- Fat Mike joined Ted Stryker on the Tuna on Toast Podcast!
Mike tells Stryker about working with Brett Gurewitz and paying him 675.00 dollars to record NOFX songs..S&M Airlines.
Fat Mike said he should have signed with Epitaph.
Mike also tells Stryker he would have not have known harmony or melody if it wasn't for Bad religion.
He Modeled Fat Wreck Chords after Epitaph as well.
Mike did not sound bad on ribbed. That album was where he started becoming a capable vocalist. He sounded better later, but I just gotta say that Ribbed is the album where his vocals really showed a turning point

Ribbed is a perfect album, the sequencing especially! The flow is so smooth, punk so fast, and the slow songs let you breathe & smile.. Ive never not listened all the way through.
It was such a relief to find that album at a time when everyone else was into sadsack shit like tool and pearl jam.. Humor is so rare.

That's funny about the chess, I just saw an interview with Bobby Schayer. The first question Brett asked Bobby when he auditioned was "Do you play chess?"
Bughouse is a mulitplayer chess game that many people dont know about. It is a chess game that is played with four people. 5 seconds per move and your partner has the opposite color so when he takes a piece from the other team he can give the piece taken to you. Four people are needed to play and if you like to play speed chess and want to level up or try something different play bughouse. You need two clocks two boards and read the rules. I recently improved my game by learning how to hide in the open file. go figure
True fact: Fat Mike drinks cheap beer out of a mug shaped like a woman's bust.

Tuna on toast sounds legit delicious.
I don't like ribbed much for these reasons, it really sounds like BR harmonies are forced everywhere and the production sounds awkward. And I love BR very much.
