This brings back some fond memories! I was in 2 bands that recorded with Brett back in 86/87 in the first studio Culver City/Venice Beach. We were lucky to find him through Rodney Bingenheimer from playing local radio sponsored gigs. Recorded 1 song with the first band and then 4 with the following band. The quality of the mix is excellent, the kick drum is awesome, so awesome that he asked if he could sample it, he said one of the best he had heard up till then! He even made me go buy some Maxi Pads to dampen an over resonant floor tom :( ;)
He ain't kidding about being on the go, if I remember right..he was always late and tired ;) But did it ever pay off!
I would love to know if he still has the Jack bottle with the metal beads wrapped around it...he loved shaking it to the beat of one of our songs, so we recorded it and used it in the mix. Great experience and will never forget that stinky little studio ;)
