You might want to ask this question after you’ve seen John Wick 3, because that is the best of the bunch, so far

2, but only because the dog doesn't die.
Keanu did 95% of his own stunts. The only ones he didn’t do were the ones he gets hit by a car and the one where he’s falling down the stairs fighting Cassian. Keanu also retained most of his training from the first movie and only took three months of training for this movie, to which the stunt team said he could be training them instead, and that his proficiency ratings were better than most seasoned professional soldiers. Keanu Reeves was 52 while filming this movie. John Wick 2 also doubled the money that the first film made.
Really? He doesn't look it, I assumed he was in his late 30s or early 40s lol...
No no no. He said, "I don't do my own stunts. I do my own actions." He does the gunplay, and fight scenes. When the cars hit him it's a stunt double. I just watched the short for it recently. It was really interesting to hear him talk about it, and highly suggest listening to how he describes it.

One thing that doesn't get enough praise in these movies is the worldbuilding.
Its the definition of "less is more".
The characters don't exposit the info to the audience, they treat stuff like the High Table, Excommunicado the Markers etc as just natural parts of their world that everyone is knowledgable about on some level.
The writers were just able to cleverly use the conversations between characters to give us the needed context in order to get the general gist of what it all means
You know you have a good sequel when you have space to build your world even more ! That entire scene with the "wine expert (sommelier in french)" is just glorious to show the depth of that world ! Also the gun testing and that suit are amazing !!

Some context for Santino's relationship with John. Remember in the first movie, Viggo said that he'd allow John to retire upon completion of an "impossible" task, one which made Viggo as successful as he was then. It turns out the task, for one man, even John, WAS impossible, he managed to secure a marker from Santino, a promise guaranteeing John whatever he needed in order to achieve the task Viggo set for him, and that in return, John owned Santino one carte blanche favour, that John CANNOT refuse if he wants to live.
I don't get why he doesn't kill Santino on the spot. There's nobody to witness it, nobody knows Santino's called upon the blood oath.
And "he cannot refuse if he wants to live" is kinda completely moot with how the movie ends. He could've killed the bastard in first 10 minutes and saved us 2 hours of screen time.
@@masansr Santino may not be a genius, but he's not dumb. I'm pretty sure that he has someone ready to send people to investigate John's property if they don't hear from him by a certain point. As for not killing him at that point, John worked to leave that life of death and mayhem behind him, he literally just buried it again when Santino shows, he intended that life to STAY buried, he's not going to jump back in 5 minutes after putting it all behind him for what, at the time, could have ended up being nothing.
@@scotthadden9816 But he's ready to kill the sister? I mean, he's jumping in it either way, but at least with killing Santino, he had a chance that it would be over.
I know it's petty, but I spent the whole movie thinking "if you're forced to kill somebody, why not just kill your captor?" and couldn't enjoy any of it.
@@masansr He couldn't kill Santino as 'The Continental' keeps record of the markers, thats what after John did kill the sister is happening with Winston and Santino in the NY Continental, he has to sign that it has been fulfilled. Remember, he can not kill the holder of his marker ... rules.
@@mrnice81 I will add on that Kethlas is trying to say that in the privacy of his own home, Wick could make sure he never has to fulfill the Marker, and the High Table never has to know.
The catch is, the third movie makes it clear that nothing, no matter how denied or how well-concealed, is hidden from the High Table for very long. For instance, the Adjudicator managing to determine that the Kimber 1911 that Wick left behind at the Continental belonged previously to the Bowery King. It is possible they might've waved the pistol around multiple gun sellers prior to confronting him, but that was all within the span of a day or two, which is freakishly-good tracking.
In essence, there is no privacy in Wick's home. If Wick did kill Santino, the High Table would've figured it out and the events of the 3rd film would accelerate. For different rule-breaking reasons, but same outcome.
John Wick Chapter 2 takes place a week after the events of the first film.

For the museum scene they didn’t have a lot of extras so once they’d get shot and Keanu would move they’d get back up to meet in the next part of the scene but it was one shot so they were just running around also Keanu is 58 so he was 51 when shooting this
The beauty of the John Wick films really shows that a simple story when, when executed well, is far better than a complex plot done poorly.
believe it or not, but Keanu is actually in his mid 50s now. some ppl wanted him to play Wolverine after Hugh Jackman, but Keanu is actually older than Hugh already.
I love when Winston goes to Santino to have him add his blood to the marker and then tells him what will happen next love that scene
Love all of these movies but have say that Constantine is my favorite movie with keanu reeves in it. Also just bought your 100k merch just in time and I can't wait to get it! 😁
Reloading in an action movie...it's a very simple thing but god does it ground the whole action and make it better and John Wick is the perfect exemple of it and they have fun with how he does it !

The white shopping center John and Cassian have their sniping match in is the Oculus, which is at the World Trade Center site. The subway stops mentioned during the train ride are all downtown Manhattan too. The bridge visible from the Bowery King's rooftop is the Manhattan Bridge.
The meeting with Winston at the end is in the Bethesda Terrace section of Central Park. It shows up in a lot of movies.
At 34:51 he makes a one hand check because Kimber Warrior 1911 is a gun likely to jam at the first shot. Finesse

And for an action recommendation.... Atomic Blonde! The fight scenes in that movie are brutal and realistic, similar to John Wick. And like Keanu, I've heard that Charlize did the majority of her own stunts!
Another is The Old Guard. It is an underrated gem of an action movie!

In 2017 of John Wick 2 Keanu was 53 and Lawrence was 56.
If you guys weren't aware.. Keanu Was 34 When filming the matrix in 98.. and 35 When it came out in 99. He's a lot older than you think 😆 I'm not sure about Fishburn. I assume he's a little older than the other two. and Carry-Anne Moss is I think 2 years younger than Keanu.
John Wick 4 comes out March 24, 2023 and is reportedly slightly longer than any of the previous movies and chapter 5 was promised to us is also coming. Plus, the studio intends to continue the franchise and there are already 2 spinoffs being planned.
honestly totally excited to see you guys see nobody if you guys do, also the transiberian orchestra is INSANE , I've only seen them once but I'm happy to see you're aware of their work!! also if you guys could watch real steel, cars, speed racer or maybe the first 2 transformers, I would love that, just because of the 3d animation from the last few movies still amaze me today. THE CLOSE GUN COMBAT, THE UNIQUENESS OF THE SCENES, THE DIALOGUES AND THE WAY THE ENTIRE MOVIE IS FILMED IS WHAT MAKES THIS FILM SO ICONIC AND GOOD👍. Laurence Fishburne and Keanu Reeves are only three years apart with keanu being the Jr.
Keanu is almost 60 years old lol. He’s 58 right now. He’s A LOT older than he looks. And Laurence Fishburne is 61 years old. Only 3 years old difference between the two. Keanu’s hair and beard are dyed in this movie to make him look younger. There is a rumor that he had a facelift or had Botox injections.

I'm not sure how young these guys are, but I've watched a lot of their videos and they seem to grasp a lot of things very quickly. They seem to be very knowledgeable in a lot of things. It's refreshing. A lot of reactors are so boring, they just react with "Wow, Oh, cool"
I haven't seen both movies 😄 As someone who grew up on Keanu Reeves movies, I like him better in sappy romance films like ' sweet November', ' a walk in the clouds' and ' the lake house'. He was also good in Matrix, Speed, Devil's advocate and Constantine. I still miss old Keanu. Ah, the good old 90s and early 2000s.I hope you guys enjoyed Halloween! 😊 I am off to watch an episode of 'house of the dragon' and then it's bedtime. Goodnight! 💕

We have such an 800 year castle for outside concerts near me, the sound is great and the atmosphere has class. It’s not more expensive than a reg. Concert, depends who plays of course. I think it’s 5-600 people max.

The cartoon is a kid friendly take on the characters. The original comic is dark, funny, & brutal. The movie is a balance between both worlds. The comic book came in 1984 & the cartoon came out in 1987.

So what are some perfect action movies? If you haven't seen them, the Lethal Weapon series with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover hold up as some of the best action entertainment of all time. Perfectly balanced emotional drama, comedy and action. Feel Good odd couple buddy cop trope. Movies that charge you up in three different directions and leave you feeling warm and fuzzy and on top of the world.
The 1998 movie Ronin isn't talked about nearly often enough. Filmed on location in the narrow streets of Italy, this is a pure car chase action film that leaves you sweating from the dangerous driving. An all star cast takes on a terrorist plot: Robert De Niro, Sean Bean (LOTR, GOT), Jean Reno (The Professional), Stellan Skaarsgard (Chernobyl, Dune) and Natascha McElhone. If I remember correctly, the actors were filmed inside the cars being driven at high speed by stunt drivers through cobblestone streets.
True Lies with Arnold Swarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis is an action comedy that lovingly parodies James Bond before getting down to be a super fun action movie in its own right. James Cameron gets to blow shit up, dress up a real bridge in Florida to appear to demolish it to bits, and put a live horse in a glass elevator.
That fight, minus the seriousness, reminds me of Peter fighting that rooster on Family Guy 😆. I just loved it, the way they were going in on each other I daydream about fictional violence is fun, I'm just saying.
