@@mika4354782nah eramis was hacking rasputin with aid of the witness, so rasputin used the aurora sacrifice protocal to terminate himself and eramis was using the sats to target the traveler thinking the traveler is gona run away, hence her confusion asking "y does it not flee"
I love how at the end it became the iconic picture of the Traveler floating above Earth.
The 10 year payoff, the generic guardians with the D1 character creation armor sets too. This IS the best season, rest well, Red.
It was the Traveler's *Destiny* to be there

I liked that there were 3 Guardians wearing the original Vanilla D1 armor that was shown in posters and commercials. Perhaps they’re coming back in Lightfall?
Personally I’d like to see super-decked out versions of the og red war armor for Lightfall
I know things can't stay the same but that original armor style that was a little junky a little post apocalyptic is EXACTLY what I love and want to see more of. The "Prodigal" sets are the first ones I unlocked with transmog when they came out.

@The Seventh Sorrow The lore is part of the game and the reason you didn't see physically what he could do was because hes way too powerful let's put it this way those pyramid ships he would of fired upon would of been destroyed and bungie wrote themselves into a corner because of that so had to get rid of him.
Something I just noticed. Eramis looks at the screen to see the Witness and looks back to see nothing. I think that she was seeing its reflection, and looked back only to realize that it wasn't in the room with her. That's what made her pause and feel so uneasy, allowing Ana to have just enough time to pull the plug.
I think it’s really her considering walking away and choosing not to fire on the Traveler

Nah, it's the whispers of the Dark. Eramis, like most, serves the witness out of fear for herself and her people. She is being spoken to and manipulated by the whispers of the dark.

I honestly thought Rasputin was going to become a guardian after his sacrifice, because as the speaker said to gall, “ bravery, inspires sacrifice, sacrifice, inspires death” Rasputin checks all the boxes so he could come back as a guardian. it’s possible.
There was a small ghost mechanic noise when Elsie is hugging Anna and a small light when Elsie says "Anna look"

@@rhinocort1184 traveler was gonna leave, but most likely saw rasputins sacrifice and realized it fulfilled the guardian’s motto, and realized humanity is different than other civilizations it’s blessed previously

@@rhinocort1184 the Traveler is a paracausal entity, theoretically it should just be able to decide not to be there and in doing so simply not be there, I suppose maybe the Pyramid ships block its power and it's still damaged but if it doesn't need to follow causality then it can have effects without course so it should be able to be somewhere without haveing moved to get there, at least as I understand the word paracausal anyway.

I think Bungie has finally put the game in a state, moved the pieces around for them to continue with the story they had before Activision happened.
Activision wasn't solely to blame for Destiny's state. Both companies had fucked up and made huge mistakes.

yes, even though we knew the traveler was gone, it was odd to see the empty sky in front of the tower when we landed.

The scary fact is the witness just broadcasting his signal seemed to have cracked the screen. Dude's aura is reality breaking.
I don't think The Traveler was trying to run. I think it knows it cannot win in the up coming battle and so it decided to lift itself out of orbit to keep from falling on top of the Last City when it finally meets its end. Don't sleep on The Traveler. I have a strong feeling it's not going to how down without a fight. There was a scene in one of the Lightfall trailers where the Witness comes face to face with The Light and has a surprised look on his face. I feel like The Traveler is gonna go down swinging and might even do some real damage to The Witness and the Black Fleet.
There's also the mention of The Veil on Neptune is a powerful force tied to the traveler

100% calling it now, witness was hyped up as the main bad guy, they are gonna pull a fast one and the traveler gonna one shot him, stealing his power for its own, and the traveler will be the final boss...

Spoiler alert bro, THIS cutscene was that moment. Paid off years and years of story and narrative to this game ever since D1. While the two cutscenes you mentioned were good, they not touching this one my boy 😂. “That’s a stupid statement” headass. Gtfo here

Love the effort they are putting into the cutscenes instead of just some person standing there staring at you while you read a brick of text. Has more of an impact I feel.
Imagine The Traveler brings back Rasputin as a guardian, Rasputin embodied the quote that the speaker spoke before he died to Ghaul.
With the powers of light and dark, Rasputin would truly reach unbelievable heights of power.
And then becomes goku
The iconic picture of the Traveler of Destiny. I still remember the time when the Red Legion invaded the Last City, took the Traveler, stripping all guardians of their light, then the light was given to Dominus Ghaul, but then was ultimately defeated by the Traveler after we took him down in his physical form. The Traveler had it's shell a bit damaged after breaking free of the restraints by the Cabal Red Legion. There was a shard of the Traveler within the EDZ that our guardians then were given light powers back as it is not with the rest of the Traveler, and a fighting chance to go up against the Darkness in the most of desperate times.
Lets not forget that before we went to retake the Last City from the Cabal Red Legion, we had to disable the Almighty, a Cabal superweapon to expel planetary matter into a star, thus shortening it's lifespan by a lot, then would explode and destroy an entire solar system.
Bungie needs to bring back the Red War campaign.

What if the Traveler went to orbit cause it knew that Eramis was trying to attack it. If it got attacked while on top the Last City it wouldve been bad.
This makes sense. Or maybe it was trying to get closer to the black fleet for a more direct blast of light like what it did as it healed itself

Rewatching this make me really pissed at the current state of this game. We’re in week 6 of Season of the Wish and I feel NOWHERE near the way I did by week 6 of Season of the Seraph. This game feels so hollow now. It’s saddening.

When playing this last night I didn't fully comprehend that the fleet they showed at the end is already last Neptune. Perhaps going towards the dreaming city since the next season atleast has mara sov
I missed out on destiny not because I didn't have the game but because I worked the weekend and the few times I did get to play with friends they were lightyesrs ahead of me. Like I was starting out and they were ready on the moon and mars. Good times.

If any of you didn't know, in halo 3 odst you can find a poster on a wall with that same image of the traveller over earth and text say "destiny awaits"

I,m Really hoping this was planned as as “Independence Day 3” kind of spinoff, with the traveller just being a giant sized white orb superAI like the movie had.
Or atleast if it was planned this way, then it was beautifully executed and super Sci-fi’ed to do it a job well done.

This was a very hype moment for me cause I actually thought the Traveler was gonna flee or die, ANNNNNND then Lightfall's story was shit and killed all hype for the future I had... I unironically liked the Season of Defiance story more than the main DLC story.

Seems like the traveler was gonna peace out for self preservation but soon as the immediate threat was gone it was like "Nah I'm just joshing ya, I'm not leaving"
The black fleet chased the traveler down before and all it did was leave. The witness has a point, it has no other options
Nah bro, the traveler just went out and said come and get it. If the traveler was leaving it can teleport out. Do you remember witch queen ending where traveler and Immaru teleported out of throne world? the traveler didnt come here and stay in the last city without a plan. This is the climax, so its making a point to stay for all those who doubted it before. Its not running, not then in the first collapse, not ever. This is it, we are the chosen ones that the traveler is betting its life on just as we are betting our life on it. A cooperation with the first alien humanity met ( iirc ) who was once called Moon X :)
With the Witness speaking in Savathick voice, does that mean some of our interactions with her were possibly the Witness speaking to us directly?
i like the little touch at the end of this cinematic when you look at the witnesses fleet, you can see Calus' new ship, looks massive

I hope we get to find out what the travelers intention was there. Was it indeed trying to cut and run or was it trying to put distance between itself in the city so it wouldn't be drawing combat directly to it?
