some feats only possible thanks to Zamasu's immortality to gauge his abilities, despite them using Black in the pre-fused state for the battle.
They needed some kind of handicap to make it interesting.

If Goku Black was still Zamasu then the only difference would be that Thawn couldn't age him, but Zamasu is WAY weaker than Goku Black so the fight would probably end even faster.

Another insane Eobard Thawne fact: during the events of the Flashpoint animated movie (the one where Flash goes back in time to save his Mom and ends up destroying the timeline to create a dystopian future where all the DC heroes fought and killed each other,) Thawne fought Flash at the end of the film but was then shot in the back of the head by Batman (who in the new timeline was not Bruce Wayne but instead his father, Thomas Wayne.)
The next movie, Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, we find out that Thawne is still alive, even though Flash technically reversed the timeline that created the one where Thawne was shot and killed. Turns out Thawne was exactly how he was before, bullet hole still in his skull. He claims to have used the Speed Force to basically slow down time that specific point on his body, keeping himself alive before the lethal blow catches up to him. He literally used the Speed Force to keep death at bay until he just couldn't hold it any longer. That's how OP both he and Speed Force is.
Fun fact: Once, RF was shot in the head by batman, and he moved so fast that he made that split second of the bullet going through his head last weeks.
